41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it true that mining in a pool gains averagly the same as mining solely? on: April 20, 2013, 05:07:45 AM
My (perhaps limited) knowledge is that mining in a pool will give you more consistent payouts, as you've got the power of the pool behind you.  With solo mining, it's a crap shoot.  You could get a block on your own in minutes (so very unlikely) or months, if ever.  I decided to join a pool to build up a coin-base.  If I ever had super high gh/s, perhaps solo, but I just don't think it's worth it to me.

You got it.  Mine in the pool and you're guaranteed a payout.

It's extremely difficult to find a block all by yourself unless you have insane hashing power under your belt.  Imagine mining for months and not hitting the jackpot.  People use pools because they earn little by little all the time; instead of hoping they eventually hit a block, they'll know they'll hit one as a group and will take a portion of the reward based on how much hashing power they're putting into the pool.

You can attempt to mine solo to claim the reward all on your own.  Just don't get discouraged if you don't find one for a while.
not only a while. A year for most of us, except if you have 7500GH/s

Shocked  Didn't know that!  Now solo mining really is out of the question Grin

lol not really that high speed, but slow speed really doesn't yield anything.
42  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Patch of mosaic on screen when mining with XFX HD7950? on: April 20, 2013, 05:02:35 AM
I got a XFX R7950 Black Edition Double D with two DVI ports from 50btc.com. Only recently I have started mining with that card and even with the stock clock of 900 MHz I get patches of colour not blended with the screen appeares. If I overclock it slightly(to 950 MHz) the driver will crash. Also the hashrate is only 436 MH/s on average. And the temperature always get over 70 degC. I have a 760 W seasonic power supply.
Is the patch of colour because of overheat or what?
 Huh
bump up

Let us know how it works out.  It could be a pyramid scheme.

How many Mhps do you think he is getting?

I guess that x5 at the bottom indicates he has 10x 7970s and 10x 7950s.

...why the hell would you put a 1TB SSD into a mining rig O.o
and barracuda is not SSD. It's HDD.

Just want to be out of here. Have more than 5 posts but less than 4 hours. The restriction should be based on how frequent the login is i think.

Surely graphic card mining right now is all but pointless. Is anybody still making coins today (at a sensible rate) with GPUs?

Go buy four of the butterfly labs 1500 GH/s rig and overthrow all the pools.  Grin

well are you referring to my grammar? I don't really care about that when chatting

No Dennis, it was a joke.   Wink
HAHA, SO FUNNY.
but actually the 1500GH/s miner is out of stock. That thing is worthy of some investments. According to the 50btc.com rate your are getting a month's pay of few thousand dollars in a day. But since your speed is so fast you probably will mine solo. And get serious profit.

If it is business related you can ask to be white listed. There is a topic somewhere in the Newbie section.
Urm i saw the whitelist section is said to be "old"(in the pinned posts)? that means it is not used anymore?
and my total time logged in is freezed at 1hr9min.

He invested $4000 into btc since last year and is still holding. I don't see how has he lost $50k? Looks like an attention grabbing headline to sell his data recovery service.
Agree. If you dont sell at all you wont lose anything.

57  Other / Beginners & Help / Isn't this newbie restriction promoting spams? on: April 19, 2013, 09:19:12 AM
Like why must we have at least 5 posts and 4 hours on this forum... This is extremely stupid. I just want to see if there is already anyone translating that to CHinese, but this stupid newbie restriction make me can't reply to any posts. Most forums only implies a restriction of time intercept between new threads, and the number of posts you can make each day. Why does this forum have this stupid restriction???  Undecided
