3921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Kell Brook vs Terence Crawford November 14 on: November 15, 2020, 11:20:04 PM
Also Arum said that he is willing to set up a fight with Spence anytime. So I guess we have to wait. Don't worry mate, we are going to bounce back next time.  Smiley

This is the best development after the fight, hopefully it will happen because it is sure a big fight.
A rematch for Kell Brook vs Crawford is not an interesting to fight anymore,  fans wants to see Crawford fight with some real champion and this is it.

I'm wondering now which fighter you guys will root to win if this big fight will happen.
3922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: November 15, 2020, 11:43:59 AM
I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

1) Atlant
2) Edgeless
3) Centra
4) Humaniq
5) Matchpool
6) Lunyr
7) KIN
8.) FUEL
9) SONM
10)NPXS

Please tell me if I should still expect I will be profitable or just give up now already.

in my opinion its better exchange your altcoins above with bitcoin, ethereum and Binancecoin my friend, i think its safer to Hold in long term

If you were  at that time, you would also consider spreading your investment to different altcoins, maybe some or most of the coins in the list are shitcoins right now already, but during that time, they were so popular and they also had a big run, bittrex times if you still experience it.
3923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 15, 2020, 11:30:55 AM
Now that people seem to lost their trust to GSW as they have a new favorite, I'm liking the odds now.

Oh yeah stadus, we might make tons of money here.  Grin

But if GSW showcased their skills once again, the bandwagon will be back.
That time we could bet for the old favorites.  Wink
But seriously, Klay and Curry had enough of their rest. Time to work again to get another championship.
The roster is looking great and they have young players that can easily adapt to the fast plays of Steve Kerr.

I'm glad we are in the same side, lol.

As people are rooting for the Lakers, GSW are just waiting for the season to start an they will prove again that they are still the best in the West.
GSW is still a great team, they seem to forget that GSW had achieved a 73-9 record in the regular season, and that was without Kevin Durant.

Repeat is possible.

3924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Nordine Oubaali vs. Nonito Donaire - December 12 on: November 15, 2020, 11:14:23 AM
@status - please back read, Oubaali can't make the fight with Donaire that's why Rodriguez is the replacement fighter now.  Smiley

Sorry about that, I wasn't aware, I think OP should have edited this thread. By the way it's @stadus, not status, lol.

I have to check on his opponent yet, but if it's better than Oubaali then I guess we will see a great fight ahead.
3925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Nordine Oubaali vs. Nonito Donaire - December 12 on: November 14, 2020, 11:47:33 PM
Highlights of Emmanuel "Manny" Rodriguez

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMkCiye54Sk

Good puncher power, decent hand speed, aggressive and come forward fighter.

So it this is a tailor made fight for Donaire, as we all know that he can adapt to his opponent. In this case he will be countering with his left hook and then overhand right and I think Donaire can hold his chin against Rodriguez

https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/614887

Wait, I thought that was a different fighter, this particular fight is between Donaire and Nordine Oubaali.

This is his opponent, https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/680900...  shorter than him with only 5′ 3½ in height which I think would struggle against Donaire.

3926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Nordine Oubaali vs. Nonito Donaire - December 12 on: November 14, 2020, 11:28:42 PM
So another boxer is down with the virus, at least they have find a replacement on Rodriguez which is also a tougher match for Donaire since we all know that Donaire is slowly ageing already. And Rodriguez' only lost came from the hands of Inoue. Looking at his boxrec here: https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/614887, seems a decent fighter. But I think with Donaire's experience, he can beat Rodriguez by decision or by another highlight knockout, his left hook.

The odds will favour Donaire here, I guess. And let's hope, no one will contract the virus just before the fight. Seems that sportsbookies haven't picked this match yet.

I would also go with Donaire, it's a kind of fight that Donaire like since he has the reach advantage and the height, I never saw a small fighter beat Donaire in his division now. Betting odds will not be available until first week before the fight will happen, that's normal for a non popular bout I guess.

Quote
This will be the comeback of Donaire if he will win this match.
Donaire loss to Inoue but he was an underdog of that fight, here, I think he will be the favorite.
3927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 14, 2020, 10:57:07 PM
Even Klay and Curry can lift up their team, there is no assurance that they will win the entire series. Well, this just explained that no matter what the team is, one day it may decline. Even in empires, there are golden era and declines.
We are going to see if they are still the old boys who make the GSW warriors popular. The next season is a shortened season, good for the team where players came from injury but I think Curry and Thompson had enough time to rest and get back in action in full potential.

