3961  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do with my bitcoins ? on: July 01, 2017, 09:53:01 PM
At the moment I wouldn't even use BTC as a currency, I know that's one of the sad things right now due to the TX fees and I hate to be the one to say this as I do advocate for BTC to be used as a currency but at the moment you could either use it as an investment or just get out entirely. Until the miners and everyone comes to an agreement on working out the network congestion, I just wouldn't be in for the long haul with this unless you're ok with having your money exposed to such a high volatility rate.

I'd sell and just sit around, either you win or lose on this depending on what the price does.
3962  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Keep your fiat at hand in order to buy new bitcoin on: July 01, 2017, 06:54:18 PM
You could use Coinbase or something along those lines which allows you to have a USD wallet, that pretty much gives you the ability to buy in and out of Bitcoin at any moment without having to wait for a bank transfer or something like that. It's always nice to have that there, I think other exchanges allow it as well such as BTC-E and there are probably more of these, it'll just take some digging on your part.

It's not too hard, you just have to find a reliable exchange as well which is going to not just go down in an instant.

I use localbitcoins and bwni to bank transfer with a trader using the same bank. It is instant. No seriously it's instant. It's amazing for a Bank. I just wait for the bitcoins to go through and done. So I can buy bitcoins or sell them on the fly within 30 minutes and sometimes as low as 5 Smiley

LBC is going to help you have the money be in instantly, this person wan't to buy on the actual instant without fees.
3963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: July 01, 2017, 06:28:58 PM
The big thing that everyone in the community right now is hoping for is that the miners are going to come to some sort of conclusion, be it on Aug 1 or be it whenever to be able to fix the present problem which is going to be the insane amount of fees that everyone is paying right now. It's bound to be fixed at some point because people just aren't going to use nor be introduced to BTC at the moment because of the fact that the fees kind of heed the currency useless.

I'm not going to say it's a waste, but people aren't going to use the currency unless it's incentivized in some way personally for them. That's just how the world works and how it's going to continue to work, you can't stop that out of people.
3964  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bitcoin 'faucets' and 'free bitcoin' apps on: July 01, 2017, 06:01:33 PM
No one is going to make money from these sort of things, at least any money that's going to be worth the insane amount of time that you're going to be wasting while using it. The only thing I could see out of all of this, is that the people who run those facuet draining automated CAPTCHA solving bots are going to make money, and that's really going to be it.

With the amount of faucets which are there and google ad-words not allowing these faucet sides to be using them I don't even know if the facuets are even making money these days, I'd be one to come out and say that I doubt they're even making money.
3965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin about the free world, but not for us in the Middle East! on: July 01, 2017, 05:46:09 PM
Well the big thing when it comes to these companies is that they're going to be regulated by the governments in which they work inside, so you can't be mad at the companies from trying to mitigate the amount of risk they're going to be opening themselves up to. They simply want to make a buck but they're going to have to follow the governments KYC stuff in order to do it, it sucks but that's how all of this works these days and there's nothing anyone can do about it unless you want to buy a higher fee on LBC or Paxful, which is going to help you avoid some of the KYC stuff though you're going to get hit with a higher profit margin from the seller of these coins.

Take one tradeoff for another here and think about it.
3966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin for Retirement on: June 28, 2017, 07:08:36 AM
While this would be something which is nice, when you think about it the volatility would be something that retirees wouldn't want to expose themselves too. They want to be able to get a set return or a set range of returns on a monthly basis to be able to be fine with the money that's coming in, once they have that these people should be happy and that's all. Sadly enough, this isn't possible with Bitcoin and they'd practically be getting killed with the volatility that is present by maybe making good money one month, then poof all of it's gone cause the miners flipped shit and all the coins are worth $20

So, never.
3967  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Poll] How many people on BitcoinTalk are licenced to carry firearms ? on: June 28, 2017, 06:29:15 AM
Sadly, I live in the NE area of the United States where gun laws are typically stricter and the only real way to get a handgun is to be own a business which transcates a lot in cash-- that's the only way they really grant Concealed Carry licenses. Though, because I do live in the US I am able to buy rifles and guns along those lines just no handguns.

