41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: June 28, 2013, 06:04:51 PM
There are people who are still waiting after weeks for they're $/BTCs.  Anyone who uses BI right now takes the chance they will be waiting weeks also.

I have had over 6 successful transactions since 6/12/13. There are problems with the system of course because it's in BETA. Anyone who can read BETA on the site should realize that the interface or system could have some bugs. If you choose not to use BitInstant based on single experiences, then that is your choice. But it works MOST of the time and if there is an issue it is usually handled pretty quickly. Waiting on a Coinapult email for the deposit I made this morning still, but sometimes Coinapult is slow.

Yea I have used BI since they came out.  Had many successful trans but this is bs.   They are obviously getting the people who cause a huge mess out of the way quickly and leaving the others to wait weeks.

Where are all the posters who were posting on any BI site they could find.  Where's the dude that said he would go by they're offices if he diddnt get his money.  Where is the dude who was gonna file a BBB complaint.

They were obviously takin care of quick.  Your tellin me they make a post ranting and raving threatening this and that then they just decide to wait nicely?

I still have nothing. I am a shy hair over 14 days.

Got an email claiming that I made an error with the amount of coins I sent... 10 days after I gave them the coins. Now I'm back at homebase with my coins, still feeling lucky though that I did get any type of reimbursement. I guess I annoyed them enough on all the different social media fronts, lol. Who knows.. Thanks I guess? Huh Now to find an exchange that is competent enough to cash my coins  Grin

It does seem they are picking and choosing who to work on first.  People come on here ranting and raving and then you never hear from them again.  People who are polite are still here.

Case #: 15936

Bit coin to PayPal cash out, coins sent 6/17 to wallet address requested. Blockchain verifies that coins have been received in the correct amount and time frame.

Was estimated at about ONE hour...

On 6/23, nothing yet - I had gotten one single response from "Alyssa" stating: "It seems that your order had a technical issue.

Our development team has identified the cause and is hard at work to correct this matter and get you your funds."

I then asked for an estimation of when my funds would be available and still today (6/26) have gotten no response back, or payment...

Still totally in the dark, I'd really appreciate an estimation on when my funds will be available or my actual funds to my PayPal account. The customer service I have received thus far has been absolutely the worst and unhelpful I have ever experienced.

I would greatly appreciate for this transaction to be complete and to receive the funds that I have been waiting patiently for all this time.

Thank you very much.

At least you got a response.   I put two orders just like yours (except ach instead or PayPal) through over a week ago.  My trans still show pending eveni though the BTCs can be verified in the blockchain.   Filed a support ticket over a week ago and not one response yet.

I have been trying to get a response from BI for over a week now.  I made two trans to sell BTCs for USD via ACH and the orders still show pending.  You can verify the BTCs were succesfully sent in the blockchain.

I made a support ticket (Case # 17364) almost a week ago.  I havent heard anything back.

I did this type of trans before and it always shows executed as soon as I send the BTCs.  But mine still show pending.

Can you please help me with this.  I would appreciate it so much.

If you need any more info please contact me on here.  I check my messages very often.

Thank you

It looks like we had already solved one of your issues and then you logged a new issue.  Please be patient as the cs team works to get to your new issue in the customer queue.  Thanks.

Thank you for responding.

The first issue was two weeks ago.  This issue was one week ago.  The first issue was dealt with very quickly.   I filed a support ticket a week ago for this current issues.   No response in a week.

And none of this was my fault.  The trans are in the blockchain.  My banking info is the same as it was on previous trans.

You have to use the keyboard and when you turn the rig on keep pushing up then down then up then down .....

Keep pressing it until the fire screen shows up.  Then select failsafe.
48  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BAMT not working on: June 06, 2013, 07:12:13 PM
Try booting into safe mode.  On BAMT it's called failsafe.
49  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Lower voltage of Sapphire 7950 to reduce power (linux-usb)[firmware mod] on: June 05, 2013, 11:32:16 PM
Pretty sure I have the same cards as you.  I have these ones.

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DisplayPort PCI-Express Graphics Card with Boost 21196-00-20G

I have tried a ton of 7950 BIOSs.  In my opinion the ones Phillips has are the best.