Now that people seem to lost their trust to GSW as they have a new favorite, I'm liking the odds now.
3928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The last time we saw 16K on Bitcoin price on: November 14, 2020, 10:33:11 PM
Not a good comparison with the current situation IMO, bitcoin that time is still a bit bullish, and the popularity of altcoins was still there, now they struggle so we will not certainly gonna see a good price in overall, also, you only choose a very limited number of altcoins, but if you'll add more, like the top 100 or top 50, for sure the previous times are still profitable.
3929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 14, 2020, 09:44:33 AM
The gambler had chosen the odds with cent percent hope of winning. In the history of US election every Presidential candidate is being elected for two consecutive period as President. This is the first time a president is losing the election without continuing for a total of eight years. Maybe upon this fact the gambler could've chosen the odd for Trump.

That new info for me.

Never thought that it happened in the presidential election of the US but as far as I know, I've watched this video saying that they are kind of finding a new thing so maybe they are so fond of Trumps' word and they want a new one. This might just proves that the people don't actually like the idea of Trump leading the US.

That's definitely not the first time though, this article would give us the right information.

The office of the US president was established in 1789, and out of all the men who have held office, only ten have failed to win re-election for a second term, when they have attempted to.

It's important that we know the real information first because we made a statement, let's avoid making statement that will mislead the reader.

3931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: November 12, 2020, 11:46:51 AM
those who run the business are making business, those who are playing are doing it most of because 2 incentives:
- fun/entertainment
- money

on the second point: money
it could also be for to reason:
- their conscientious desire to (try to) make more money
- their unconscientious desire to burn money

In short, those who run the casinos are getting money from people who spend money just to have fun.
That's the usual scenario as majority of the gamblers are just having fun, others maybe serious but majority of these serious people are still losing money.
3932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: November 09, 2020, 03:03:02 PM
Yes, he may want to fight Manny because of the money involve but people dont care and what they want is to see him in the ring with Manny.

People are willing to pay to get this two in the ring, otherwise this fight won't happen.
What people would really want is to see how Manny beat Conor badly, he is not the king in boxing, it's not MMA, so there's no chance he will win.

If he stand with Mayweather until 10 rounds, i think he would not last 3 rounds with Manny if Manny will not think of the "EXHIBITION FIGHT".

Manny would not just play Conor McGregor here, it's not in his principle to manipulate a fight, Conor McGregor challenge Manny for a boxing match, Manny accepted the challenge so he will try to win impressively again. His career is not over yet, in fact he is still a champion at his division, and could possibly fight Spence or Crawford soon, but of course, if Manny is looking for big money and easy fight, he knows the answer.
3933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Huobi vs BNB on: November 09, 2020, 02:45:47 PM
Im using Huobi years ago, not that I dont like them, they have a low withrawal fee.

About theyre tokens, Binance is more powerful in terms of users that is why it cant surpass BNB price and volume.

Agree with this, it's not like Huobi is bad
But Binance had more influence and had a better fame compare to Huobi

Most people prefer Binance because of CZ i believe

People prefer Binance because it's a more popular, we can't say because of CZ but because CZ is BINANCE or he created Binance, they both will grow together, and as a CEO of one of the biggest if not the biggest exchange in crypto space, he would not leave Binance for any reason as that could possibly result to either his downfall or Binance, they are bond together.
3934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 09, 2020, 02:24:55 PM
Anyone assumes the playoffs will be changed as well? Or do you think that will stay the same. I feel like 5 game first round series have been talked a lot in the previous years when parity wasn't like this, it was mainly like "warriors and who?" for a while and the answer was cavs, for the past 5-6 years before the covid season it was basically just first rounds were as regular as regular season was.

However with this bubble season making everything a bit more fun and a bit more close, maybe that 5 game idea is shelved once again I don't know. I could say that there are series that I think should go to 7 game and fun, but then there are series that are very boring and should be done within as quick as 3 games let alone 5. However considering the parity is back on track, they will probably keep the 7 game series for all arounds.

The playoff format wasn't change, even in the last bubble.

I'm okay with a shortened season but to reduce playoffs series too, I think that's too much, that's the time where NBA gets more views, so I doubt they would change that, there's even some speculation that NBA is rigging games to extend the series, so now way they will reduce the playoffs series games.
3935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum remains the king of altcoins on: November 09, 2020, 02:15:55 PM
You are absolutely right. There are many competitors of Ethereum in the market who provide same services with less transaction fees. The transaction speed of Ethereum is also a question mark.
Why is Ethereum transaction speed a question mark? isn't it that almost everyone who is in crypto has used Ethereum transactions, even though the speed is still a little less compared to others, but so far not many have questioned this, except for the gwei problem on the Ethereum platform.

