3981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is PoS dead? on: September 24, 2014, 04:09:42 PM
Don't rule out PoS so quick. PoW (aka Bitcoin) will suffer SERIOUS problems in the future. So PoW is not out of the question, or at least we may need a PoW alternative.. not sure how will this turn out.
3982  Economy / Economics / Re: what happens when all bitcoins are mined ? on: September 24, 2014, 04:01:40 PM
The price should be going up at the end right?

To the contrary. From what I understood, at the end of the mining stages the price should be extremely stable and very high, like a 1 million dollar per coin minimum, if everything went accordingly and adoption happened. We will all be dead by then so whatever.

I've been wondering how would such news impact on the price for years. We'll see, we've had good news lately and the price keeps stagnating. Will there be an actual "pay with BTC" button in ebay? if so, when.

So Dark wallet is an unavoidable tool for all of us!
This. Tools like Dark wallet will be developed to protect your privacy. Anyhow, by the time fiat is dead and crypto rules the financial world, I expect we will be very near our transcendence of capitalism.

I don't think the world will tolerate a second round of fascism, which is what we are developing now with the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of mega-corporations.

And what's your take on what comes after capitalism? Capitalism has obviously big weaknesses, like, there's no mentally sane reason to justify the Rothchilds wealth, but similarly, even tho a lot of people got rich with Bitcoin for no other fucking reason than luck, at least the system isn't rigged at the level of being able to create magic money out of a machine like they do now with FIAT. Sure, we'll have assholes that got rich randomly with Bitcoin flaunting their wealth and implying it was their skill, God or whatever that got them there just to not accept the fact they got rich out of luck, but again, the system is backed by math in the sense of not being able to multispend or create new coins.

But of course, this cant be the last stage of humanity. If the last stage of humanity is being stuck with Bitcoin means we are doomed.
3985  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why btc will die on: September 24, 2014, 03:16:09 PM
My fear is that people realize cold storage is pretty much the only safe way to keep your coins SAFE, so as a natural result if people cares enough to go and buy some BTC, what would happen is they would not spend them, just hoard them, just like no one buys groceries with Gold. In this sense, BTC would never be a currency. Having BTC in your money is a big risk. Going to a vacation and leaving your computer there (your cold storage) is a big risk. Carrying around an USB with your entire life savings is a big risk..
3986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin craze dying down? on: September 24, 2014, 03:08:03 PM
The end of bitcoin is coming Cheesy
Whats the point of messages like this? The end of Bitcoin will be when it hits 0 and no fucking using it. If massive adoption happens and Bitcoin is like 1 dollar.. so what? What matters is the use of it, not its speculative value. Even tho, mass adoption is linked with higher price anyway.
3987  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6 things bitcoin introduced to us on: September 24, 2014, 03:00:43 PM
Basically anything about the economy. I was totally unaware of economical terms in general. Thanks to Bitcoin i've learned a lot. Back in the day I didn't even knew what FIAT money was, now I know its strenghts and weaknesses and how BTC has a legitimate role in there.
3988  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it the right time to invest on BTC on: September 24, 2014, 02:54:37 PM
Buy when price is low.

We failed to break the 420, and no sign to drop to the next level sub-300.

Buy when price was sub 1000 was bad, now is at least better
Look who we have here. You sure can tell us what's the right time to invest in BTC right. When are you going to pay everyone?  Tongue
3989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What percentage of your BTC should be kept in cold storage? on: September 24, 2014, 02:45:56 PM
100% for sure, look at the past news, what we've had? The cloud, no thanks, look at all the celebrities getting their shit reelased. Exchanges? No thanks, sooner or later, everyone has gotten fucked overy exchanges, Mt Gox being the biggest fraud of all times in terms of exchanges being closed and money never being delivered back. With Bitcoin, unless you are storing your stuff on an offline computer, you are at risk.
3990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to earn some quick btc on: September 24, 2014, 02:35:43 PM
There is no quick money.  Your best options sound like selling goods and services.

How are you supossed to do this tho, if you are already working fulltime? Unless you are unemployed or something, I don't see people caring that much to own some satoshis.
3991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What up with that? on: September 24, 2014, 02:24:58 PM
I learned about Bitcoin back in the day when it was in Fox news when the price surpassed Gold. Everyone I know associates Bitcoin with speculation, unfortunately.
