3961  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: B-Eleven sha-256 ASIC miner on: December 01, 2015, 05:37:48 PM

chrome translation I see chips will be in near Christmas or New Years

If true gear will be at least 1 month after that.  Lets say on my birthday Jan 27th.

So it is a waiting game for now.

Very intersting is there anything that tells efficiency?  I was thinking on miner they listed multiple speeds.  So I'm really curious what they do with this miner.

Really want to know efficiency to.
3962  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: December 01, 2015, 05:34:20 PM
Kind of off topic but has Bitmains minerlink ever worked?  Is it kind of an abandoned project or what?

i tried setting it up but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way to manage multiple antminers efficiently ?

Switched PDU(s) and Teamviewer with an extra computer on premise is an easy way.

Go with teamviewer it woks very nicely.  If you have a iphone or android smart phone it does have apps, where you can log into computer from phone.  This is a very nice thing when on the go.

As far as minerlink I don't think it ever turned into anything.  I think they have a IP scanner up on that site.. but nothing useful as far as controlling machines.
3963  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 01, 2015, 05:31:39 PM
Does anyone have an experience on installing any additional linux programs on the BBB sd card?

What are you wanting to add to it?  I mean there are some who have done custom firmware out there like smit.

But I'm not sure what else you would want to be installing.
3964  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Any real Antminer S7 competitor out there ? on: December 01, 2015, 05:27:18 PM
As of 1 December 2015, the only available close competition to the S7 for home miners is the Avalon 6.

The BW.COM (Lketc) B-Eleven should be showing up fairly soon, depending on how they price it might be better competition for the S7.

*IF YOU ARE A BIG BUYER" the Spondoolies SP50 might be actually available by now, with slightly better efficiency but unknown price competativeness.

*IF YOU ARE A MEGA BUYER* you might be able to get even better gear out of BitFury.

At this point, I am in "wait and see" mode, depending on how the B-Eleven ends up pricing out and it's final specs - and hoping for a major price war to ignite once Bitmain gets someone out there making HOME miners that is willing to compete on pricing. Nothing currently available has a realistic chance of RoI at my current electric rates, even if diff increases hadn't started going back into "sky-high" mode with the new miners pushing things right now - and I'm starting to wonder if 3c/KWH electric would be enough to ROI the "current generation" at it's way expen$$$ive pricing.

I think SP50's might be looking for mega buyers at first.  I have a feeling the first ones out they want to see quite a few of them before selling.  I also don't think we will know much I think once they do hit market most likely NDA's keep most quiet on it.

And you are right on bitfury you need to show up with a case full of money to get them.  It can be done though Bit-X bought 1 PH from them.  So if you buy enough it's possible they will sell to you.
3965  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to make btc faster throug mining? on: December 01, 2015, 05:24:03 PM
I want to know that how can i make btc faster through mining.
Is this the best way to make btc and from where does this btc comes to miners.?

--------------------------------------------------

Step 1

Learn how mining works....

Step 2

Buy a miner...

Step 3

Earn bitcoin...

--------------------------------------------------

Always know this.... There is no way to cheat the system & earn BTC faster than anyone else does....

Is it just me?? Or is the BTC price going up again coupled with the halving of the coin bringing out the usual bunch of rip merchants / scammers / get rich quick people??

mining is not for micro-miners...
I invite you to compare:
learn about probable profit with 0.01BTC

learn about 0.01 BTC invested in winspiral's U2cloudmining

invest where it is better...And you will not regret my advice if you invest in winspirals system or better...
But DO NOT INVEST in what is worser...

Take your bullshit ponzi scheme somewhere else, nobody is falling for it and we won't let new users get suckered into it either, no matter how much you pad the wording.

A U2 as in bitmain's U2?  That is pretty rediclous if your are claiming those usb's to be a cloud mining system... is that what your saying?

If so can you take a picture of the U2's? I want to see how many are in this "cloud".

Why do you need a picture?
Is an CMD window not enough?

Invest in my cloudmining and you will earn more than if you buy an U2 and mine for yourself.

