41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: July 04, 2017, 05:31:21 PM
I do not understand what this coin is for. Web site looks like a blog with ugly template. Is this coin fundamentally strong and provide some useful service, why it grows so much? Or is it a speculative growth and it will drop to hell one day?

He he he he. Sorry couldn't help it. Lets disseminate this:

 1. Web site looks like a blog with ugly template

Some of us have sent this sentiment to Reggie directly. Although I couldn't care how the website looks like I agree with the sentiment that first impression counts. There was even one offer at Veri Slack from one user to do their web page for free. And Reggie asked back if he can code in Joomla as well. Do not know what happened though.

2. why it grows so much?

Unlike many other assets/coins VERI growth is mostly organic. This does not mean that there are not some speculations though. The latest growth was due to announcement from the 30th (https://twitter.com/ReggieMiddleton/status/880804430655782912) about using VERI at Jamaican Stock Exchange (JSE). Read more here http://www.cryptocoinupdates.com/update-from-reggie-middleton-veritaseum-is-taking-jamaica-to-the-next-level/
To summarise: Any digital assets on JSE will be traded using VERI as the underlining engine

3. Is this coin fundamentally strong and provide some useful service,

Veri is not a currency or classical token. What it gives you is a "gas" to use software services which Veritaseum is building and will be building in the future. Reggie (CEO of Veritaseum) is known as the man of integrity. He mentioned JSE trip sometime at the beginning of June. His result was published on his twitter and elsewhere in the form of signed contract with JSE. Couple of days ago he also mentioned, that he is making a deal with another top 10 stock exchange. Knowing his previous work it is almost guaranteed that he will strike another deal. Veri has some unique and novel features like renting their token to others to use Veri services (decentralised exchange, peer2peer exchanges, investing in other assets/digital currencies using advanced analytical analyses are just some examples that will be build or are already in alpha/beta stage). On the top of that they also have at least one (that I am aware of) patent which provide them some edge against the other tokens/digital currencies. One of the patents is listed here: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2015171580A1/en?assignee=Veritaseum.

You have many more examples and explanations about what VERI exactly is here on this discussion thread (I know that it has almost 70 pages but it is worth reading), at Veritaseum "ugly" website, their white paper and many good youtube videos created by Reggie and others. This token is one of rare gems out there. Most of the tokens will be dead in couple of months or withing two years. What you need to realise is that Tokens = startup company. And how many of them succeed and survive? Good code means nothing if there is not good leadership knowing about internals of finances and being at home in financial world. Reggie's has good financial background and good character. On the top of that: He is the man of word. If he says something then he means it.

If anyone wants to add something please do so. Only educated holders are good for the community, VERI and Veritaseum.

it is a bit of both...and no one should stress out over it...

this gives buyers a chance too...markets need buyers and sellers, you can not have one without the other

You are correct. Buyers should get a chance.

Pathetic. 1000 VERI wall and everything crumbles ... People probably do not know that they can submit partial orders ... There are 258 holders with 1000 or more VERI. So at least 258 could create wall anytime. On centalised exchange that kind of things wouldn't last so long ... This wall is a good example why it would be good idea to have VERI on centralised exchange. Until it hits JSE ...
Why does it have to be 1 big sell order? Why can't it be a natural pullback after more than doubling in 2-3 days?

This would be the case on centralised exchange because "natural partial orders2 + high demand would eat up the wall. Yes. Correction was/is expected and it is natural that it occurs. But this particular case is/was not correction ... yet. But it might be the cause to trigger correction. We will see.

Some whale is pumping the hell outta this scammy shitcoin today. Damn.

It is the opposite.

1) furthest thing from a shitcoin
2) 1000 VERI buy wall keeping the price from rising.

Hope that will bite him/her. People can still use partial fill-up order if they really want to drain this wall.

That would be useful info on how to do that if anyone has a link .. Ive used etherdelta once so I know it's a bit complex.   I think I always just clicked the amounts in the order book. If someone starts eating that wall I bet it gets pulled.

As far as I know and remember it should be as easy as simply clicking on red order. Here is one catch though. You need to have at least 2 ETH for the transfer fee. Am not sure if it actually takes 2 ETH even if you partially fill up for lets say 10 ETH or it takes appropriate for your amount (much less). If anyone knows feel free to correct this.