The speed is always in question, that's investors are looking to see an upgrade of ETH, which was the ETH 2.0.

Bitcoin is the most popular crypto assets, and yet people are still questioning its speed especially during the time when the network is congested and that happens when the market is bullish ,same with ETH, it was more demand now so network congestion is expected.
3936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone try to "gamble" with ponzi scheme crypto scam services? on: November 09, 2020, 01:57:06 PM
I think I do not need to explain what I mean by ponzi crypto scam. Every week I see at least ten new ponzi scheme scams.

They often offer something like 100% interest per 24h (or something similar). They commonly run for quite a few weeks (or months sometimes) before "they go scam" publicly. The obvious idea how to exploit them is to invest something small at the first day, withdraw it as fast as possible and repeat just with the interests from the previous bet (and of course take some money away from every successful round).
Has anyone tried that?
yes, in my early journey in crypto and I'm happy to realized early that it as a mistake.
I learned a lot here actually, so it's alright to lose money at the start.

Have you been successful? \
No one is successful with this on the investor's side, unless you are the promoter, and your success will stay until the time you'll get arrested.

Is this kind of gambling popular/common. Has it name?

Very popular in the past, in fact there's still plenty to be seen here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=207.0
3937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on Facebook's GlobalCoin on: November 09, 2020, 01:41:41 PM
With such a large number of users, I think fb will soon thrive and have a top 20 position on cmc. If fb releases the coin, the crypto market will be more interesting
You are wrong, are you know about Libra facebook coin?? Many people enthusiastic about this coin before launched but now it's so bad. I try to search it in coingecko and coinmarketcap and Libra coin is no trading activity even though the project from Facebook. So my personal opinion Facebook will not give any impact or maybe only a little impact on the crypto market
It will only create a temporary hype but in the end its just like other coin that has no progress and lack of investors.

We thought its a big thing because the developer is facebook. Well I guess we need to wait longer to see if this can progress positively in the market.

The main reason why it did not attract investors is because of the regulatory requirement facebook has to comply first which is not an easy one. It somehow help the market anyway as during that time the market was really struggling, then came the Facebook's GlobalCoin and hype the market.

Here’s why regulators are so worried about Facebook’s digital currency
3938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambled against Biden - funniest instance on: November 09, 2020, 11:54:14 AM
A public figure makes a public statement, don't expect bad words,  it's always a words of respect coming from a country's leader, otherwise it might create some tension. But you know what's inside of him, losing money is no joke and for sure he does not bet a penny on Trump to win.

3939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 09, 2020, 11:30:48 AM
Best tip is to bet in games you're well aware or have knowledge on. That's one of the primary reasons you're losing because there's no point in diversifying on many bets if you don't know which team has more high probability to win.
Also try different sites that has more straight forward mechanics to win.
Knowledge is important, but in gambling, your knowledge will be inferior to the robot system that is implemented in any gambling site. For example, in the mines bet, even though you only choose one box, your chances are very small and you can rarely win with very large profits. Therefore I am not that enthusiastic about winning at gambling, I just enjoy the game without any desire to be able to get bigger profits in terms of gambling. Obviously the system will not give us the flexibility to win. Betting is not solution if you wanna get source income and better you trade and make betting for your side income because you will not use all your money for betting.

I disagree with your statement because you seem describing a games in a casino where it can only be won by luck alone.
Mate, this is sports betting, we can strategies here and it's possible to win in the long run because we aren't betting against the house, hence no house edge.
3940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Multi bets vs single bets on: November 09, 2020, 10:18:41 AM
The multi bet is something that interests me, so I prefer the multi bet. Indeed, a single bet with lower odds might be said to be a safe bet, although I realize in a bet it is not possible to be 100% safe but at least, if we bet single at low odds for me personally it is a safe bet. It's different if you bet multi by only placing low odds, it will still make you slip like the picture in the OP and this happens often for me personally. Actually high or low odds, multi or single bet is a choice and anyone is free to choose but for me, I would prefer to look for high odds by means of multi bets and not single bets with high odds.

Actually we can make our own preference, some gamblers would love a multi bet with small odds as they think their chances are betting compared to betting a single bet with lower odds, that's only because of the payout which is the cumulative odds for multi bets or parlay, but they forgot to tell that analyzing the game is the most important as that's where we can see the value, regardless of the odds.
