A few questions regarding your table:
Why your list start with 2?
Where are the BPIP merit stats?
Where are the BPIP profile?
Just curious.
Btw those stats are well known already and they are on a few lists like yours.

Good try, but think of something else which is more needed, like list of all red trust and high merit receivers for example Wink I can think of hundred more interesting things but I have no time.

Just finished the hidro isolation of the house's outside walls and fundament and it's started raining, what a f*king day.
3942  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated thread initiative. More work for us, less for the Mods. on: September 08, 2018, 12:10:54 PM
Good idea in theory and you and anyone else who wants to join you are free to try it, but when there's only a handful of people doing this and self-modding threads it doesn't really make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things when you're swimming in a sea of shit. You'll soon realise how much work it is to keep on top of the spam because you delete one post and there's another made just as fast to replace it. I would prefer we tackle the spam in other ways but I get there's not much anyone can do without theymos on board so community-led initiatives have to be proposed in the meantime.

If you delete shitposts one or twice a week it's fine. All the signature campaigners will cry for loosing postcounts and after some time they will find out that spaming your thread is worthless. The people who really wants to have discussions can have them in the section. If the post count is important for them  then this is a way to "control" them in a way.

If they play dirty we have to do it too.

I sent you a PM regarding an issue with your signature.

Theymos is really like a unicorn, mysterious.
I don't know what he is doing for living, but I'm sure the forum is more like a hobby, and if he is a young man in his late twenties than for sure he has more important things to think of right now because the forum is a big time consumer and responsibility but you cannot give up from your whole career and development just because satoshi choose you to be the admin.
3944  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated thread initiative. More work for us, less for the Mods. on: September 08, 2018, 08:55:55 AM
I keep forgetting to do this. I've just started this thread in the politics forum, and I wish I had made it self-moderating. I think it has a lot of potential for the spammers.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5024269.0

Is it possible for a mod to change the status after the thread has been started?

You can just lock it and move it to the archive and open a new one. I've done this before Smiley

3947  Other / Meta / Re: Have we left "Bitcoin Discussion" board for spammers, forever?? on: September 07, 2018, 10:39:05 AM
I've just visited the board, and I found a thread by a Hero that looked as if it might have had some potential, but the juniors have started to reply to it. What a shame it wasn't posted in serious discussion.

I was going to award another post with some merit, but the guy had made a full quote of a previous post for his reply, and he could have snipped out the relevant bit, so I didn't give him any merit. When will they learn to respect the readers of these threads.

This is why I prefer to start self-moderated threads, so the discussions are not spoiled by the newbies.

I see theymos was here but didn't answer the request.
Hope we get a feedback soon.

Off-topic :
@hilariousetc I sent you a PM with a small issue I saw.
3950  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: September 07, 2018, 07:26:03 AM
is it because of the Clouldflare protection is on?
It's not on, I can download my weekly Merit update without problems.

This user for example, the account was nuked based on the Deletion log (it was earlier today), but there's no record on bpip until now.
New users aren't added either: ahmadremawi for example registered yesterday and is nuked already, but https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=ahmadremawi doesn't exist yet.

Well I get from time to time this 5 second waiting time of CF protection.
I checked now, my profile was last parsed yesterday.

Great work here Lafu. I found only one who got fooled by the site, i don't really know if he actually opened that link but he said that he checked it and I left him a message to secure his savings just in case.

Thanks guys. In terms of my investigative powers versus yours, I repeat, their github was created 2 months later, and there is this tremendous, inexplicable gap in the thread too between December and February. So they were up to no good Smiley When I said Monero I translated "cryptonote" for the wider public.

Sorry man, it was really difficult for me to understand what you meant in the OP. As Tankdestroyer said, the registration day of the Github account has nothing to say about how legit the coin is. Well, keep digging something may come out of it.
3953  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: September 06, 2018, 09:36:45 PM
Just notice that the manual profile update is not working the last days, is it because of the Clouldflare protection is on?
Hope the modlog is still updating as usual so we can check who got banned.

Website is excellent, I agree, but today you need so much more than a website to succeed. Most important aspect will be adoption, getting merchants to use your tokens everywhere!!!

@hilariousetc thanks for the great analysis. I found some free time to read it all and I'm completely agree with your postion.

I'll just say that theymos is trying to reduce the bad consequences from every move he makes but considering the current forum situation I don't really see how the things can get worse even if you make not so good decisions.

Of course some moves will trigger another problems but with those we can deal later again. There's no miracle solution to all the problems no matter how long you think over the things.

And soon actions will be needed

I just wanted to say that I like your initiative iasenko! Not sure how I missed this thread until now.

I don't have nowhere near 300+ good reports but I'll do my best to reach it sometime soon and help out Smiley

I'm fed up with the spam as well...

Don't worry about it, if you want to join it's OK, we have interact before and I can say that I know you so I can trust you that you won't abuse your posting to support spammers.

I'll list you in the main list, just read the thread from Wlesh in the OP
3959  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, we want those sections back to us, new moderators? on: September 06, 2018, 07:37:04 AM
Local sections :
- Indian
- French

The French section got a mod and things are starting to pick up now. All is not lost, yet Smiley

Check out this thread: Merit source application (French local board)

Good to know, I didn't follow the case but I knew it was a problem few weeks ago, I'll cross out this one then.

If there are more problematic local borads I'll include them.

@Don Pedro, I'm not 100% sure that only the report score is important but maybe you are right. It's no problem to apply I guess, but first let's see if we get a feedback from theymos.
3960  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, we want those sections back to us, new moderators? on: September 06, 2018, 07:10:47 AM
New moderators are needed but I don’t think we are focusing the right way. Moderators and mass reporting seem to me like trying to put out the fire with water from one side, while you know on the other side there is a guy fueling the fire with petrol.

The solution is not to throw more water, or to have more people throwing water, it is to kill the guy who is pouring petrol, or at least to take the petrol away from him.

I see you point but what I do is to start from the low effort tasks from the Community generated suggestions where not much of a coding and time is involved.

All the points listed with OK are possible to be implemented but we have to take it one by one. Everyone is complaining from theymos and nobody do anything /except a few guys here like h&co/ just sit and wait something to happen.

During my not so long experience with the life I've learned that If don't do anything there will never be changes, no matter if you live in democracy or tyranny it's the same.

I don't really want to be the black sheep here, always pushing for some changes, suggesting, etc. probably many people don't really like me already /that's their problem tho/ but I can't just sit and wait like /almost/ everyone else.

I'm not doing it for profit or any personal interests, only for the prosperity of the forum and because of the feeling of injustice for all those abusing the forum one way or another.