Bitter because you are late in this game. Feel sorry for you. And now am pressing Ignore button. Good luck in your bitterness.

And suddenly appeared 20 and 50's under this ratio too.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: July 04, 2017, 06:02:23 AM
what was the price during the crowdsale?

It depends. If you have entered at the beginning of ICO (25th of April) was approx. ETH = $50 and ratio was 1 : 30 (30 VERI for 1 ETH). Later on (at the end of ICO) was approx. $200 and the same ratio as before. There was also extra bonus 20% for 1st day of ICO, 10% for second day and then 1% less for each consecutive day (so day 13 had 0 discount). So you could get as cheap as 1.33 USD and the most expensive about 7.2 USD

Watch 31:48-34:06 of this video to understand where VERI is heading: https://youtu.be/xtkRDshL2zY

Have no doubts about that. So renting VERI will be reality sometime next year. Sweet.

I don't understand why other exchanges are taking so much time to list veri.... Is a great token with huge potential.

You do realize that these exchanges have to have quite a number in reserve to function, right?  Once again, scarcity.

With 18 decimals deep they have no excuse. If they list it, sellers will bring VERI to market just like they brought VERI to market at EtherDelta. In addition, the exchanges do not need x amount in stock prior in order to function, especially considering the high number of other crypto tokens that are already listed and traded across the board. The volume will be there at the right price. The problem is that the exchanges want more than their fair share. If they keep it up, they will be replaced by user friendly, decentralized exchanges in the not so distant future.

Good, let them ignore it, we will bypass them and they will come crawling back.

Exactly. We are not going to bribe or lick anyone's balls. VERI will make it to the top with or without them. That being said, as previously mentioned, my gut feeling tells me that Bittrex is going to be the first major crypto exchange to list it. My gut feeling also tells me that VERI will be at a $1000 before or by the end of the year.

I do believe that your gut feeling is too conservative. 1000 USD by the end of the year. As soon as it hits major exchange will surpass this silly number. At least for short time.

is there a slack channel?

Yep. Just drop an email to masiah at veritaseum.com and he will include you.

Well, I did it. Even though I got VERI during the ICO I decided I should load up on more. Watching Etherdelta yesterday the price has been on a steady incline. Not huge, but from about .28Eth to .30-.31 today, or almost 10%, probably on the Jamaica "news."

I did the same thing. I paid like 20 times more than I paid in the ICO to load up on more Veri. The more I learn about Veritaseum, the more I believe I hit the jackpot.
me too:)

I applaud all the buyers cos it is a high time to buy some cheap VERI. I would do the same if I could. It seems that some of the top 50 holders were selling cos' I am now in the club Top 50. Yeah! And am not selling not even one unless we hit at least ratio 3 ETH : 1 VERI (even if this never happens which I seriously doubt though). I am happy for each and everyone of you guys. But still wonder who in his right mind is selling VERI
right now at ratio 1 : 3.X?? However is selling is a bloody idiot. Just my 2 cents ...

Masiah was with me in Jamaica working on increasign the value and reach of Veritaseum and attempting to solve the exchange ilsting problem. I believe we have solved the problem.

I wonder how it is possible that everyone was missing this info out. Jamaica first and now this? That is WOW. Reggie you made me rich. Thank you. So it seems my dear fellows that centralised exchange is coming.

More like avoiding like a plague. As to answer your question. Some of them are not listed but vast majority is listed within a month or so. Some are listed even before the ICO (e.g. GNOSIS) or during the ICO (like SNT). There were already discussions why it wasn't listed so far. From disruptive business model for exchanges to major exchanges not participating in the ICO. So they don't have any tokens and can't turn huge sums of money. Another which I suspect might be the case is that you need to "bribe" major exchanges to be listed there. At least first one or two. The rest are following soon. Take your pick why is not listed yet.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 29, 2017, 03:23:43 PM
You can't ban a decentralized exchange from listing a decentralized asset.
As I wouldn't know this ...

Etherdelta is a useful platform
It is not useful unless you want to buy some cheap VERI. It is actually harmful.

I predict when we reach 1/1 parity with ether that will be when exchanges become interested in VERI.

Perhaps. But I doubt. We will see.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 29, 2017, 03:10:58 PM
Perhaps would be the best to simply ask coinmarket and other sites where VERI is listed to remove token from their lists until it hits any major exchange.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 29, 2017, 02:51:41 PM
EtherDelta is DECENTRALISED!! Hence whatever people want to do with orders or whatever mistakes they make, sticks.

