Did you check if there is any power management setting active?
Please check if the sleep, hibernate is set to never.
Also, set the profile for the highest performance.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good advice or bad advice? on: December 10, 2019, 10:03:17 AM
You made all these calculations based on past history.

It's easy to say that if I would have invested in coin A at this time and exchanged it for another B at another time when you already know whats going to happen.

Anyway, the real challenge is no one actually knows where the market will be heading in the future and holding alts even at a time of downward trend will definitely result in huge losses.

So, it is better to have a personal target and once you hit it, it's wiser to just cash out.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: December 10, 2019, 09:51:48 AM
ATM i'm getting 182 MH/s with 6x RX580 8GB, with wattage of around 900W from the wall, and temperatures under 65c (NO AC)

True!
Linux distros are way more stable and lightweight than Windows.
I personally used Windows 10 LTSC for my mining rigs.

Anyway, I had a rig of 6x Sapphire RX580 8GB Pulse and in Windows, I was able to get 180 MH/s with flat 700W from the wall.
As much as I can remember, each card in Claymore stated to consume around 74-77 Watts per card.
So, I think you can further reduce power consumption for the rig.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider gambling to be a "fun activity"? on: December 10, 2019, 06:59:25 AM
I think the only time I thought gambling as a fun activity was when I was quite intoxicated with my buddies playing poker and I had a winning streak that night.

That's it. Winning in gambling may feel like fun but once that turns into losses, it's not fun anymore.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wallet software on: December 10, 2019, 06:02:35 AM
You do not need to keep the wallet open for the coin you're mining.

Let me elaborate,
Let's say you have a Paypal ID that you use for accepting payments.
You do not need to keep Paypal open all the time to accept payments as any transaction made will be automatically notified to you.
In a similar way, as you have Paypal ID, you have a primary address of the blockchain which you can use to receive the amount in your wallet.
So, as soon as you open the wallet after some time, the blockchain will update and automatically show you the amount received to the address.

I hope this clarifies your query.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero RandomX mining profitabilaty update after hardfork !? on: December 09, 2019, 02:48:13 PM
I have the same Ryzen 1700 that I used to mine XMR in the good old days  Grin
At least I "roied" my entire rig in a good time but have to turn off all the rigs when my electricity rate increase to 0.20 USD

That's pretty sweet. Even I would have break-even my workstation and mining rigs if I had sold the coins at a good price.

Are the Whattomine calculations correct for the RX 470/570 and it gives about 390h/s using only 80 Watts however with 0.08kwh it results in a loss of $0.12. With the same GPU mining ETH it produces a small profit of $0.06. So are the AMD just very bad at RandomX or is it a CPU mostly oriented coin? I've havent actually bothered to benchmark my other GPUs because I know they will all be unprofitable.

So far the profitability for CPUs seems ok, but give it a few more weeks and I am pretty sure the profits will worsen. The issue with XMR is the small miner reward compared to say ETH or BTC.

For mining to be profitable again we need RandomX or ProgPOW on ETH to make home mining come back again.

Yes, RandomX algorithm is designed in such a way that it balances the gap between CPU and GPUs. So, in practice, one can expect identical hash rates with them which makes GPUs obsolete for mining XMR.

True, as more and more idle CPUs gets activated, the hash rate is going to skyrocket making home mining with CPU not at all lucrative.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH mining error (didnt send any share to a pool) on: December 09, 2019, 02:31:18 PM
After the ETH hard fork codenamed "Istanbul".
The ETH pool service providers are facing issues which can result in no share sent to the pool and such.
No matter which miner you want to go with, I'll suggest waiting for a while until everything is fixed from their side and then the problems will resolve on their own.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hide my money from my country on: December 08, 2019, 07:58:11 PM
You will also face issues when you're going to sell your items.
Majority of people usually use online payments with fiat to purchase any products.
As BTC is pretty straight forward for anyone to purchase, you can use that and prepare a bot to convert it periodically to stable coins using any exchange and then transferring it to your personal wallet.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero RandomX mining profitabilaty update after hardfork !? on: December 08, 2019, 07:46:21 PM
I don't think that justifies new investments .. But for those who have a ryzen at home is profitable after the Fork.