What are you mining?  BTC or LTC?

If you are mining LTC you need the 1.09 V BIOS that has the regular memclock.  Phillips will know which one I am talking about.

If you are mining BTC then you need the 1.09 V 300 memclock BIOS.  You could use the 150 memclock one but I think the 300 is better.

The 1.09 V one runs just as stable as the stock 1.25 V BIOS.   And I run them at 1115/1500 mining LTC.

The difference in power savings going from 1.25 V to 1.09 V is a lot.  On my 5 card BAMT rig it was like 350-400 W.  and they run 10 degrees or so cooler too.

And instead of using Trixx or Afterburner or whatever just use cgminer.  Either make a config file or just use the arguments when you start cgminer.

Like ./cgminer --scrypt --auto-fan --temp-target 70 --temp-overheat 80 --gpu-engine 1115 --gpu-memclock 1500.

The only reason I have found to have to use Trixx or whatever is if you are using Windows you can use one of them to either lower the V or lower the memclock.
50  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer / linux - changing 7950 voltage below 1.125V on: June 01, 2013, 06:28:22 AM
Only flash in DOS using a bootable DOS USB stick.  Do not flash in Windows.

Do not flash your number two BIOS.  Only use your number two BIOS if you mess up the first one.  Make sure you make a backup of your original BIOS using GPUz.
51  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer / linux - changing 7950 voltage below 1.125V on: May 31, 2013, 03:36:29 AM
You need to flash to a lower V BIOS.  You cannot change the V in Linux.

Look at the link in the post I linked below.  You down load it from the link and then flash it using ATIFlash.  I advise to flash it with the bootable DOS USB method.  You can do it with ATIWINFlash but the DOS way is a lot safer.

And unless you flashed it to something different both of your BIOSs should be the same stock BIOS.  The second BIOS is there in case you mess up the first one you can switch to the second one to recover the first.

The BIOS below lowers the V from the stock 1.25V to 1.09V.  I have my BAMT rigs running this BIOS and they run 1100/1500 at 1.09V.  Very stable.

52  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dummy plug / multi GPU guide on: May 30, 2013, 02:27:13 AM
All of my GPUs run fine in both Windows 7 and 8 with no dummy plugs.  No crossfire either.

And I have two different rigs on two different mobos.  One is a five 7950 rig and one is a three 7950 rig.

I have two five 7950 rigs running BAMT that also do not need dummy plugs.

So it must be certain mobos require it.
53  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which GPU (7970) really does 720+ out of the box? on: May 29, 2013, 06:05:15 PM
Oh yea. On Windows you can set the V to whatever you like. But on BAMT or Linux you have to flash a BIOS to the cards to get them to run at 1.09 V.

But the W difference between 1.09V and the stock 1.25V is a lot.
54  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which GPU (7970) really does 720+ out of the box? on: May 29, 2013, 06:03:41 PM
I have 3 rigs all with Sapphire 7950's.  Specifically the 20G model.

I get 640-650 KH/s mining LTCs.

I use these settings.

Core 1100
Mem 1500
V 1.09
Powertune 20
Intensity 20
TC 19000
Threads 1

If you do the math the 7950's are a lot better.
55  Bitcoin / Mining / WU vs KH/s ? on: May 27, 2013, 09:54:33 PM

I have read that a good WU to hash rate (KH/s or MH/s) is WU being 92% or better of the hash rate.
Is this correct?

On my two BAMT rigs my ratio is about 88%.  After 4 days of non stop running my avg hash rate for four 7950's is 2549 KH/s and my WU is 2249.

On my Windows 8 rig with three 7950's my avg hash rate is 1828 KH/s and my WU is 1662.  Which is about 93%

Does this sound right?  Whats would be the best thing(s) to tweak to get the WU up more?
56  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: multiple rigs - how do you manage your operation? on: May 27, 2013, 09:13:06 PM
I use BAMT on two of my rigs so I just SSH into them wherever I am.