Are you suspicious?
claim shares for free twice a day and you will benefit from it...

i'm not shamed to say that it is better to invest in my U2cloudmining than buying one and mine with it.

is having fun ridiculous?
perhaps...I have fun and if it is ridiculous...it does not matter.

You want know the profit of my cloudmining investors?
it is easy to know it:
Claim for free and follow the process in your account and you see if you have miss an opportunity (investing) or if you have take the good choice (not investing)

People are sometimes funny...
you are funny...(thanks)
I like funny people...(lol)

...PS:
if you had visited my 2ucloudmining site you had not ask your question because the answer is on the site.

I do not mean to be mean but with your rep I would not click any link from you.  It's nothing personal just with neg rep I don't touch your links as a general rule.

Why do you not want a picture of U2's on forums?  I feel you have a reason to hide it, maybe you don't have them, maybe you have just 1 or 2.  I think you are one with agenda not wanting to show them.  A picture of all the U2's is much harder to fake then CMD window.
3966  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to make Bitcoin home mining profitable again in 4 easy steps. on: December 01, 2015, 05:20:43 PM
While I am skeptical about the economics of it, at least the physics here are so much better than a "mining light bulb" (which really doesn't need the additional heat).

In a lot of cases it does not pay off.  We have had multiple people talk about the heated floors and using bitcoin water cooled miners to heat them.  But in the end  they never do it.

What it comes down to is cost.  And air is cheapest compared to other cooling methods.   You can easily use a miner as a space heater though.

Everyone at this point with a pick should be on the list who's picked.  If you are not or a mistake has been made.  Please say something and let me know.

Hey guys, I see you gave my pick to tss

I'm not sure how that happened. Sorry  about that, I'm happy you found another spot.     Best of luck to you.

3971  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: December 01, 2015, 08:13:58 AM

Is the cgminer-gekko version working on a device that is locked to mine at AntPool solo mode(forced)?

cgminer-gekko is for sidehacks compac sticks hooked to the usb.. it does nothing with the internal chip.. that still uses the cgminer that is compiled specific for it. unfortunately we cant update cgminer for that until we get the source code drivers.

I thought we would see a lot more from bitmain.  I figured a firmware update someday would show a lot.  But they seem to have backed off R1's.

I cant decide if they are just not focusing on them, or if they just wanted PR around time 21 inc was doing computer.   They beat 21 in my mind with router with chip vs RPI with chip (i know it has some software... but it's kinda lame from what I've seen).

I just can't figure out what they are doing with R1 currently.  I'm happy with my 1 so if they want to stop and make it a cool low production miner... i'm ok with that.

Yes very happy with my two, excellent value for money as a play thing, and I have a few ideas for some tweeks. There has been a lot of effort put into the design and still plenty of scope for improvements so I hope we see more from Bitmain. I still think all available effort has been and continues to be on the S7 particularly with Avalon out there now, BW.com on the horizon & the way the exchange rate is, makes the R1 low priority.

Rich

They really are fun to play with.  It is a toy to me to be honest.  I think if they don't make more..... maybe one day value goes up a little which I would not mind.   Or they are designing next product a R2 with even more power (that would be interesting to me).   But I feel most likely they are just focusing on bigger miner sales.

I love my R1's with crazy guy's mod as many here know Smiley. It gives you the bitmain GUI for setting up U3's and fixes zombies.  And still allows you to mine on antpool on lotto which I'm doing for fun as I like seeing stats not empty there.
3972  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Nov 23 to Dec 7 Set up stage- Picks Open! on: December 01, 2015, 07:51:12 AM
so there is a second peak? new rule? i would like to take +9.5 if not taken already

You and rich have been added below.

There should not be any second guesses.  If someone picks something already taken I have been putting them in one close and check if that is want.  But there should be no second guesses or new rule.   If someone has picked multiple and I somehow fell for it please point it out.   I don't think it's happened though.

There are a LOT waiting till later to pick with the smaller sections. So that is kinda fun it does not fill up day 1 on picks.  This allows much more to play and not have to pick right off.