Electricity costs 0.10 USD/kWH:

Seriously, only for new generation high-end Ryzen CPUs.
I have one Ryzen 7 1700 rig and other Ryzen 5 2600 but with $0.11 KWH. It's not even worth it to run them for cents.
That was predictable though as there are many more CPUs out there than GPUs.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem with mining etherrum average hashrate is much lower than current hasrate on: December 08, 2019, 09:25:13 AM
OMG did you run 32 computers with gtx 1060? Too much power and you can't make a profit if your Electricity is not free.

And if the average is lower than the current hashrate it means you are not running all 32 computers at the same time as the above said if you use these computers to other task hashrate may drop.

I suggest you collect all 32 GPUs and make a real mining rig not like that you will lose in paying high Electricity bill.

I think the op is using 32 computers for other purpose and as they may be online for the majority of time for performing other tasks. A background mining may utilize the PC completely and help to gain some more income but as stipulated before that the profitability is in negative when taken into account of electricity prices.
The amount of ETH the op will generate will not be able to cover the cost of excessive electricity consumption and will result in no net profit plus increase the wear of the GPUs.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AM4 headless cpu systems on: December 08, 2019, 09:10:30 AM
This thread caught me by surprise. I haven't setup a headless rig yet but I'm
thinking about it.

Is this really a mobo issue? I thought it was a software/driver issue.
These mobos are for AMD CPUs, most mining-suitable AMD CPUs have no IGPU.

With no IGPU in the way what doesn't the mobo have to do with it?

Right now I'm more interested in using both the IGPU and adddon GPUs at the same time
with the monitor connected to the IGPU. I believe that requires BIOS support.

Well, It is actually a compatibility issue.
If the AM4 motherboard doesn't have the updated bios which can boot the system even without any eGPU or iGPU then headless rig can be achieved.

As Ryzen doesn't have iGPU, it is not possible to configure the system without an external GPU but once all the configuration and startup scripts are configured to execute accordingly for the purpose it is built for, then one can easily remove the connected GPU and use it as a headless rig.

Here are some threads where people used Ryzen CPU and the system as a headless rig for their home servers. As one has quoted, any watt saving counts so a headless rig is a way to go for it.

52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Games that everybody likes on: December 07, 2019, 03:32:18 PM
When I was young, I used to go to carnivals and fun-fair quite often and I loved playing various betting games like '7 Up & Down' played with dice, arcade games where you double your money after you reached a certain level.
Now, that interest has shifted mainly to poker with friends, blackjack and rare sports betting.
I never bet big and we all always have an amount cap to bet where we won't feel bad even if we lose and it's all just a great sport.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem with mining etherrum average hashrate is much lower than current hasrate on: December 07, 2019, 03:21:37 PM
I'm sorry.I can ask one more question.Current hashrate, average hashrate and reported all over 600 MH/s but Estimated Earnings only 0.02659 ETH.
While another person one only has ~ 400 MH/s.Estimated their Earnings is 0.02511 ETH.I don't understand.

So, you're saying that your average hashrate is fixed now? Is it displaying correctly?
Can you share the link for the address with the pool so that we can evaluate the problem?

Yes.I using ethermine.org pool asia1.My Estimated Earnings lower everyone.With 650 MH/s.I only 0.02833 ETH daily.

If you check it on whattomine, you should earn around 0.04 ETH per day with that hash rate.
Also, try changing the pool address to another region.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH problem on: December 06, 2019, 02:36:27 PM
Do you have any kind of VPS or Proxy set-up?
The share is rejected because of the ping. It is nearly 12s which is more than enough time to make the share irrelevant.
I'll suggest trying a different server area of the pool you're mining.
Also, check the ping of the connection using a speed test application and see if the ping is in control then.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with 1060 3gb rigs on: December 06, 2019, 02:30:13 PM
Currently i'm mining expanse due to the low DAG size, but in whattomine I see listed many coins that aren't currently available on the 3gb version.

