Ripple = centralized

nough said.
At the moment

Waves = centralized

Full node code is closed sourced. Only full nodes being run by the Waves team right now. And what makes matters worse, is that the terms of the escrow have been met; so they are already withdrawing funds from the escrow address.
People who bought into this should be concerned, since we are entirely at the mercy of the Waves team. They can withdraw all of their funds and close up shop, if they should so desire.

From what I see, not a single Satoshi has been moved out of the escrow address, meaning they are still not using the huge funds they now have access to.
Waves team may be behind schedule, but it does not mean the project is bad, Lisk had several delays and was first announced at the end of April. I think Ethereum too had similar delays.
You can not expect a 100x ROI in the first day of trading, it takes time to reach those hights.

Have you clicked the link? Here's the link in another format. https://blockchain.info/address/3DWBSSAue32YS8PcW2gLs6m52BCCv3UgDA
It is clear as day that they moved 2961BTC on block 416552.

I have a good idea: Sell me all your coins (if you have any) at ICO price and let me take you out of this misery and save you from being "scammed"  Roll Eyes

First of all,  I made clear in one of my posts that I am not comfortable with this type of trading.

...snip... I suppose I could go to the market thread and look for a buyer, but I've never traded like that before, and am not comfortable with it.

Second of all, I am a "proud" owner of a few of these bad boys.

It's apparent to me, that you feel that you and the Waves team are beyond question. Perhaps my investment is chump change; but I have every right to critique anything that I find myself involved in.
Maybe I would have been less alarmed if I didn't see this transaction, today.
I really don't know you or anybody on the Waves team. Now that I fully realize we investors are totally at your mercy, with little recourse; why on Earth should I feel totally comfortable with this vulnerable position?  I'd think twice being this financially vulnerable to my own mother, much less someone that I never met who is half way around the world.
Also, your team should learn that you should under promise and over deliver. This is what you get when you try to dazzle us with all the promises and don't follow through. You may have really legitimate reasons why you couldn't fulfill the target dates. However, I get the feeling we've been thrown a sales pitch and the only type of person that I would believe less right now, is a used car salesman.
First of all, You should  google "critique", and then try to match your completely unconstructive posts to it's meaning.

About the bitcoins released: The criteria of escrow funds release is crystal clear on the OP, which you could check right now.

2. a criticism or critical comment on some problem, subject, etc. My post fully satisfies this definition.
Also, I do realize the Waves team has fully met the criteria spelled out in the escrow. I overlooked that part and now realize my own folly. All we have to rely on now is the Waves teams scruples to deliver anything else. I guess it's "caveat emptor."
I'll leave you all alone for now. However, it has been pointed out that Sasha has indicated a new target of the June 20th for a Bittrex listing. This better mean 2016, although not explicitly indicated.  Cheesy If the target is not met, rest assured, this little fly is going to come back and comment some more. Kiss

the bullshit on this forum is overwhelming..
people think dev would disappear (like he even really could dissappear) with what ...$1.9 million.
that kind of money is chicken shit if you want to live incognito forever.
small thinking....
i would hope sashas goals are more grandiose.... like oligarchy wealth, which this project...could potentially reap.

It's 22 mil and yeah you can't run away with that much. No worries waves team will come through the delays and bittrex only at this stage are the only disappointments but not the end.of the world.  Poloniex and kraken very shortly after would be best though.

D. B. Cooper disappeared with a lot less. Cheesy You may not live an absolutely lavish lifestyle, but if you wanted to go incognito, would you really want to be too lavish? Also, there are plenty of countries in this world where one could be rest assured that they would never be extradited or prosecuted there. 22 Million USD is plenty.

Wow, what a strong network. The only full nodes running right now are controlled by the Waves team.   Cheesy
You've addressed yourself; It is a network. No mention of full node code being released is made in the criteria. The code has been reserved in order to allow the team to quickly fix the network in case there are any imminent problems quickly.

You do realize that we are now at the full mercy of Sasha and the Waves team. That's really not a comfortable place to be in this space. We can only hope that Sasha and the team have some scruples. This would be a rare quality in this cutthroat community of alts. Thank God that I only risked .3 BTC in this long shot. If Sasha pulls this through for us, he should quickly become canonized as a saint, after he passes.

Oh darn, I just swore off ICOs a couple of days ago and was waiting to liquidate the last of my holdings in this nonsense. I suppose I could go to the market thread and look for a buyer, but I've never traded like that before, and am not comfortable with it.
I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere in this thread. But Waves hit a true milestone today. It was the first time they spent funds from the escrow address.
Wow, 2961BTC!  2500BTC all went to one output. And digging around in the block explorer leads one to the conclusion that it is now thoroughly spent.
I sure hope Sasha spends his time making sure the Bittrex exchange can launch on the 20th. 2500BTC sure can buy a lot of hookers and blow. Don't party too hard, Sasha. We need you! Roll Eyes

hahaha DEV allready taking out 2500 BTC of ICO fund to enjoy and people cant even get their waves on an exchange yet! hahahahaha! They wont even ever! WAVES is a worthless empty token created out of thin air, why should dev care anymore he is allready super rich Cheesy

So many delusional people here still thinking Waves are for real. You gave all your money away to one single russian guy people! hahahahah!

