Bix says something interesting about VERI around 11:50 mark in this video

I find his comment on the off chain trades to be fascinating. Obviously the exchange is taking a fee for all transactions, for these to occur off chain means their overhead is lower. Reading between the lines, it seems there is some incentives ala allocated shares that the exchanges usually operate off of. Either that or they participate in ICOs. Because Veritaseum was practically under the radar it must have caught the big boys off guard. Another reason why fundamentals triumph over flashiness.

I believe bix's estimate of price action is valid. Another reason for the main exchanges to sit it out is there may be some wild price action when its' first listed and they don't want to answer questions about volatility.  I'm actually surprised that Coinbase reverted those ether trades from last week during the flash crash. This is unfortunately a sad precedent for ethereum, including the original DAO. If a blockchain is not immutable, and market trades are not set in stone it removes a lot of trust in a platform.

Price wise we're still near a 10x multiple from the Crowdsale in ether. I believe bringing this to major exchange could bring that to 50x ( 1.5 ). Further price action depends on products and services being rolled out from Veritaseum.

Volatility in Crypto-land. Nothing new for those watching this space. I agree that Etherdelta will be seen as cheap in the future. Somthing else that came to me recently was that the reserve tokens will be offered to high net worth purchasers. The corollary is that for small quantities, it doesn't make sense for Veritaseum to release new tokens; too much work to justify it.

A company or bank that isn't ready to purchase 10,000 - 100,000 tokens will have to buy on the market. A few companies soaking up the existing market offering will quickly swing the price higher. Weak hands will shake out, those convinced to hold will ask a higher premium. Wash and repeat.

The float is our friend.

Veritaseum's (VERI) tokens are virtual gift cards for purchasing services from Veritaseum. These tokens were offered in a crowdsale in May 2017. This was the initial way most people acquired VERI.

There is no mining or PoW to earn tokens.  Tokens will be made available to large institutional investors (High Net worth Individuals). It is estimated that these tokens purchases will not have an appreciable impact on the market price as they will be used for services from Veritaseum. While demand from the market would push price higher; these purchases will most likely be in very large blocks at a time. Approximately 1.9 Million tokens comprise the public tradable float at this time.

Exchanges: if you have an account on an exchange open a token request or support ticket for VERITAS:
1) Kraken. Fill out the request form at

and email them at support@kraken.com

2) Bittrex. Email them at support@bittrex.com

3) Poloniex. Coin Request form at  https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

I am sorry my last post caused a flair up between two guys on here LOL oops!!  Undecided

Anyway, now that peace has resumed... yes I want to see Bittrex be the exchange that lists VERI too. I like that exchange maybe the best.

I don't follow the day to day activity on Poloniex and when they had a trollbox it seemed that there were frequent queries about transactions... (that they closed the trollbox could be a warning sign) Love or hate Etherdelta, at least it's pretty clear that you can take your funds out. Whether thats transferring tokens back to your address, or ether that is held in the contract. The flexibility of ERC20 brings a lot of options for distributed or contract based transfers that were not easy before.

Does anyone else feel like we're sitting on the Launchpad, before lift off to outer space? It's been an exciting ride and this feels so like it's just the very beginning!!!

What I don't understand here is why Masiah decided to hide all the bounty stakes informtion. Please for transparency sake make the bounty sheet public for all to see

I believe that this is not possible. The terms of the bounty program did not state that a public accounting would be made; only that money had been set aside for those that contacted Veritaseum and could prove their participation. It also was my understanding that this was at the full discretion of Veritaseum, not that all participants would be splitting a lump sum. Their are certainly disclosure implications as well as how PII may be shared for releasing such a document. Your dissatisfaction does not allow you to make blanket decisions for the group. Nor can you expose private participants who wish to maintain their privacy.

I'm quite appalled by your attitude and as a holder of VERI I'm sick of you wasting their time. The crowdsale was to raise funds to build the company. They were generous, and if I'm reading this right you did get 7 VERI for a few tweets. If this is the exposure a bounty program brings I think I will be advocating for pure advertising in the future. The bang for the buck cannot be worth this hassle.

Nomura Wants to Charge Clients $134,000 for Premium Research
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-06-22/nomura-quoted-134-000-for-premium-research-as-mifid-ban-looms

As the European ban on bundling research with brokerage services looms, Nomura Holdings Inc. has proposed that clients pay as much as 120,000 euros ($134,000) a year to access their favorite analysts.

That’s what the Japanese bank quoted in April for an all-inclusive "premium offering," according to a pricing document seen by Bloomberg News. While Nomura said pricing is still fluid and it’s being flexible in talks with clients, the guidance may indicate how banks and their clients will settle on how to value something they’ve rarely charged for.

The European Union’s MiFID II regulations, which will be enforced from Jan. 3, aim to tackle conflicts of interest by requiring asset managers to separate the trading commissions they pay from investment-research fees.

