3942  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Do exchanges need mobile apps? on: March 29, 2020, 11:44:07 AM
I recently learned from an article that various instant exchanges have mobile applications that essentially provide the same functions as the web versions. I can understand when massive platforms like Amazon create their applications. The web version in the smartphone looks rather bulky and inconvenient to use. But here, all that the user is interested in is one page with exchange pairs and an exchange button. I was wondering, why do platforms with such simple functionality create mobile applications that duplicate the functionality of the site, if everything is implemented quite simply on the web? Surely, I am missing something, so I want to put everything in its place.

These days people are more online on mobile rather then on PC. Therefore we find that every good business or service has a mobile app. It will give you more business and customers if you also have a mobile app for your business.
Some companies make a lighter version of their web through mobile app.
3943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2021 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Play Offs | POSTPONED on: March 28, 2020, 05:20:17 PM
As the EURO has been postponed the same is going to happen with the Olympics.
Both of the events are huge. And if we say that EURO is not so big as Olympics and they are already postponed, the same is going to happen to them. We just have to wait for the official announcement.

Sorry if there's another topic for the Olympics - I know we spoke about it here as well so I'm giving some new info.
Delaying them as well is starting to become a reality, the committee will be meeting in order to discuss the delay - they will plan to postpone it for a whole year.

This one will really be hard to organize but it is a good call, considering the alternative (no fans, not all athletes participating etc.)

I think you should not discuss Olympics in this EURO thread. There is a separate Olympics 2020 Discussion Thread which you can express your feeling  about the postponed Olympics   Sad

Wow, I got this information from cloudbet that they are focusing on e-sports when the other sports are almost dead.
That's the only way we can fill in this space and time.

3946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: March 28, 2020, 04:21:08 PM
In short, is the martingale strategy in betting in such gambling games such as roulette and dice do really is effective strategy? For example, what if you are winning, and every time you win, you double your bets, and basically apply the martingale strategy, which is to double your bet when you lose.

Would that make a huge impact to your funds? I haven't tried it so far, but for me, I don't that is really effective as if we lose, we aren't really going to win right after, because there is still a possibility of losing once again.

The problem with this strategy is that if you keep on losing and every time you double your bet money, it will make your lose even more. And if you have limited budget, you will soon end up with shortage of funds for this investing double every time. This may work sometimes but one day it will make you lose all your money.
3947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese people, here they come on: March 27, 2020, 03:30:55 PM

Bitcoin not Safu haven, but People Seem to not Mind that

Not to promote this source bitbank, but according to them, the bloodbath or the recent bitcoin decline seem to be an opportunity for Japanese people to accumulate or buy more bitcoins. That is based from the number of people registering new accounts on the Japanese crypto exchange which is the bitbank.

Imagine, a 40 percent spike for the number of people is quite huge and KYC doesn't restrict that to happen. What does that mean?

For me, I know Japanese people's actions are so absolute and precise, they have huge discipline in many aspects that they take  and with regards to the recent market decline, I believe that they know what they are doing, and with that, accumulation of huge amount of cyptocurrency would be advisable for us to consider.

We all know that bitcoin is very near to halving and after every halving is a bull run for bitcoin. The current bitcoin prices are very tempting for buying it, if anyone has faith in crypto. Also these days i am hearing that carrying physical paper notes is also dangerous and this will lead to replace paper money to digital currency.
Japan was first few countries who adopted bitcoins and therefore Japanese people would not miss opportunity to buy bitcoins.

3949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guys avoid panic sell... on: March 27, 2020, 10:23:02 AM
Yes i agree guys you shouldn't sell your bitcoins just wait till this deadly disease is gone and wait for the market to recover i do believe that price of bitcoin will fuel up As soon as this virus thing is over and then would be the best time to sell DO NOT PANIIC guys just wait be patient.

