3922  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm going to try learning C++ then maybe something else on: December 19, 2012, 02:33:09 PM
I started C++ using C++ For Dummies. It's quite effective despite what the title may imply.  Wink

That's what I'd recommend too to get a basic understanding of the whole thing. Shame they were not around when I first learned programming. We only had the reference manuals back then and believe me, that's no fun.

Wait, wait, wait. So Roger Ver has access to see users wallet passwords in plaintext? So he can theoretically log in to any account on Blockchain.info and send himself whatever he wants? Blaming it on "hackers"? Is that what is happening here?

NO,  this is not possible.

If it was,  I could have just taken my money back,  and none of this would have been an issue.

What is this then?

Sincere question, I've never used bitchain.

Don't let cunts like this guy get to you, what we need is some sort of reliable payment system, I don't think the standard is going to cut it with Bitcoin because of all the scammers.

Maybe a functionality to revert payments.  Smiley
Yeah, we need to inven...Wait, it's PayPal!

And then add a functionality to pay directly from my banking account so I don't need to convert my money into obscure internet tokens first.

I think we've got a great thing/k going here.

The way I see it someone who can't afford 10 bux to buy a 4chan pass shouldn't even be spending time on 4chan, but do something productive instead like getting a job.

3929  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CPC Electronics - is it legit? on: December 18, 2012, 07:18:51 PM
I may accidentally just have sicced the Manchester City Council on them. Whoops. I'm just not good with this computer stuff.
3930  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CPC Electronics - is it legit? on: December 18, 2012, 06:59:35 PM
Contacted them, they said that they were sure their customers had reviewed them online but I couldn't find anything.

Their whois entry is 5 days old. http://whois.domaintools.com/cpcelectronics.co.uk

No contact or adress information on the site but the chat, the adress listed on WHOIS is a huge office block, about the best adress in Manchester, so it's likely a mail forwarding service.

Yeah, this looks like a "money re-appropriator"

EDIT: Haha, laughing about the 1 year guarantee. You can't even do that in the EU. That's way too short.
3931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A thesis about Bitcoin on: December 18, 2012, 06:46:18 PM
What about the anthropologic aspects? The cultish behaviour? Use of titles to confer power onto the wielder very much like the Hauka (see Rouche, Les Maîtres fous, 1954)? Parallels between the deification of Satoshi and the deification of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on the island of Tanna?

I don't think trolling is allowed on this board.

3934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Seems to be Hacked! on: December 17, 2012, 11:33:36 PM
Uncurlhalo: I can explain that really easily: People who are in lack of a sexual personality whank a lot and statistically use the word "troll" way more often than normal people do. So anyone who calls me a troll - without having a reason to - better turns off his computer, and starts meeting real physical ladies instead of being an unpleasant full time wanker.

Statistically? Please provide a link; I'd like to see that study.

At least it's a more creative story than usual. Gotta hand him that.