Nomura’s premium offering includes all analyst reports on global economics, fixed income, credit and foreign exchange, as well as services such as access to analysts and invitations to events. Different "a la carte" options would let clients purchase research reports only, with extra per-hour fees to talk to analysts of varying seniority at rates still to be determined.

--- Comment ---
This type of unbundled explicit fee structure could be a market for Veritaseum. Note this fee is per client. A large bank would have 10's of thousands of clients.

You guys put too much emphasis on websites...
Personally, no, but many thousands of others do/will.

Here's my opinion, a website can be great and the underlaying technology can be vaporware. I personally was able to use the P2P platform when it was released years ago. It blew my mind and I was psyched to see it advance and get more users. The missing piece was there was no way to monetize the use, it was peer to peer based on bitcoin. I am expecting that the next iteration will revolve around use of the VERI tokens and this will demonstrate value in having tokens.

I am interested in veritaseum based on their history of working technology. Could they have a flashier website? Sure, would it have increased the participation in the crowdsale, yes maybe, and your stake would be lower because of that and a higher float.

Just found this thread but didn´t have time yet to read all...
Coinbase hacked!! Eth DOWN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1977571.0
Edit: Probably just somebody spreading panic again
Indeed. The congestion on the network is a concern. http://ethgasstation.info/calculator.php provides a calculator to estimate gas to time at the current block delays. While keeping large amounts of anything on an exchange is probably a bad idea, Coinbase is probably the last exchange that would be hacked. They maintain a large amount of cold wallets to prevent damage such as stolen funds.

Update: someone sold 100,000 Ether which cleared the entire buy order book.
https://imgur.com/a/qhNeE

Why they would do that is unclear. apparently some trades were for ten cents per ether.

MEW is a victim of its own popularity.

Remember, MyEtherWallet is a client side JavaScript application. https://github.com/kvhnuke/etherwallet you can also use a custom node as well...

I took a look at the https://decentrex.com/ mentioned awhile back, this appears to be a fork of Etherdelta. I have not compared the source of the contracts, nor have I done any vetting. I did see that the fees appear to be identical so since it has almost no orders on it's book, I'm not sure why you would use this right now.

If someone connected with this project wants to chime in, I'd like to see either a faster UI than Etherdelta or lower fees or both...

In addition, it is not the lottery for us. If that was the case, we would have been out already.
How? There is no way to sell any decent quantity of VERI at the prices being mentioned here.

I believe that the current market reflects a large component of holders that are not interested in selling at these prices. Because exposure is thin for etherdelta buy orders are not appreciable to drive prices higher.

Listing on a major exchange would change that. Weak hands will fold out as price rises. volume will be HUGE. The technical details behind VERI will only drive it higher. If you are on the fence, unsure if this is going higher I would recommend that you acquire your position while this is still just on etherdelta. The days of cheap VERI are long gone as the mechanics of the the valuation solidify.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 15, 2017, 02:43:57 PM
Sounds like a legit Air Castle  Grin

Veritas or VERI are the Gift Card to access services of Veritaseum, a company run by Reggie Middleton. Reggie is quite out spoken and has made quite a few amazing and prescient calls. I think that being able to access those services would be valuable. At this point, in my estimate more valuable than the market price of VERI.

Those who misunderstood this value should liquidate or take Reggie up on his offer to refund your original purchase in ether.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 15, 2017, 02:14:19 PM
Outstanding tokens are: 1,953,438.05539709 there are not two hundred million in circulation, nor are there 100 million circulating.
It's still unclear where this number is coming from or where it's being published.

It's recorded on the blockchain:
Veritas Issued: 100,000,000
Reserve in Cold Wallet: 98,046,561.94
Equals the ONLY VERI you can buy from the market: 1,953,438.05539709
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 15, 2017, 01:59:55 PM
2 wallets ( people??) control 99.5% of the TOTAL VERI SUPPLY??? Uhhh..... Am I reading that wrong..... That seems.....  Huh Huh Huh
If this is true how exactly did the outstanding tokens double to 200 mln?

Outstanding tokens are: 1,953,438.05539709 there are not two hundred million in circulation, nor are there 100 million circulating.

The link for ethplorer is not showing this logic correctly. It is a bug.

This address https://etherscan.io/address/0x44cab6f6dc7045fd4acd1d0f3d09fc7a83004bd3 created this contract: https://etherscan.io/address/0x599a4b8188676224d4c9b393b947e332b60b15e3 the crowdsale address.

https://etherscan.io/address/0x44cab6f6dc7045fd4acd1d0f3d09fc7a83004bd3 created the Token contract:
The address of the Veritaseum Token is at: https://etherscan.io/address/0x8f3470a7388c05ee4e7af3d01d8c722b0ff52374 this is what you use to show your VERI in your ERC20 wallet!

