3981  Other / Meta / Re: Would you like to see ChangeTip working here and in forums generally? on: March 11, 2015, 02:50:26 PM
As per title question... What is your opinion? Would you like to see ChangeTip working here and in forums generally? Do you think it will happen and if so, how could it be implemented?

This is the reply of theymos :

I've thought about that before, but I think that there might be legal problems with that. It might make the forum a "money transmitter".

I think that was regarding this forum implementing their own one, not a third party one like changetip (though I could be wrong and he was answering to both options, but if Reddit has no problems then hopefully this forum wouldn't either).

Either implement changetip to the forums or create an internal changetip function. Would also be great if it supported like the top 20 altcoins.

You are right, but do you really think theymos will implement changetip (a third party site, not an internal one)? I hope he will add this feature in the new forum software, I do not think it is difficult or am I wrong?

3983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guard your Bitcoin with Stainless Steel Cold Storage on: March 11, 2015, 02:25:47 PM
I like the idea of a stainless steel cold storage, but it is much expensive. A simple paper wallet "guarded" safely is also better and it is "free". Instead the possible cost of that steel cold storage is "... between a bottle of rum and pair of sneakers."  = ~ 150-200 dollars (I suppose).
3984  Local / Mining (Italiano) / Re: RICHIESTA INFO ASICS S4 2Th on: March 11, 2015, 12:49:13 PM
Calcolo energetico

The S4 runs at 0.69 W/Gh/s power efficiency
0.69*2000 = 1.38KW

nell'arco di una giornata
1.38KW*24 = 33.12

costo di una giornata 24/24 (tariffazione media di 0.22)
33.12*0.22 = 7.286€

Ottimo !

By not paying for spammy posts he will not attract spammers, leaving room for people who make higher quality posts, which will increase the overall effectiveness of the campaign
That's one problem. Whether the post is considered spammy or is only the manager's choice and the participants are not being told which of their posts were disqualified.
The other is the length of posts. If it was only about spam I wouldn't even start the argument, but it seems most posters were paid less than they should because their posts, according to the person who counted them, were too short. I guess that's it, we'll see how they do next week. Smiley
Well it seems to be your argument for the manager to pay for all posts despite their spam status, which is obviously not the solution. If you are making a lot of one liners then you are more likely to have few/none of your one liners paid for, while on the other hand if you have mostly posts that you put a lot of effort into then a very short post would be more likely to be paid out. Yes that is not treating everyone exactly the same when deciding when to pay a specific post however the one liner is more likely to be looked at closely if written by someone who has a reputation for putting effort into their posts verses someone who has likely made their ways to many people's ignore list for posting crap

Yes of course, at the end each of use have a "different" meaning of the word spam. A online of post is not a real spam, it depends also of the time between a post and the other. There are different variable/factors and the manager make the sig. campaign rules (if someone don't like the rules " he can always leave").
3987  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is an imaginary concept, but humanity is enslaved by it on: March 11, 2015, 11:08:37 AM
Will you live without money? I think the answer will be "No". It is a big problem to resolve and I think it will pass a lot of years maybe centuries before that there will be a real "change". We need a real revolution, that has to start from the citizen (maybe better to call it not citizen but human).

Great, that's the purpose of this thread: I want to research, what kind of thing can be used as a standard unit of value universally?

I have thought about many different candidates like air/water/food/time/energy to use as currency, but later I found out that value is all subjective, once you get enough of the currency, their value will drop for you

So the way to make currency's value stable is to make the demand infinite, e.g. make most of the people poor, then the currency will become stable

Or the other way: To make the supply side extremely constrained, thus no matter how small the demand is, the value never drops, just like those art paints and antiques

Another consideration: It may not be important to be stable, it just need to be predictable. For example, with bitcoin as currency, a long term appreciation against other things is guaranteed due to limited supply, thus people could easily reach a consensus about this character, then it can be used as a benchmark to measure value, since everyone knows that the value of this benchmark itself increase at a predictable rate

We can use whatever we want as a standard & universally unit of value. Remember that everyone has the right to issue his own money, I'm not obligated to accept euros, dollars, yen, etcc for my "service" o for buy and selling things ; this is the craziest thing in the state, you were born and you have accepted automatically all the rules of the state contained in the "social contract" this is not "democratic".

However I haven't a valid answer yet, but I have already explained my thought. Thanks for the attention.
3988  Local / Off-Topic (Italiano) / Re: Nuova Repubblica Veneta - Split on: March 11, 2015, 10:55:47 AM

Non so come funzionò in Scozia sinceramente. Hanno voltato solo gli scozzesi?

Ps.

So it seems quite confirmed that redisn0w was incorrect about needing the phone number only for sign-up.  You do need it for withdrawal and other actions which means that finding an internet one-time sms wouldn't help.  Anyway, I don't know if it's worth it to put a note on your OP about the .5% fee and the telephone number for the bit-x campaign.

I have requested my bitcoins today, and I haven't put any "second" confirmation code. I have only put the first sms code when I have logged in the site.

3992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 50,000 BTC of auction have been sent! on: March 10, 2015, 11:10:49 PM
Sorry if it's been answered but I only skimmed through the first page. What were these coins sold for? Please tell me it's going to cover for the $300 difference.
It's probably sealed under secret, they aren't forced to disclose the price that the coins sold for.

Yes that is obvious but maybe the winners (or someone of him) will tweet something, as in the old auction. We have only to wait a couple of days and we will know the name of (at least) one of the auction's winner.

Payment received on the exchange!!!
Happy to heard that  Wink and will post after a while list of next users to be paid .

So I presume that I will receive the payment tomorrow (due my second registration)? Can you confirm my thought, thanks.
Yep you will be paid tomorrow !

So everyone that was on that list will be paid tomorrow?
I was on that list but received a pm from the bot on march 3rd saying I joined. IM CONFUSED..

Have you re-enrolled again (using the site : http://bitsig.website/beta/)? If the reply is "no" , it is normal. The bot has counted your first day "the 3 of March).

Ps: I suppose, I don't know how the bot works.

Oh great, I am happy for you.

Payment received on the exchange!!!

Nothing here, yet Smiley

The same here, maybe the problem is that I am registered again for the second time due to this bug : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=877765.msg10651417#msg10651417

Good idea, added.

Hey Mitchełł, can you also remove the 0.10 bitcoin bonus part? It seems the bonus was removed, due to the weekly payment and also due the removal of the min. limit of posts necessary for receive the payment.

Thanks for the attention.
3998  Economy / Speculation / Re: I predict I will never make any money... on: March 10, 2015, 08:38:38 PM
He hasn't logged in since 22 February. That's what you get for betting a guy with 70 posts.
I'm sure if he won, he'd be all over the forum bragging and quoting that convo. Now he'll just abandon the account and look to make another bet.  Undecided

This is why you use escrow for these sorts of bets. It's never official until you shake on it ie send money to escrow) but he was likely never serious anyway.

... or maybe the use of oraclize, with a sort of "bet" on blockchain using a multiSig address. This is the thread here in the forum(italian language, because it is an italian project) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=958619.0

Without conivolge any escrow user.

Thanks for the attention (maybe I will join the IRC channel).