3973  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earning BTC in a 3rd world country on: December 01, 2015, 06:54:17 AM
Hello everyone!
i am new to BTC. I am from Pakistan and finding it hard to start with the BTC. Any useful information how to start from scratch if i am from a 3rd world county? Thanks a lot in advance.

You can try to start with faucet, once you have earn good, maybe gamble ..

Faucets are cent's per hour at most.  Why suggest a person go into faucet?   I don't see it making any money.

Can you show a faucet that gained even 3rd world earnings?  And if it did.... how is gambling going to help?

Hmm, I'm from a third world country and I am a witness of newbie bitcoiners that were addicted to faucets. They seems like dedicated to it and post their respective (micro) "earnings" on Facebook (on a bitcoin related group). I once saw there's a proud faucet user that he earned 0.001 BTC in a week (and he seems happy with it) Grin When they already earned something like 0.001 btc or above, they start posting on what "investment" site they can invest and grow their precious satoshis. Some also do gambling on casinos, but mostly they want investing on HYIPs/ponzis.

Faucets were gold to them.

That's because their hourly wages are so small that even that 0.001 BTC matters. Most westerners don't understand that in some countries 1USD per hour is a decent wage.

Its either their wage was so small or they no have job at all. There are a lot of unemployed people here on our country and I find most faucet users have no job in real life and they choose to play faucets than browsing Facebook and YouTube all day Cheesy Some were also students looking to get extra money online in their spare time.

I don't know if I agree with students.   If your talking about getting pennies per hour... that is small for most students.  Even in third world countries I would think students have things better to do then get a few pennies a hour at most.

No matter how you justify it faucets do not pay enough for amount of time.  Unless you can live on a very few cents a day.
3974  Other / Meta / Re: Public list of yobit spammers(this one's gonna be long boys) on: December 01, 2015, 06:50:55 AM
Look at all the small post's today from  inget - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=205803

The posting habit went up dramatically today, just not normal amount of posts.  A decent amount of them are short.  What made me look was he bumped a dead thread for a post which did not help it at all - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1254556.msg13105570#msg13105570

Also showing up on Security Log - https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php - "Today at 05:13:38 PM - inget - password changed"

So my guess is sold account to a spammer/account farmer.    And this explains why crap posts and bumpng old threads

Seems like most of the times you see someone who has the same number of posts as the activity they are spammers, bought accounts with potential activity most likely or people farming accounts.

That makes no sense to me. If activity equals posts the user in question has made one post per day on average (or less). That might be an indicator for farmed accounts, but I dont think they are all spammers.

Most likely it was sold and is not being farmed is my guess.  Your right activity equals posts which I did not notice at first just that post amount up dramatically.  No they are farming account.

That plus password change means it's likely a sold account being farmed.  So guess was just spamming to get up to that activity level.
3975  Other / Meta / Re: hacked account on: December 01, 2015, 06:46:29 AM
thanks ranochigo for your help, i have sent the signed message to theymos. Waiting for his reply.

When was the last time you had access to your account?

I think the hard part is going to be to show account was not sold or something.  With someone currently using it we have 2 people claiming control I'm guessing.

It will be interesting to see what moderators do.  I think a simple locked out would be much easier then mod playing judge and jury to decide who owns an account.

usually u dont get back accounts, unless tooo trusted or a valuable member of the forum/
You do if you provide a valid proof(signed message from a staked address), so shut up and stop misleading others

just to make sure I keep my account safe in case something happens - what does it mean when you say "staked address" and how do you have a signed message. Sorry for this noob question just not understanding what exactly that means

If you have not done it go do it with a BTC address only you can sign with.  It is put in meta in the staked thread it helps prove you owned the account at time of posting the staked info.  If you get locked out or something it helps prove it's you.
3976  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 01, 2015, 06:20:11 AM
Hi! Just picked up 5 sticks, excited to hook em up!