The original crowdsale explained here. https://blog.veritaseum.com/buy-veritas-tokens

The https://etherscan.io/address/0x82c48875C17EE5812f909a9d75C0F64f7A8719FE shows the remaining reserve tokens, that are not part of the outstanding float. I would say this is the cold-wallet for VERI and when large funds are sold from it then we can expect institutional investors to be announced. (it is also where you will see UltraCoin to VERI conversion occur)

Here's Bix Weir talking Veritaseum on Hump Day
https://youtu.be/C-XoSWLXaAU?t=1255 Deep link to actual conversation section where he estimates VERI value...
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 14, 2017, 03:40:46 PM
A conservative number of supply is 100 mil simply because that's what's already in place, not pending mining nor issuance.
And looking from a positive perspective, that's $4 billion market cap.
That's not expensive if Bitcoin will go to over $80 bil and Ethereum to over $60 bil.

I can't agree to that estimation. The description in the crowdsale was quite clear; They were described repeatedly as the equivalent of Gift Cards. The tokens are for purchase of services from Veritaseum. The reserve of unsold tokens were stated to be for large institutional buyers. Those purchases of VERI would predominantly be for purchasing Veritaseum's services. So I don't see those making it to market. Ever.

Veritaseum's crowdsale is different enough you must examine the nature of the token carefully to understand the value. Saying there are 100 Million tokens on the market is NOT true. Based on Veritaseum's stated business model, I don't expect we will see these reserve tokens on the market.

I also cannot agree that Veritaseum's market cap represents $4 billion. I think it is conservative to say their valuation is $498,928,142, definitely some room to grow, especially when the additional services come online. This is easily doable for a startup disrupting a traditional industry. Look at Uber, or AirBNB for instance.

Until there is a new statement from Veritaseum on the reserve Tokens I will stand by this analysis. I also believe that VERI is not tied to the price of Ether for it's valuation. So projecting $60 billion for Ether doesn't matter.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 14, 2017, 02:28:48 PM
Thank you. I have used the "Request Form" at the bottom of CoinMarketCap to send through a request.
The in and out numbers for the contract are transfers, the circulating supply is 1,948,938.05539709.

Also my sig will track the median price on etherdelta, with lower and upper hinges. Since etherdelta is an distributed exchange, you can take any offer you want. Someone is putting outrageous high and low orders.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 13, 2017, 09:30:26 PM
I have a feeling Altcity's conclusions are going to proove to be quite accurate!
How many of you have calculated how much of the float you hold? (your stake / float is your share of the liquid component of Veritas!)

Any deals in the future for reserve tokens, will be in a marketplace where the value of VERI is appreciable. If you're making money from something, the price you will part with it will become more dear. We have two psychological pegs right now, the first is that the crowd-sale was for 1/30th of an Ethereum. The markets on Etherdelta showed we can go much higher than that. The second psychological barrier is that a fraction of an ether is used to buy VERI. When that flips, you will realize why we need 18 decimal places!

The value of VERI will keep going higher, as people realize they buy VERI with ethers, and an individual token is worth much more. It is the functional value of VERI that will demand this price. Reggie was right when he said it was like the keys to the Internet!

Hold, stack and let exchanges and wallets know you want VERITAS support; the future is bright!

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 13, 2017, 09:19:31 PM
etherdelta is rubbish
Etherdelta is a Distributed Exchange, with an open source core. It doesn't respond the same way a central exchange does. It also won't mt.gox your funds. Is it the most perfect exchange in the world? no. They are a first mover that has competition coming on-line. ERC20 tokens are very easy to support in a distributed manner. The competition will get hotter, the fees will also go lower.

Use it if you need liquidity. At this point I think all crowd-sale participants can claim a tidy profit. My recommendation is to hold.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 12, 2017, 10:07:16 PM
The latest from Reggie on Twitter ... if you're not excited to own Veritas ...

http://veritas.veritaseum.com/index.php/21-veritas-pancarib-what-would-the-euro-look-like-if-it-actually-worked

 Shocked

Thanks! Such an setup would be perfect for Veritaseum, since it allows zero counter party risk asset transactions. Something of this scope could be done by Nasdaq for instance, but the fees would eat you up. Not to mention the overhead of the infrastructure that would have to be built first for a centrally managed exchange like a Nasdaq.

The risk is the big selling factor, these trade partners don't have to trust each other, they just have to trust the blockchain.

21000 in gas will cost you about 42 cents currently. more complex contracts may double or quadruple that. Even so, we're talking less than the cost of a cup of coffee!

Let us all work together by sending your petition to list VERI token to the following major exchanges[...]

I would include jaxx wallet as well. If shapeshift gets added, being able to see funds in wallet is important. I think general ERC20 support will be added in the future.
http://decentral.ca/contact/

Also leaving a review in the app store would help as well. say somthing like:

I really enjoy how solid the JAXX wallet is, and the ability to work with different tokens is really important to me, the only thing missing is support for Veritaseum's VERI token. I'm sure the developer will add this soon as it is a ERC20 token; as is the already supported GNOSIS token.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kryptokit.jaxx&hl=en
