41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How often do you check CoinMarketCap website? on: September 25, 2018, 02:52:17 PM
I don't check coinmarketcap that often now, last year when I was still active in crypto I always open it several times a day but right now maybe only once or twice a week. I use delta to notify me of my coin's price change so it's not needed to check coinmarketcap so often. Also since the crash the price is down almost everyday so it's just depressing to see it everyday.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you prefer, bank or crypto? on: September 25, 2018, 01:36:13 PM
If you are to choose, which one would you prefer to store your money, banking which is susceptible to fraud like identity theft, lost and stolen cards, ATM withdrawal scams etc., or cryptocurrency wallet which is susceptible to cyberspace scams? Why?
Never have problem so far with bank and I like it better to store money rather than crypto because the value won't change that much so anytime you need the money you can withdraw it immediately to use, in crypto the value constantly move so it's better as an investment, you can withdraw your money anytime you want but you also have to consider the value at that time.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Think ICO investors are Decreasing? on: September 24, 2018, 04:10:16 PM
The golden ico days is over where you can basically join any ico and still make a quick profit once the coin get listed on some exchange. Right now it is very hard to find a coin that can maintain it's ico price post ico, most of them will lose their value quickly as people aren't patient enough to hold, it's getting harder and harder to get profit from an ico to the point that most people stop putting their money on ico.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why does coins change price constantly? on: September 24, 2018, 04:05:03 PM
because the price is affected by supply and demand so that's why you see the price constantly moving, if the supply is higher then the price will go down and if the demand is higher then the price will increase. If you want something stable then it has to be something that can be controlled so if the supply is low they can release more coins to keep the price stable.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency? on: September 24, 2018, 02:00:18 PM
Of course it is regulations regarding cryptocurrency, people don't want to get into trouble with law by buying something that is prohibited by the government. If the government give green light to crypto then I am sure a lot of people will put their money into crypto. I don't think the price volatily will scare people because that's one of the charm of crypto as a high risk high reward investment.
46  Economy / Economics / Re: Why most bitcoin users from good economies countries? on: September 23, 2018, 02:38:30 PM
Because their standard of living is better than the one in developing countries and they are more educated about investment and finance so that's why there's more crypto users there because they care about their money's value. People in developing countries have other priorities and usually most of them only invest in gold or property, there's only a little awareness for crypto.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do older people like investing in Gold/Silver? on: September 23, 2018, 02:10:56 PM
Gold and silver has been a store of value for a long time and they are a good storage of value to have survived the test of time. Older people like them because they have physical form and they are quite conservative with their risk management. Younger people like us like higher risk investment because we can get higher return aswell and we want to have comfortable life later.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after several years? on: September 23, 2018, 02:00:52 PM
I agree that with more time we will see more adoption of crypto in a lot of countries. Right now crypto adoption is still in the early phase and a lot of people don't know how to use crypto but if crypto become more popular later then we will see platforms that will make crypto adoption a lot easier and normal people can use crypto without the need to understand how blockchain works.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leave Crypto? on: September 22, 2018, 02:55:36 PM
Welp in the first place most people come here because they want to get rich quick when they saw the December pump, I know a few people who keep mocking me when I first started crypto last year and they also invest quite a huge sum in January only to get burned. I know about that because they complained that they've lost a lot march, and I believe there's a lot of people that are like that. Now is a good situation because organic growth is better for the long term.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs gonna end someday ? on: September 21, 2018, 04:40:30 PM
It's not gonna end as there will be new icos even in the future but the amount will be far less than right now and they will be regulated means only good ico that already pass the requirement can hold an ico. It's quite good because right now there's too much icos and most of them are scams, it's also not rare for a project to get delayed a lot or the team stop giving news regarding the development, with regulation they can't do that anymore and have to be responsible for the investor's money.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency so difficult to understand on: September 21, 2018, 03:33:32 PM
It is indeed quite difficult to understand and if you are not into tech then it will be harder. I struggled quite a bit at the start to understand the concept of blockchain and how things work, and even right now I only know the common thing but people doesn't need to know about that, as long as someone make a platform to use crypto easily people will use them.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you reccomend family and friends to join the market when it's crashing? on: September 20, 2018, 04:13:51 PM
Nope, you shouldn't ask anyone to invest in something that they don't understand because there's money involved and people become sensitive around money. They can  get a lot of money from your recommendation, become greedy and lose a lot instead and you'll be the one that get blamed from that. I never ask anyone around me to invest in something, but if they ask something about it then I will answer it for sure.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin in Southeast Asia be legal? on: September 20, 2018, 02:40:55 PM
It will be legal later, the thing is it's easier to accept new innovation like this in developed country rather than developing countries. Most of the country in Southeast asia are developing country so they will be extra careful to legalize something that can disrupt financial instrument. They will most likely wait for another country to legalize crypto first and wait for the result before going to do that themselves.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: September 20, 2018, 02:25:31 PM
Beside crypto I also invest in stocks and gold, I have a house but that's not for investment purpose. I feel like people should diversify their investment in different field, not just in crypto to reduce the risk. Like when the crash happened earlier this year I am not affected that much as crypto is only about 20% of my portofolio at that time and I actually get out quite early.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You should never doubt on bitcoin investment! on: September 16, 2018, 12:37:11 PM
You should never doubt your investment in the first place, why put some money on something if you don't believe in it? I always do research whenever I want to invest into something and crypto is no difference, I learn what blockchain is and how it works, how it is going to disrupt financial world and after I am sure i put my money on it, right now i am still believe in it so the price in the short term won't affect me.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High risk results to high rewards on: September 16, 2018, 12:21:50 PM
To normal people the price movement in crypto is indeed quite abnormal as there's no way you'll see the movement like last year bull run. Also crypto is quite different than traditional investment as if you invest in stocks then you put your money in real companies that really exist but in crypto everything is digital so people may not trust it if they don't understand about blockchain.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never invest no product ICOs on: September 15, 2018, 02:41:53 PM
Well most people invest in the project potential and in crypto more than 95% of the ico only has whitepaper. I agree with you that people shouldn't invest into project with no demo because most of the project in ico can't deliver their promise even after a year. I saw a lot of people keep delaying the release of their platform and most of the project are the one that collect a lot of money last year.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to invest long term aside from Bitcoin? on: September 15, 2018, 02:21:29 PM
There's a lot of choice of investment besides bitcoin, if your risk tolerance is low then you should invest in stocks, gold or property, but if you can take more risk then there's a lot of altcoin to choose from, there's project about financial platform, digital currency, logistic etc that may interest you, you have to choose the coin yourself so you know what you buy and you can put your faith on it.
59  Economy / Economics / Re: People are not motivated by money. on: September 15, 2018, 01:23:51 PM
I agree with what you've said, in my opinion there's two kind of person, one will work hard for money and the other want don't care about money but he want to change something. A lot of people fell in the first category, money motivates them to work hard because they need it to survive, to buy daily neccesities etc, maybe later when they have enough money and life become boring then they will change to the second type.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hold Bitcoin for long time. on: September 14, 2018, 03:28:38 PM
Well for now the price is important so it's definitely matter, if you can increase your bitcoin then it's even better as you'll get more if you exchange it to fiat but you shouldn't force it if you can't trade. I agree that you shouldn't hold it for too long because you may miss the selling opportunity like the one happen at December. You can hold, sell it when there's opportunity and buyback later.
