41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question: Generating address in bitcoin core using my xpub on: November 03, 2018, 11:26:53 AM
Hi there, from my understanding, generating an address will also generating private key assosiated to that address simultaniously
in a way you are correct but it is not a correct statement.
what happens is that when you request a new address your wallet generates a new private key first and then uses that key to derive your public key and then converts that public key to a desired address format that you want.

Quote
but, If I generate address using master public key in my server (xpub), where is the private key stored?
things work a little differently in BIP32. what we have here is two things:
- a master private key
- a master public key
the design here is unique and is in a way that you can use your master public key to derive the future public keys without needing the master private key. but this master public key is derived from that master private key so in a way it is still the same as above.
meaning you first created a private key then used that to get the public keys.
so your private key(s) is that master key (xprv)

Quote
so now I have electrum wallet, I use my wallet's xpub to generate address in my website.
but how can I sign transaction? using my master private key? (xprv)
you have to have another wallet that contains the master private key so that it can generate the private key corresponding to that address you are spending from so that you can sign a transaction.

OHHHH!!! I GET IT.

so one master key can be use to sign hundreds of transaction for my public keys created by the "Master public key"

and master private key can be use to restore our wallet with other wallet provider.

so now the only thing that I have to put attention to is Master Private Key (xprv)

43  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Why am I receiving a negative? - electrum on: November 01, 2018, 08:57:33 PM
It means you made a transaction yourself, sending funds to someone else.

Collecting dust amounts of Bitcoin is quite useless, I recommend you read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2848987.0.

what? you mean if I sent 0.00001 100 times to my friend, it will be useless?

To start with, BTCPayServer is written using C# but I don't think it would be a problem because you don't necessarily need programming knowledge to use it.

As for the costs, I couldn't tell you for sure but If you want to run a full node and connect it with your BTCPayServer, then you should see how much a full node would consume (blockchain size, bandwidth etc.) and buy hosting based on that. Or, you could simply deploy it to Azure using the button in the GitHub repository, Azure will give you 30 days trial with free credit, and monitor how much you're consuming and see.

Alternatively, you could use third-party hosting services but clearly, being your own payment processor and running everything yourself is much better, how profitable is it will depend on the amounts you're expecting to receive.

omg, thank you for your suggestion.

I have a success in setting up basic function like generating address.

Gona hack around to create instant forwarding address.

Need to create hot wallet and cold wallet instant separation by percentage.

I feel that I can squeeze the world in my hand right now  Grin Grin Grin

Thank you so much. Grin

Oh wow, BTCPay Server is compatible with BitPay API https://bitpay.com/api
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best Rest api bitcoin merchant with low fees? on: October 16, 2018, 11:41:39 PM
Bitcoin and altcoin fees are mostly network fees, no carrier fees! You may want to refer to it, but it is advisable to use services that are supported by miners

Wow, seriously?

I think you dont understand the question. Or maybe

I think you dont know what you talking about.

If you want to promote your ico by making shitty post, please do somewhere else.

yup, spend whole night studying it and now its up and syncing.

need 2 days to sync.

Im using digitalocean server. It says the blockchain storage of 250gb can be reduce after syncing.

From what I read, it cost about $40 monthly.

if there is 1000 transaction per month,  $0.04 charged per transaction should be able to cover all cost.

provided that there are not other maintenance cost.

pooya87 is correct. If you're serious about your project and you are going to receive a considerable amount of payments so downtimes are not an option, maybe going with a payment processor is a much better option. I believe you have decent knowledge when it comes to coding, so maybe running BTCPayServer is also something you might want to look at: https://github.com/btcpayserver/btcpayserver

well, im good with python. but still grasping the architecture of bitcoin.

I was reading about fullnode as suggested by pooya87.

the link you gave, will we be able to be a bitcoin merchant with it?

what is the cost running such? I seen a lot of bitcoin merchant charging more than 0.5% or 0.0002 btc per transaction.

That is quite high fees, maybe the cost of running own bitcoin server are high, no?

Quote
BTCPay allows merchants to run their node (or connect to someone else's node by using the hosts) and receive payments directly, P2P, with no fees, no intermediary, no censorship while providing better privacy over their customers financial and private data

no fees. If its true, then I might be able to create a bitcoin merchant with the smallest fees, but whats the catch?
50  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockexplorer.com have error on: October 15, 2018, 08:20:13 AM
Hello guys, I try to use blockexplorer.com to verify transaction in my app.

you didn't say what your "app" is but let me just give you a warning that if it is some serious project accepting payments, or things like that then you are making a mistake by relying on a block explorer, specially if you do it with an unreliable one such as blockchain.info (as it is the one you switched to). depending on your project you may want to look into running your own node.

But most of the merchant use bitpay, coinpayments.net and other services. wont it be a problem for them too?

i honestly thought we can use any blockexplorer for payment verification.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What are the best Rest api bitcoin merchant with low fees? on: October 13, 2018, 07:26:40 PM
Hello there,

as per topic here, can you guys make suggestion?

I have found one, but their fees is high for smaller transaction, because they charge fix fees per transaction.
52  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockexplorer.com have error on: October 13, 2018, 10:23:07 AM
You should carefully check out the API call! The possibility of error function is likely to occur not much! Carefully check in detail, Wish you success!

can you elaborate on this?
53  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockexplorer.com have error on: October 13, 2018, 09:06:30 AM
You're simply loading the page and reading data from it? because If you're using their API, I suggest Blocktrail's one over any other service.

Im using api.

and also, if I check for a txhash manually in blockexplorer.com, its also not appear.

is blocktrail more faster? what about blockchain.info is it practical?
54  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockexplorer.com have error - Testing BTC Pay server Now. on: October 13, 2018, 08:07:36 AM
Hello guys, I try to use blockexplorer.com to verify transaction in my app.

I was using testnet for the whole time. (since 2 months ago, for testing)

But suddenly my app cant verify transaction even if the btc was sent.

So I thought there is some problem with testnet. and then decided to change to main net.

but after the change, the same problem appear.

And today I learned that the problem was with blockexplorer.com

I change the verification handler for my app to blockchain.info, and it worked fine now.

Hello guys, I want to share my trading journal.

This is pure technical. Using rsi, Fibonacci and ma.

The idea: set a fibo to see how far it can go after touching 30 level of RSI. Fibo level as entry point.

Buy NANO 2533

Update: Loss. closed at 2507 (1%)

===========================================
19 Aug 2018:

NANO/BTC - Loss 1%
ONT/BTC - Profit 5.7%
ADA/BTC - Profit 0.97%
ONT/BTC - Order not trigger

20 Aug 2018:

EOS/BTC - Order not trigger
I think you should not trade or trade at the binance exchange, as far as I know, recently the bitcoin prices have been constantly bouncing and the floor is going on a lot of bugs, but long time no account They are automatically sold out of coin or automatically traded to fail to burn the account. The gays have no report on mail or code.

oh really? what exchange would you recommend?
59  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading journal [Binance] on: August 19, 2018, 11:02:29 PM

Ticker: EOS/BTC
Position: buy limit
Price: 7960
Risk : 7887
Target: 8222
Reason: 1.618 fibo level is the lowest stretch. main target is to make smallest loss as possible.

It didnt hit my buy limit 7960. but touch 8222 anyway.

sad.
