41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - New NeoScrypt Algorithm on: May 15, 2017, 03:06:36 PM
Great concept to serve a particular need, but seems like it really needed a team rather than just one guy. Internet communities are not teams. The problem as I see it is crypto is news to so many people, and is mystifying or perceived as too unstable. If you could quickly enough convert from USD into GUN and back to USD for the purchase then thatd be ideal, (and given its still on at least one exchange not impossible) but that still doesnt overcome the mystifying nature of it to people. If it can be relaunched with a dedicated team it would be great, but until that day I dont expect the dev to be doing any more heavy lifting after the monumental efforts and subsequent discouragements he endured.

Currently the smaller miners are getting smashed by the big guys. Some of the pools get double the hashrate of the dev pool at times with very few miners, and basically anyone on the dev pool gets no coins during that time. Any way to make it a bit more fair for those of us without super rigs or super hash to throw at KRB? Gravity Well or something like that?

Verge wallet is syncing really slow. Only 2 peers connection.

Can I get some console commands to increase servers/nodes so I don't have to close the client? Thanks if so. I'm not sure what commands to use so please be elaborate thank you.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKR] Sakuracoin ❀ NEW THREAD ❀ Scrypt ❀ From Japan ❀ さくらコイン on: May 14, 2017, 07:05:26 AM
Really marketable name (sakura's are so pretty and iconic). But otherwise there is much to be desired.

- I see nothing to distinguish it from other coins, apart from its great name.
- Credentials/qualifications of the developer (development team?)?
- Website not informative enough and poorly designed (looks nice but layout is difficult to read).
- Is it being marketed differently to Japanese people?
- The developer should have known that if their English was not very good, they needed to do more hard work to gain the confidence of English investors and miners.

I will keep it on my watchlist.

Concerning development there are developers making stuff occasioanally. It's open source project, no one is working on it full time.
Actually I devote a lot of time to it as you can see.

I realise that Cryptonight(Cryptonote?) is open source. But what about developers/people specifically working on Karbowanec? Or is it just intended to be a Monero clone and never distinguish itself?

Has this project secured more developers? Or is it still just the one founder?

Oh and can we get auto-update or update notification for the GUI wallet? UPDATE: After dev response below, I realised I had the latest version so didnt get notification. Whoops!

@Bitcoinsupremo - where'd you see that I'm French?  Haha, you're right in that I don't try and hide my identity or anything like that, but just for the record I'm an American located in the US.

Your domain name host (Gandi) obfuscates with a French address.

On your website you claim to be working with Paypal. How exactly?

Also, the MSB registration #31000058263889 doesn't return any results at fincen.gov/msb-registrant-search
