41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Rig Frame Built under $25 and 20 min. on: December 12, 2017, 05:16:54 AM
poorly thought out design, no place to mount mobo or anything else. that's not a rig frame. at the very least its only a gpu holder at best. good fire starter though since you used wood

What's funny is people do this type of rig before you yet you pick on him.  So what makes difference with him and the others?

Motherboard can sit on the cardboard.  I done it.   I push the room temperature 110F and nothing burned.   8 months in a row.   No issues with metal racks.   I don't waste money on those highend rigs eventually I would throw it away if I'm done mining.  At least with that rack I could reuse.

Wood or not wouldn't make difference preventing fires because outlet and home wiring and the carpet is like 90% and wood is just small part of the problem.   People done rigs on wooden frame.

How long until Volta comes out?  Seems questionable whether it is worth dropping 750$ on a 1080ti right now.  Isn't it getting "old" at this point?

Hard to say which coins the Volta architecture will be good for. If it uses HBM2 then all the ETH and similar memory bandwidth heavy coins will benefit.

That didn't work out well with Vega tho.  I was very hyped on HBM.  ETH relies heavily on memory latency over bandwidth.  HBM doesn't offer that much.  If the TDP is low maybe it's good.  But Vega does best on Cryptonight algo.  It took advantage of the bandwidth.

Bitcoin cash was the coin that got me aware but I manage to profit off them.   Pattern is obvious.  P&D group is very aggressive on this one.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 05, 2017, 12:36:37 AM
Thanks.

How do you gentlemen verify stability when testing changes in afterburner?  Invalid shares?  Lock ups or crashes of the miner/system?

For me I just push it till it stop crashing.   But if you game with the overclock settings for mining.  You get the worse stability.  Sometimes I forget to change back.  lol

You should start with lower TDP like 70% and compare for best hashrate per watt.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: December 04, 2017, 11:51:26 AM
Many coins can be profitable.  Don't try to go for daily profits.   Try to find the whales or Pump and dump groups.    There is one advantage mining has.  You can mine without triggering the pump and dump groups and climb with them with a stop loss limit.  lol  Something I learn from trading.

List of predictions

I mined and hold Zen until it increase by 50%
DGB (November) from 110 to 130 it's quite profitable
DGB (December) spike to 150 today is very profitable.
I hold over 1100 Monacoins and 250 Vertcoins from summer mining.

I mined Feathercoin few weeks before it from 700 to 2100+.

SIGT was crazy profit on it's early start.

Hush has a nice pattern of low difficulty and 25% increase pump.   If you get in certain time that can be very profitable.

Lots of risk taking and some research behind it helps.   I mined Vertcoin for a while recently.  Now it climb and it almost hit 80k satoshis.

Im looking at Hush again if difficulty remains very low.  It might hit at least 25k from 14k.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: November 20, 2017, 01:44:04 PM
If you use Wellsfargo or Chase.   Leave and use something else.   Bitcoin is risky but be smart with it.  Price that really matter is when you bought or sell it.

Since you don't use the money you can just kept it in Bitcoin.   People who said don't do that are people who buy and sell daily.   I don't get how you guys lose money.   I had Bitcoin in the $2800 and saw that drop to $1800 and now it's $8100.   I didn't spend a single Bitcoin.  lol
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to start investing with 1$? on: November 19, 2017, 11:15:06 AM
If you get lucky to find these pump and dump groups and maintain an average of 10.25% gain (.25% to the fees if it works that way)  for each trade.

It will take 120 trades to get to $1.47 million or more gain per trade from $1.  It could be less if you hit those trades that gain 25% or that rare 400%.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: November 17, 2017, 02:44:18 AM
I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?

You notice mostly millennials are being aware because TV is dying slowly.   I have only internet and HD antenna for local channels but I hardly use it.  Only thing tv brings is the people older than 50.

Anyway Bitcoin has social media and youtube.

You have to thank cable companies for killing tv.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing faith in BTC... on: November 16, 2017, 04:06:32 AM
It seems that its price is stuck at 6500 range for days now  Undecided
Stuck? You are not being realistic, after all shits which happened to bitcoin lately 6500 is great price.
And look just 12 hours after your post price jumped to 7200 - bitcoin is back, bigger and stronger.
Don't panic, everything will be just fine  Wink

It sounds like people bought it higher than 6000.  lol  Good price for you but not for them.  People need to read the charts back in 2013 - 2014.   Be prepare for this.  It can happen but at a unpredictable rate.  Like everyone said don't invest more than you can afford.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is BTC really anonymous? on: November 05, 2017, 02:09:04 AM
Once you buy bitcoin the coins is linked to address under your account of the exchange.

And if you did send large amount to certain account.   You better have a good reason why you did it.   Money is still trace by the very first address.  No way to hide the money from that point.

If you mined the coins yourself.  It's possible to be anonymous.   As long you never link your IP address or your name to that specific mining address.  Have the client hide behind the VPN and tor.