I ordered this USB hub ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OJ79UK6/ref=s9_hps_bw_g147_i1 )

Just wanted to confirm it will power up all my sticks correctly, as well as power a rasp Pi 2 and 2 arctic breeze fans...

Thanks for the help!

From what I can read, its only a charging station.. get that and 5 Y power splitter cables and a 7 port/5 port USB hub..

It is only charging so good thing amazon has good return policy.  If at all possible if you just placed order try to talk to customer service and see if they can cancel it out before it ships.  If it just takes longer and shipping back.

But make sure in future to get a hub, not just charger.  A lot of these chargers have really great power... it's since they are meant to charge fast.  But if they have no data cable to go to computer... all you are left with is a charging station.
3977  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How do you get free power? on: December 01, 2015, 06:16:32 AM
Instead of a battery, could you use a capacitor to keep the power stable? Since its not like you'd be outputting your dam's power directly into the miner...
Perhaps, however remember that any reasonable ASIC bitcoin miner is going to be stepping power down from 12 volts to .5 volts or so for the hashing chip. Fluctuations in the incoming power supply will make the FETs work a lot harder (ie: hotter, blow up, etc) so it's in your interest to have a stable supply. A car alternator can put out 13.4 volts regulated from a wide variety of input values (because the field current can be regulated with precision) and that will make a good 12 volt 100ah battery run for a nice long time (5-10 years).

Thats not free, but thats certainly cheap in the scope of things. I had no idea, thanks for the information.

So you could easily feed current from a turbine, or solar panel into a battery and draw 12v from it at the same time? I was under the impression that a battery that could do 1000w would cost 400$+ per year, at list thats what i read on google.

I'm not sure the exact cost but it is not cheap.   So keep in mind you would also need extra panels.  You would be getting enough solar power to power miners during day and at night.  So it add's more parts.

It just is not going to be cheap no matter how you do it.  Most miners have quite a bit of watt's of gear so again expensive.  Compare that to getting cheap electricity, the cheap electricity always wins.

3979  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 01, 2015, 05:50:49 AM
Would love to see your recent Hash rate results Notlist3d as I have the same setup as you with the EVGA G2 1300w which I got from Ebay for cheap.  So basically will be same config and noise level.  I have no intention of over clocking for now.

Nhan

From my results I wish I had a PSU that went over 12 input voltage.   It seems the EVGA 1300 is a fine PSU but if your wanting top end your better off with a server PSU. Organ Mines gives a pretty good general rule if you want top speed - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1257327.msg13116803#msg13116803 . Also seems to be confirmed by Kilo17 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1239604.msg13029030#msg13029030

I still have some tests I would like to run on it.  One of the first on the list is try at different fan speeds and see what happens with the miner, I still have 20 percent default as it seems to work good.  I just want to test more as the more info the better.

But..... my time was spent in my main mining area today as I had a big fan go down.  Luckily I have extras they just weren't as nice. But still in warranty... so I will be testing Lowes warranty policy, but that is another story.

But there is testing to come Smiley
3980  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 01, 2015, 05:06:39 AM
Thanks for the info Oregonminer.  So are you recommending us to use 2 x 750w watt PSU to power the Avalon 6 and 16 Gauge Power cable correct.  I thought it's generally not recommended to use more than 1 PSU for 1 Miner?

one psu per blade  can work fine .

two blades means up to 2 psu's.

as for picking a psu not the antminer.

the dells are low cost
the dells are pretty loud
the dells are a bit power hungry
the dells are really pretty hard to kill off.

Sounds like you are doing 120 volts  So you could use the dells if you get a good deal.

you can use the evga 1300 if you get a good deal.

mine are using seasonic 1200 platinums but I got a good price for them.

I have got a EVGA 1300 on mine currently it seems to do fine.  But Phil is right if you can get a server PSU at decent deal normally they are cheaper.  And it seems some of the server PSU's have a higher input voltage.  I get pretty much 12 all day long with EVGA 1300, my lightning 1300 was 11.9-12 it varied.  I have seen screenshots from server psu's showing higher imput voltage, meaning a overclock.