I think no one is panic selling bitcoin these days and no one would want to sell it for cheap as its price is so very low. The problem is that majority of the people are in a lock-down situation and due to that they fear that the essential commodities  may become expensive or disappear from the market, so everyone is looking to buy extra goods and for that you need money and if you have saved money in bitcoins only, then they will have to cash out in order to fulfill their needs.
3950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL Mutual Pool Discussion. on: March 26, 2020, 03:37:46 PM
Any confirm news of IPL being cancelled this year or will they move it to 3rd or 4th quarter this year ?
There is no sign of coronavirus conditions getting better world wide and hence i have no clue when they will be planning to conduct this tournament.

LOL... Is it possible to have the IPL in Q4 2020, and then another edition just 3-4 months later? Do you expect the other cricket boards to agree to this? Also, there will be some viewer fatigue. If they move ahead with their plans for an IPL edition later this year, then the viewership figures for the next year's tournament is going to be really low. I know it is going to be very hard for the BCCI to part with all that money. But still I would tell them that cancellation is the best option they got right now.

Isn't it better to have some sort of tournament in the year rather than completely abandon it ?  If they can limit the duration of this year IPL and less matches are played between each team, then most of the problems can be solved. Cricket board will also agree to it, players will also get the money and the spectators will also enjoy the matches.
3951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020 Discussion Thread on: March 26, 2020, 10:55:32 AM
This is obviously a great decision and I don't see the need to debate this. Even if they decided to go ahead with it without any crowd, the athletes would risk their health just for our pleasure making it a stupid move overall.

Every major event that I know of has been cancelled or postponed to next year which is why I was not surprised to hear about the Olympics being postponed to 2021 at all. 2020 will be remembered for Coronavirus primarily and nothing else.

How is everyone sure that this covid-19 virus will disappear in 2020 and will never return. There can be a chance where in Feb / Mar 2021 we could see the virus again being activated due to cold seasons. I think this is too early to say when will the Olympics will resume. Also the crowd gathering may be ban for indefinite time.
3952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Olympics 2020 Discussion Thread on: March 26, 2020, 08:32:44 AM

It is very likely that Olympics may be postponed this year and maybe shifted to 2021.
Do you think this decision is good for the sports and the players and how it will effect the sports betting business ?
3953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Corona coins taking over on: March 25, 2020, 01:39:46 PM
For those who knew and though otherwise and for those who never knew, we have few Corona coins amongst us today and ain't just one, until now there are 3 known Coronavirus coins that I am aware of and here is the list

1. CORONA (CORONA)
2. CoronaCoin (NCOV)
3. Coronavirus Token (CNV)

None of these coins makes any sense to me and they are just another plot to scam those who knew nothing, if you have more you can drop I'ma will be glad to upgrade the list

Its strange that people are happy to name their coins on the deadly disease and virus. Do you know if any of these coins is listed on any exchange or people just created these coins for fun. After all it takes less than a dollar and few mins to develop a ERC20 token.
3954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Freewallet EOS Wallet reliable? on: March 24, 2020, 02:54:05 AM
I think the private key is as important as coin or tokens if you hold on freewallet you don't get the private key.
in simple words: No private key no control on your coins. please use that wallet which provides you private key

If you do not hold the private key, sooner or later you will find yourself in trouble. Even the genius say that if you do not hold the Private key , you do not hold the tokens/funds. I think we should avoid using freewallet or even if anyone uses it, only store minimal number of tokens there.
3955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Age restriction in gambling on: March 23, 2020, 05:59:59 PM
Knowing about the age restriction about gambling, and being applicable to online gambling as well. Is it really effective to limit the players? Because from my experience playing through different gambling sites, I don't see any that most of there are strict. They are just allowing you to create account and you can even fake your credentials to enter age above the limitation. There are some sites that don't really have anything to ask their players, and will allow you to directly play after your email has been verified. Yes, you have set your age in your email, but what if you exceed your age in your email as well?