If you buy the BTC in person with cash.   Both sides must not give out the real name during the transaction.   Huge disadvantage is you might give the cash to the wrong person even with username unless you find a way to secure the message without being intercepted.
51  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges High Withdraw Fees on: November 03, 2017, 10:52:50 PM
I just withdrew some Bitcoin from Bittrex and noticed they still have the same withdraw fee they had like months ago. Shouldn't they adjust their fee to the BTC price?
I mean paying more than 7$ for withdrawing your Bitcoin ist just ridiculous or am I the only one who thinks this is robbery.

I have to work almost a hour for 7$ not imagining people from india working 2 days for that amount. Maybe it's true bitcoin is only for the rich.

Well it is decentralize currency you have freedom to go out and find other ways.

Few ways to trade without the greedy exchanges.
-Start a chat group
-Trade BTC in this forums
-Go in person to trade

It doesn't always revolve around the exchanges.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC near 7000$ on: November 03, 2017, 10:31:04 PM

It's good feeling for Bitcoin holder.

I am very confused please suggest me.
Now what can i do?

If you sell in the US.  Good luck because those taxes hurt.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: November 03, 2017, 08:06:34 AM
People should just boost the support of the coins instead of selling miners.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many new ICO, how to check if it's scam? on: November 03, 2017, 03:34:59 AM
So many new ICO, and they all have new idea and tech listed on their webpages,

and even the websites use the same template...

but so many new ICO, how to check if it's scam, or worth to invest...

To be honest if you like gambling then you like ICOs.   I would put them on same league as sports gambling because simply you can do research to minimize the risk.  You have to keep in mind that anyone can make a white paper, website and a team.  That's why I could compare it to sports gambling.  You don't know if the team can kept going or not but research can clear of some stuff about them.

Guys,i'am planing to buy a cat and call it Mona if this coin hit the 10 bucks mark.

I'am dead serious!  Wink

It's going to take months or maybe a year.   From the time it hit 34k on on 01.07.2017 it slowly decline.   It even drop below 8.5k at one point.  This is another decline I'm not sure how long it will last.  I could say around 2-3 months or even worse case scenario 8-11 months from the time it hit 100k the first time on 14.10.2017
56  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BITCOINSTACK is SCAM..! on: November 01, 2017, 08:45:39 PM
It's pretty funny how it works.   I tested it out by putting 0.006 and he deleted my post.   I'm very real and alive to let you guys know.  lol

0.006 went to another person who put 0.06
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: October 31, 2017, 06:33:07 AM
Thx for reply
Can an 1200W psu keep an rig with 4x 1080ti ?

I run 4 * 1080ti and a 1070 off a single 1000W PSU.
it`s nice. what pl do u use? i can`t afford more then 3 1080ti on 1000W PSU. even platinum from good manufacturer.

It's doable since most miners run the GPUs under than 70% TDP.  Most high end PSU has 12v rated at 999w that leaves 99w free for the rest of pc components.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: losing 50 bitcoins gambling on: October 31, 2017, 06:02:28 AM
If I was a mega high roller with millions in the bank, then I probably wouldn't care.

Whether you're a millionaire or not still 50 BTC is a lot for everyone when they lose it unless you become a millionaire without much hard work means by luck like winning money from gambling. If not. when people lose around 300K money they will surely worry it.

Yes 50 btc is a lot and huge money for everyone although he/she is a millionaire. My be i cant sleep every night if thats me, and regret forever in my life why i should spend it just for gambling.
Same will happen with me if I ever lose such massive amount in gambling. I don’t understand why this person made such a big bet when everyone knows that gambling is very tragic game and unpredictable as well. You never know what is waiting for you in the very next movement.

If this person is still alive and making a post here about his loss, it means he has enough money still with me and not much worried about his loss.

Reality you don't really know his life or what he does.   Also that time it was priced at $23k.   It's like me as a kid I would see someone putting $20 a game.  I say "I wouldn't put that much money".   Now I see people putting $25-$500 on game and the rich would be putting $5k-$25k or higher a game.

If you go by unit system and have self control.   You may put $500 a game if your very successful or $50 a game if your doing bad but in the end you would lose money you started with or not lose it all.

It's rare for successful sports gamblers to post.   Odds makers would change there lines more aggressively if a group starts winning too much.   Those guys would lose their jobs if they do poorly.  lol

obviously 50btc is super huge

Not really that time.  23k worth isn't much compare to ones I saw on other forums.   One guy puts $5k-$25k per game in NBA.   He had over $80k worth of profit at end.   There are times he was $20k below his start.

I been on this coin.  I see the bad and the good.  lol  Those investor wannabe can come and go.   I'm pretty mad earlier how these guys ask for white paper this or that or whats the future road map.   They don't realize scammers would do same with white paper.  I haven't been on the forums this long.  I can easily memorize same pattern users ask for white paper, goals and future road map while zcash and eth miners keep asking questions on main bitcoin mining category.