I also have one Windows 8 rig and for that I just use LogMeIn Ignition.  The app is usually $99 and you dont have to pay the recurring fee or whatever it is if you were to just buy a regular subscription.  I dont pay much for iPhone/iPad apps so its best for me and it works perfect.
57  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is my Kill a Watt wrong? says pulling almost 1300W from 1200 W PSU? on: May 26, 2013, 09:35:54 PM
Besides the power savings, the cards I run with the 1.09V BIOS are about 10 degrees C cooler vs the 1.25V BIOS.
58  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone know if I can switch my rigs PSUs over to 220V? on: May 26, 2013, 04:31:51 PM
Yea I didnt feel like arguing with everybody here.  The guy is almost 60 years old (guessing but prob close) and has been a cert electrician for Tropicana for nearly 30 something years.  And he is the most senior electrician there.  Im sure if the Trop trusts him with millions and millions in equipment he can run a breaker.  Even though he knows more about computers than most people I know his age he still is almost 60 something years old so I dont think hes up on anything that has happened in the last 10 years computer wise.

But yea the only reason I did this was because I have 2 five card BAMT rigs.  I want to put them all in the same room because of the heat.  If I do this they keep tripping my breakers because all of my rooms except for the bathrooms/kitchen have 15 amp breakers.  I was gonna run two 110V 20A breakers but I decided it would be better to run two 20 A 220V breakers.

My PSUs say 110-240V @ 12-6 A respectivly.  I have 2 PSU per rig.  So on 110 its 24A and on 220 its 12A.  Per rig.

So Now I have two 220V 20A outlets to plug my rigs into.  I dont really care about code or anything like that.   Ill just remove it if I move.

59  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is my Kill a Watt wrong? says pulling almost 1300W from 1200 W PSU? on: May 26, 2013, 04:29:06 AM
I am just flashing them on my Windows rig to out them in the BAMT rigs.

I was testing them mining before I shut the BAMT rigs down and change the cards.
60  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is my Kill a Watt wrong? says pulling almost 1300W from 1200 W PSU? on: May 26, 2013, 02:49:18 AM
Which one card are you talking about? The one that is on the PSU with the 3 with the new BIOS?

I tried to figure it out if the problematic cards (those that refuse to work at 1.09) are a different brand.
Cant say why they are refusing to work at 1.09. All my cards they work the same no matter the type of slot I put them in.
(Those in X1 slots they do hash a bit slower though...aprox 40Mh/s lower.)

At the time I had 4 cards running at stock voltage the consumption was around 1170W. By lowering the voltage to 1.09 it went down to 788W.

I havent tried mining BTCs yet except for a min so I cant say about that but mining LTCs I get the same hash rate on the x1 slots as I do on the x16 slots.

This is wierd though.

On my Windows 7 rig I have 3 cards.  All the same Sapphire 7950's 20G model.

The cards show up as 0, 1, and 2.  Card 0 is the card my monitor is plugged into.

Card 0 already has the BIOS you linked me to.  Cards 1, and 2 have the stock BIOS.  All three cards run 625 KH/s like this.

I flash the BIOS you linked me to to card 1.  (I use a DOS bootable USB with ATIFlash to flash.)

So at this point cards 0 and 1 have your BIOS, and card 2 has the stock BIOS.

I boot info Windows and run cgminer.  Same settings and everything that I used to run 625 KH/s before.
Cards 0 and 1 mine fine, 625 KH/s but card 2 mines at 450 KH/s.  I never did anything to card 2.  All I did was flash card 1 over to your BIOS from stock.

So I figure maybe because its the only one on a different BIOS.  I dunno I know prob not but whatever.

So I flash card 2 with your BIOS.

Boot into Windows and run cgminer.   Now cards 0 and 2 run fine, 625 KH/s but card 1 now runs 425 KH/s.

I tried deleting any .bin files and it never helps.  I dont understand how this could be.

And I tested with 2 other BIOSs on the BAMT rigs and they will not no matter what boot with cards in the x1 slots unless they have the stock BIOS.  I tried both regular booting and safe mode and it will get to the part where X is supposed to start and then the screen will flash a couple times and then it just goes blank.  The monitor is still on but there is no display on it.