Is there a mining calculator that check the memory size of the choosen cards and is able to only list the available coins?

I don't think so there is any site which will provide you filtered results based on memory size but you can always check the coin algorithm and just google search the requirements of it.

This is a site that I used to check for mining profitability and has an option for 1060 3GB and 6GB but it doesn't seem to work.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.8c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: December 05, 2019, 06:04:28 PM
I stopped mining for almost a months ago, then yesterday, i tried to assemble one of my set of rx 570 cards, and download the latest driver for it, but after i installed the driver, i notice the exclamation point in my device manager, I tried using the latest patch but seems it is not working, do you have a driver recommendation for rx 570? Guys I'm obsolete now, I haven't updated with the latest of driver, By the way thanks for the developer of this minder this is one of the best miner.

If you patched the drivers and you're still seeing the exclamation mark, just check-in device manager as to what error it is.
It could be error 43.
Try using blockchain drivers after DDU in safe mode and check if 4G decoding is on.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Help]My mining rig is now getting 0xc0000098 plz help. on: December 05, 2019, 05:26:56 PM
I tried that all it seems that the BCD path is gone that is why I'm getting this error.

I don't have backup SSD to backup files from my SSD.

It seems that I need to recreate a BCD boot file from UEFI based system all guides from google and youtube are based on mbr/gpt not for UEFI based system.

Oh, I see.
You don't need to back up the whole SSD, just the partition where the Windows is installed so that you can just erase it and reinstall it in the same partition.
Anyway, if there is no other way and you have to reinstall Windows again, I'll suggest going with Windows 10 LTSC variant as it gets security updates only and much better and stable than other variants for mining.
58  Economy / Gambling / Re: look for Dice website that can do bulk bet like 999dice.com on: December 05, 2019, 01:14:30 PM
I tried Stake a while ago. I used it primarily for Blackjack and sports but they do have an option for betting on dice automatically.
im not looking for automatic betting, because most of dice website got that function ! i was looking for website that can do bulk bet like 999dice.com
that what im look for

Oh, Sorry. My bad.
I got confused about the term. Bulk bets like 500 dice bets at once rather than one dice bet one at a time for five hundred rounds.
I'll be on the lookout for such sites and will update this.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMRig with zero dev fee (0 dev fee) (RandomX) on: December 05, 2019, 12:56:33 PM
I will recommend everyone not to download the miner as I downloaded it to cross-check it with virus-total and Windows Defender detected and deteled it automatically.

Always stick to miners with reputable developers even though there is a miner fee because they did their hard work by creating such software and everyone deserves to be benefit by their work.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Help]My mining rig is now getting 0xc0000098 plz help. on: December 05, 2019, 12:38:26 PM
The error code 0xc0000098 means that the boot entry in the Windows bootloader is corrupted or missing which is preventing the startup of Windows OS.

Here are some methods that I gather for you to fix this issue.

1. If you recently installed any new hardware, disconnect it and try booting up again.

2. Boot into the recovery environment which is where you see a list of options available like System restore, cmd, startup setting, etc.

As soon as the windows dots starts spinning, just hold the power button for 5-8 seconds which will result in hard shut down. Do this twice and the third time windows will boot into the recovery environment.

Here you can try three things,

a. Go to Troubleshoot -> Advance option -> Startup Repair and see if the windows can repair the BCD itself.

b. If you have a restore point, you can roll back to a previous restore point.

c. Go to Troubleshoot -> Advanced Option -> Startup Settings and click Restart. This will display a screen with different startup modes to choose from and go with safe mode and see if it boots.

3. If none of the above works, use a different PC or laptop and download media creation tool from Windows, create a bootable USB drive using the software and try all these methods provided in this link.

https://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-boot-error-0xc0000098-on-windows-10/

4. If none of the above works and you want to back up your files before reinstalling Windows, I'll suggest downloading latest Ubuntu ISO, making a bootable drive for it, boot it and backup all of your files to another storage media.