Sucks, but I'd rather not move to another state and miss out on the opportunities here simply because of a gun license. I've gone shooting down in Florida though, down there it's insanely easy to get a license like that.
3968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “No Religion” Is Now Officially Australia’s Top Religion on: June 28, 2017, 05:54:06 AM
Wow, at first I fully thought that this was one of those bullshit pieces that people try to go on every so often to try to belittle religion on this forum. But, no this is actually a true fact and is something that is true. While the wording may be the part that got me, I had thought as if you added all the other religions together NO RELIGION would still come out on top. This part isn't true, but insane to see people going against the norms of society and not believing in what everyone else has done SINCE THE START OF TIME.

GO AUSTRALIA!
3969  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trumps Travel Ban? (Round 2) on: June 28, 2017, 04:45:41 AM
And the Supreme Court has no brought it back under an unanimous decision of the justices, they also came out and said that the federal courts under them had been overreaching their boundaries and shouldn't have done this. So I would be considering this a big win for the GOP and Trump in general.

Probably going to be something that's gonna set a precedence with the federal courts and executive actions of this order as well.

3970  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe in the Reptilians? on: June 28, 2017, 04:02:54 AM
Only time I could see humans actually being the first to come to this sort of dumb conclusion is if they were tripping MAJOR amounts of acid, and I don't mean like dropping one, I mean like to the point of almost dying. Where in gods name do people even come up with these sort of conspiracy theories now, like come on some of the first few people made up made me think but this one makes me just want to leave the earth for Mars and never return-- ever.

So, that'd be a NAY from me on believing in the Reptilians.
3971  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is the most aggressive country on: June 27, 2017, 10:10:13 PM
Even while being the most aggressive country, it's not like they're really getting anything out of it. They're military is old and failing, the economy in Russia is absoluetly so bad that the President (Putin) had to go to the extreme of invading another country and showing that they're winning at something to be able to convince the people that they're not a failing country. The only reason Russian had been doing good up to around 2012 was due to OIL being so expensive, now with the downturn of that the country is failing and they don't know what to do.

Most aggressive-- more like the biggest talker out of all the countries. If the US wanted to though, they could flatten them in .2 seconds.
3972  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What if Big Oil mining devoted all resources to Bitcoin Mining? on: June 27, 2017, 09:01:12 PM
Well, even if this is something that would be amazing to see it wouldn't work number 1 as Big Oil wouldn't delve into something as profitability and unpredictable as Bitcoin, it simply wouldn't be worth it for them to lose out on all of the influence and such that comes with Oil to come to a controversial area of a currency like Bitcoin.

ANYWAY, lets do say that Big Oil did some here and setup BILLIONS in miners. That's lead to the centralization issue of mining that all of us thought and think is going to lead to the death of Bitcoin, because they're going to try to pull every single last OUNCE of profits out of Bitcoin and then they'll simply just leave it once they're done with that.

So, it wouldn't happen and it'd lead to a horrid centralization issue.
3973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the ticket to heaven ... on: June 27, 2017, 07:58:34 PM
God, I hate to be the one that comes in here and continues to be the bearer of bad news when it comes to Bitcoin. But you people are really going to have to chill with the whole 'we're going to the moon' or '10K 10K!' and all that bullshit. I really do hope most of you aren't even thinking that that statement even has 1/2 of a true side of it, do you really think that people are going to pump this currency to 10k in it's current state?

Fees are eating us all alive, adoption is at an all time low, we can't agree on a fucking consensus thing, congestion, and so on and so forth. Once the problems are fixed and innovation is established, MAYBE, but at it's current state I don't think Bitcoin is the ticket to heaven and I think we should stick with something else until the kinks are worked out.

The server is a laptop without antivirus and firewall.
All important information is stored on the server.

The firm should pay up the $300 ransom and hopefully they will get their data back. Then they should hire an IT guy who is able to set up a server that is not residing inside a laptop in the first place.