Funny how people want to ban exchanges like EtherDelta in the world of crypto which was originally all about the decentralisation of things... LOL.

How about we just let EtherDelta be the marketplace it is that people can freely use and if they want to make silly orders then fine, let them make silly orders.

If you cannot figure EtherDelta out, how the heck can you figure out a whitepaper or what a potential ICO is all about?Huh?? It's not rocket science.

Tell this to poor Mehmet Ozturk@mto_46_twitter that he is f***** dumb. It seems that you have misread what was posted. So please do go back and read it again. You know how price is displayed on coinmarket cap and similar sites. I know as well. But many poor sods just see the price listed on coin market cap and see 300% rise in price. So once again. Delta is actually harmful to our token because the prices that are displayed on coinmarket cap and similar sites are very misleading. It would be much better if delta would be banned from selling VERI. It is just damaging us holders and potential buyers.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 29, 2017, 02:45:25 PM

I post the median price in my sig every day. Unless you know what you're doing you shouldn't be buying or selling outside of this band. (today 0.2916 <sellers> 0.3077 <buyers> 0.3333) Since Etherdelta is a distributed exchange, and takers can take any order, it is going to have these regressions.

VERI is a complicated piece of software. It is not an investment. Those who wish to accumulate can still use Etherdelta; the reward down the road will be apparent when the services are rolled out from Veritaseum. Speculators or people looking for a get rich token should steer clear. VERI is software to buy services. This is how they are accounted for.

As I stated before. I have no intent to sell VERI until hits at least 1000 USD. And for sure not major part of my tokens. This does not mean that I do not wish that real market would dictate normal price without non stop price flipflopping. Nor that I don't want to earn some profit to invest in other ICOs. But listing VERI on fake exchange will not allow me/us to do anything with VERI. Call me speculator if you want but what I want is to earn some money and invest it in other projects. So I am asking once again anyone here: How much do we need to pay any major exchange to actually list VERI? Because numerous emails, tweets, videos, blogs and reaching out to at least 6 exchanges hasn't changed a thing.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 29, 2017, 12:50:16 PM
Banning EtherDelta for VERI is an overreaction.  Educating yourself on the proper operation of EtherDelta is the proper reaction.  Use it wisely to accumulate cheap shares now.

Perhaps but price flip-flopping like a yoyo is ridiculous and harmful to us holders (and buyers as well). As our emails/tweets ... were ignored I have a simple question: How much do we need to pay to be included on real exchange?
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: June 29, 2017, 12:28:28 PM
Etherdelta is a joke. Just look at the order book right now. There are orders for 0.00500 VERI/ETH! And looking at expiry date gives you 1e+29 blocks. Yes that is 100000000000000000000000000000 blocks or approx 100 billion x 4756468797.56 years. What a joke. I believe that trading on delta is harmful to the whole VERI ecosystem. And then someone intentionally (or accidentally) clicks on orders like 0.00511 ratio and the price of VERI just plunges. The same applies for the other extreme when someone is buying 10 : 1 ratio (10 ETH to 1 VERI). Coinmarket cap periodically checks for the price and because shitty etherdelta does not provide normalised VERI price returns such as outrageous flip flops. This reflects bad on VERI itself. Can we block/prohibit trading on Etherdelta somehow? It is a joke and harmful to us and potential buyers which produces such episodes as this one:

Mehmet Ozturk@mto_46_twitter 11:37
Veritaseum was yesterday at 528 dollar. Two days ago I gave a order at 1.0 VER/ETH. But its not sell ?, Can anyone help me.
Alexandre Takacs @alexandretakacs_twitter 11:56
@mto_46_twitter how did you comme up with that valuation ?
Mehmet Ozturk @mto_46_twitter 11:57
@alexandretakacs_twitter https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/veritaseum/
Alexandre Takacs @alexandretakacs_twitter 11:57
at the moment VER/ETH is about 0.3 (ie you buy 1 VERI for about 0.3 ETH)
well your link gives me $91.84 at the moment (which is about what I mentioned)
Mehmet Ozturk @mto_46_twitter 11:58
I mean yesterday it was 528 dollar 22:14

So this poor sod was ripped off because of this fake exchange. And I am pretty sure that is not by far the only one