Escrow terms are clear enough.

Will we ever find out how this money is being spend? This is a considerable amount and I actually would like to know!

I tried to follow the transactions. The output for 2500 BTC quickly gets sent to a multitude of other addresses. The transaction is too fresh to go digging with WalletExplorer the last time i checked.

are the altcoin discussions of such shitty quality

?
Spoetnik et al.

Op posts a one line question and then Minecache chimes in with a post containing three whole words. These two posts are not quality posts by any stretch of the imagination. If you are going to complain about post quality, you better step up to the plate and show us how it is done.

I know that I'm being trite. But the good old idioms always convey the message.

~~

When Satoshi Nakamoto created bitcoin, he also unleashed a magical protocol upon the world. For the first time in history, people could use digital money without a financial intermediary.

And since the protocol was open source, it quickly made its way into other projects commonly known as “alternative currencies.” These are the grandchildren of Satoshi - the next generation of digital money.

It might sound a little cheesy, but gentlemen you have found yourself in the right place at the right time in history. Make the most of your opportunity.

~~

You are correct. We are in the right place at the right time in history.  Operation ICO Scam Cleanup Phase III 2016 is just beginning. Many will throw up their greedy grubbing hands in despair, and proclaim that Spotnik is correct. The words of the enlightened will serve to vaccinate the community from these scourges that continuously mutate and multiply. Many of these "grandchildren of satoshi" are also the spawn of scammers and schemers. They must all be eradicated as quickly as possible!
Community members of the world, unite. Throw off your chains!

when trade start? 14th June?

Exchanges June 14

So was mxxxxxx not the official voice on here for a while? States clear as day, exchanges June 14th. Cheesy

What really really needs to happen is:

ONE TIME, a coin that raises millions of dollars needs to launch on time- I mean that would truly be ground breaking.  This is the second "missed deadline" with Waves.

you guys are ridiculous...   look at the timeline and look at the official announcements.

Waves team has come through with all their promises, the only problem has been the interpritation of their dates.
Waves team said they would roll out their api on the 14th, not that exchanges would be ready.

stop all this thread TROLLing and read what has actually been announced.

When you have invested as much money as I have in Waves you let me know.  I would say that my comment is far from trolling and more about my investment.  To prove you wrong I will back up my statement with FACTS:
1- ORIGINAL Launch day was June 1 which was postponed in light of LISK's miserable launch.
2- Look at the image below - I am CERTAIN it says "June 14 Trading Starts"

NOW STFU

Maybe "JUN 14 Trading starts" is some cypher that we need to get a Turing machine to crack. Cheesy

Can someone from Slack chat confirm if friday exchange launch is true?

Thanks.

Even if it comes from the slack channel, it's not true until it actually happens. It's abundantly clear that the Waves teams view any dates they give as targets rather than deadlines. I'm just wondering, is anyone here actually interested in using the Waves platform in the future? Do you really believe this is going to be the best alternative to centralized altcoin exchanges?
3997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Act. Time to Buy ETH. on: June 15, 2016, 01:25:52 AM
This really is everyone's last chance to purchase Ethereum tokens at a reasonable price. The price is exploding upwards as more and more people discover Ethereum and its limitless potential. The only trouble is that you need to act now and take decisive action if you'd like to now own a respectable amount of ETH.

It's time to act. It's time to buy ETH.

This is your last wake up call.

I just got done dumping these tokens, yesterday. I have some dust left. I'll buy ETH again when I actually find a use for them. Come up with a DAPP or smart contract that I actually have some interest in using. I'll be the consumer that you ETH bagholders dream of having. And no, whatever that Pyramid scheme you have in your signature doesn't qualify as something that I absolutely must have. Cheesy
3998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is waves going to wait 6 months till trading on: June 15, 2016, 01:15:58 AM
I think the team must be waiting til halving ends so they will have more btcs. making its value grow. don't you think they're doing us the favor?  Grin

I think the team is having trouble getting their full node program to work properly.  It's really a stick in my craw since I was really wanting to swear off ICOs altogether. I really need to get this last monkey off my back. Maybe this with be the ICO  where I get left holding the bag. It will serve as a reminder of what shit these ICOs are.

3999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a long-term strategy to deal with "lost" bitcoins? on: June 14, 2016, 06:16:14 AM
Why should there be any strategy? People need to take care of their property. BTC lost means less BTC in the market which translates to a higher price.

One of the biggest strong BTC points is scarcity and limited number.

So, PLEASE make sure to protect your property.

Unfortunately, every way to store your Bitcoins is not fail safe. The data can be destroyed or stolen. You could try redundancy, so that your risk of it being totally destroyed is negligible, however; each copy that you make increases the chance of theft...
Also, if you make it too safe, if you die unexpectedly, no one will be able to recover your coins. However, if you share the access of coins with other(s), betrayal can be a bitch. Remember, the person in the best position to betray you, is the one you trust the most. Cheesy
4000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a long-term strategy to deal with "lost" bitcoins? on: June 14, 2016, 06:04:02 AM
This will not even be a problem for quite sometime since the amount of new coins mined will exceed the amount possibly being lost for quite a while. The first problem may very well be the time when computing becomes so fast, that using a brute force attack, generating private keys to steal coins, actually becomes feasible.
