Why is no one talking about the bombshell C-F-B dropped last night in releasing the 3rd part of BCNext plan, which was basically one paragraph saying NXT was just an experiment and will fail without altrustic human cooperation?
I was hoping it was an April Fools joke but I don't think it was. If so, I've already dumped half my Nxt because of it.
Very pessimistic interpretation. I don't think it is. I've been asking here for months how you are going to get little fish to forge, how we'll get instant 1000 TPS as promised, whether the network is safe being protected only by big fish forging and no one would give a straight answer. I also come to learn Nxt doesn't work without CENTRALIZED high power VPS nodes being run at expense to anyone wanting to do so, which makes it NO different than Ripple, which by the way DOES have instant transactions. The 3rd part of the plan basically explained everything. Nxt is not an elegant financial solution. It won't work without centralization and as people lose interest the network will become weaker and weaker. Meanwhile other people are coming up with real solutions that don't involve everyone holding hands and singing Koom-By_Ya. So if BCNext said that Nxt will be in your morning cereal, would you have bought as much Nxt as possible? His 3rd part wasn't a plan at all, it was a philosophical interpretation of what he thinks of BTC, Nxt, etc.. with no specifics, and his thoughts are just that, they have no affect and influence on what Nxt has/will become. I will buy all of your Nxt for Ripple or BTC right now, put your money where your mouth is. I accept this offer. I have about 12k Nxt. make me an offer Hahaha so much noise for 12000 NXT . Rofl

Wimp..... so what u are saying is that u have absolutely no faith in the community that has built NXT up to where it is, but rather want to have BCNext make all of your decisions for you?The same BCNext who has already made it clear that NXT was always intended, at least partly, as a social experiment ? Of course NXT will fail without co-operation, like all human efforts that involve more than one person. NXT is not altruistic, we are all in it for the money. And if we all work for it, we will get it. I've said it before : No gods, no kings, just NXT.We don't need no stinking BCNext, or any other guru/leader/father figure. Do you mean the community that sits in here all day making fun of Emule, who can't agree on whether floating point can be used or not? the community whose lead developer just resigned from the TechDev committee? The community that ridicules stakeholders who come here with concerns and call them a troll and put them on ignore lists? The community who comes up with a completely different coin as a ruse to try to encourage small holders of Nxt to (not) forge and then kicks their feet and threatens to quit when not everyone thinks that's the greatest idea in the world?. All trying to develop in a decentralized manner for an ecosystem that requires large stakeholders to run expensive VPS nodes and for small stakeholders to run open clients for NO reward or to collect nodecoins that have no value? That's the community that's supposed to make me feel so much better that it's own creator abandoned it to pursue bigger and better thinsg? Oddly I don't feel better. F U D Please sell and shut up. You have a way to missinterpret anything that gets posted. You are like emule, but you take things you say yourself seriously. Sad...

There's two ways to recover it
1 Remember it back 2 Brute forcing
But with 20-30 characters, it can be really long! I know that there was a guy offering bruteforcing services for satoshis.
If you don't know a single part of the password, then 20-30 characters is impossible to bruteforce. Do the math...

Now this coin has blemished Tomatocage's reputation, good that he's so trusted so it won't be much of an issue for him. But how in the world could he provide escrow for this joke? PAWNCOIN??? Come on !
How did he do anything wrong? How can an escrow guarantee a success? Nobody got scammed here, the product was just shit. Not his fault...

This seems to be really useful for recreational users. If they look at their feed, they can instantly see the price. For powerusers it's not very useful though.

Looking forward to the official sale. Does anyone know if the price will be above the 100$ presale price?

If you had at any time a backup of that wallet without a password, then it is likely still on the disk, even if it was deleted. There is some nice recovery software out there, you might look into that.

There is a command in bitcoind to index ALL the transactions. Then you can query all the transactions into a database and dump them into csv.
But you can do the query directly in bitcoind also, works nice!

Well, your way would work too. But I think the best way to do cold storage is to use a completely new address/wallet.
1. Go to bitaddress.org 2. Cut the internet connection 3. Create a Paperwallet with BIP38 encryption. 4. Print that wallet. 5. Delete everything about that wallet. Also the printer chache (paranoid much?) 6. Open Bitcoin QT and send the Bitcoins you want to store to the Paperwallet.
Redeem: Open a fresh wallet at blockchain.info to redeem the paperwallet. Always send all BTC out of the address you are redeeming!

BlitzCoin will have block reward for only seven days! Approx. 10000 blocks. After that period, mining is only for tx fees.
we are now on block:10112! we're mining now for tx free or we're generating a new blocks? There were 500 empty blocks at the start (containing 1 BLTZ) that makes the 10000 full blocks end around 10500