That means, players of any age has really no restriction in gambling because of the weak regulation. Though, I don't like KYC to be a mandatory to every gambling sites. Maybe these sites could just improve or develop a system to detect if the players are really in legal age to play.

I could not think of any other way but KYC to verify if the one joining a gambling site is legit and of age, people want anonymity, and because the competition is very high in the online gambling sector they do away with KYC so, in reality, we'll never know if the one joining is of age and not a child who wants to gamble his allowance.

Either you do or implement KYC and lose your customers / players (because many gamblers do not want themselves to be disclosed who they are) or Do not make KYC compulsory and allow the under-age play the gambling. It's a trade off and you have to choose between the two.

I prefer no KYC on gambling sites and parents / elders looking after their kids activities and keep the check & balance on them. After all, if parents can't control their kid to avoid gambling, why would the gambling sites care who is playing and who is not. Also the purpose of the casino is to collect money and they don't care the age of people playing.

3957  Other / Meta / Re: Slow loading of bitcointalk forum on: March 15, 2020, 06:25:07 AM
Maybe you are the only person having a problem here, maybe people in your country. It could be an Internet connection problem in your country. A week ago, I met the same situation, but they eventually fixed it. I was online on this forum more than 12 hours yesterday, everything went well and there was no delay. Check your internet  Wink

Didn't get the clue to the temporary problem but since both bitcointalk and internet are working properly for last 12 hours, I am locking this topic to prevent the spam. Thanks for the advices everyone.  Smiley
3958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: March 15, 2020, 06:16:49 AM
Going back to Casimero vs Inoue, I'm sure organisers are looking ways to stage the fight without putting risk on boxing fans, I don't know how are they going to implement it, but we will see if they can make it happen as schedule so that we as boxing fans can still watch this very interesting and good fight.

They can't change the current set up, this is not possible without the fans watching them, so its either they postpone it or they will face the risk of being infected on the virus, the thing is, no matter how careful you are, there are still possibilities that the virus will spread, and this big crowd here, the risk is so high, if other sporting events like NBA are suspended, I would not be surprise here will be postpone.

This will be a disappointment for the fans if the match is postponed. People have been waiting for this fight for a long time and they will not want it to be postponed. The match is to be played on April 25 in Las Vegas and I do not want any bad news because of the coronavirus for this match. Lets keep the fingers crossed.
3959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do ? on: March 15, 2020, 05:45:30 AM
So lets say "hypothetically" that I've came across a bug in a pretty big an well-established gambling websites sportsbook that allows me to place bets on matches which have already ended , thus knowing the outcome and being able to place some sure x30-x40 betslips.

What path would you follow , report the bug ,   or try to benefit from it ?

It is better if you do not gamble on such bets. There can be an attempt to scam your money, as when you place the bet, the bet has no result and the site refuses to pay the money. If the site is a trusted one, this will never happen. Only the scammers will opt for this way to collect the money.

Do you have any live example where you face such bets yourself ?
3960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 15, 2020, 05:20:29 AM
COVID-19 is still spreading all over the world, there are so many people affected by the virus, there are a lot of people who can not work anymore because of being afraid to go outside.

We should do something to prevent COVID-19 from spreading to each and everyone, if we want to play gamble, please do not go outside and find any nearest casino building just to play. I know that real life casino is better when playing because we can interact to anyone and we can also feel the ambiance of the real life casino but as of this moment, it is better to play online gambling than real life casino, it is better for you to stay at home to avoid contact to many people.

Let us help each and everyone, by simply obeying our authority by staying at home, do not go outside. Let us start stopping the virus, it will all start with ourself.

COVID-19 is no doubt the biggest issue to date but gambling is only one thing which people can play while staying at home. There are other many important things like food, jobs, prayers etc for which people have to go outside even when it is not recommended. Gambling is just a hobby which can be avoided but life is getting locked down due to this virus, which is a major concern. Even people will not play gambling online, when they have other issues which I mentioned above.