This is probably going to be your best bet as the $300 amount is pretty low in all honesty and if the encryption / hacker people aren't going to be dicks and would want to just give your stuff back once they've received payment then you should be all fine and dandy, though first you may want to see how much one of those data recovery people cost before going through with payment. I highly doubt that the recovery of the data is going to cost less than $300 though, so that's probably going to be your call on if you want to feed the virus and roll the dice or roll the dice with people who'll try to get your data back.

Good luck!
3975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening ? = all coins down by 20 to 35 % on: June 27, 2017, 06:26:07 PM
Nothing relating to news coming out but something like this was bound to happen when it comes to altcoins, you can't be expecting growth like this to continue for THIS LONG. We're just sitting here while all the altcoins were hitting more and more all time highs-- it was bound to all come crashing down at some point, and personally I think this is a small crash that isn't something that's really going to stop them. But in the future we're going to see something like an insane bubble popping with tons of billions being lost in this, who knows when, but it will come at some point.

Nothing yet, but come soon will be the big collapse.
3976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's small merchants accepts bitcoin on: June 27, 2017, 05:46:14 PM
this is why i believe regulations are going to be good for bitcoin. it simply leads to a lot of real adoption. and we have already seen it with Japan and how their regulations led to many merchants accepting bitcoin. and the same will be true about other countries.

That's not the right way in the least to be using the word regulations, regulations are things that are going to try to simply REGULATE something. Adoption is what's going on in all of this and I highly doubt the adoption is happening at a rate that people are happy nor is it really happening at a very high rate at all. Maybe some merchants will tease that they'll be accepting it but it's not going to make a difference to them unless they can find out that they'll be losing money by not accepting Bitcoin-- that's when the real change come in.

This is nothing.
3977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how and where can i get these fancy bitcoin wallet addresses ? on: June 27, 2017, 05:01:22 PM
Yeah, as the guy above me said I'd refrain from letting a website play any part in making this address in the least. The last thing you're going to want is to be losing money just because you wanted some dumb address with your name or nickname in it and couldn't just take the time to do this all by yourself.

Make the addy by yourself, never trust anyone with your private keys! This goes with anything and not just vanity addresses.
3978  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do you plan to sell? on: June 27, 2017, 02:04:05 AM
May come as a sad fact to a ton of people on here, I've already sold and have fully gotten out of Bitcoin months before any of this crazy stuff started to come out with BTU, not being able to agree on scaling solutions, and so on and so forth. I did make good money on Bitcoin, I'm happy and will continue to be happy with what I made, yes I could've made more but with that sense of greed it could go with any sort of asset that I purchased and sold too early. Any more Bitcoin which I get these days is sent to a Coin-base address which is instantly converted and I have no problem there, I'm not keen on exposing myself to this much volatility.

Good luck all!
3979  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have a future? on: June 27, 2017, 12:00:37 AM
Bitcoin does have a future, though I do think Bitcoin is going to have to adapt to be able to be accepted by people and for people to join in on adopting it as a currency. This is due to the fact that people aren't going to be keen on paying a high amount in fees on a currency which is rarely accepted in places, when they can use their credit / debit card with no fees (given they're paying on-time and have no fees) It's a tough sell on people, and with the current state of network congestion and rising fees I don't think it's going to be something we're able to sell to people.

Only way I can see this happening is that if massive innovation comes to Bitcoin alongside a high amount of compromise when it comes to some sort of scaling solution.
3980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you in favor of same sex marriage? on: June 26, 2017, 10:11:42 PM
This is one of the issues that I really don't have a concern with in the least, I'll support same-sex marriage simply because I don't think anyone should be concerned with that two of age consenting adults are doing in the bedroom. I just feel as if government and people should leave that to the last of the concerns on their list, as theres probably a lot more pressing issues on this earth then getting involved in peoples lives like that.
I am not in support of same sex marriage, my country is strongly against it . Let look at it this way, if every one engage in same sex marriage who will give birth to the next generation of human race.

While this is an argument that many talk about, we're not saying that EVERYONE will engage in same-sex marriage. This happening is unheard of and isn't going to occur, based on percentages same-sex marriages are going to be the minority so we're not going to have an issue with the next generation of the human-race being born.
