Suppose i had 50 btc in my electrum wallet during the fork. I want to claim my bch (bitcoin cash) so i save my seed and private keys from my electrum wallet and then move all my funds to block.io wallet. Then i delete electrum from my pc and install electrun cash. Then i claim my bch from electrun cash wallet using the private keys of the empty electrum wallet. Is there still a risk that i can lose my btc or bch?

I would not recomnend that. Had a bad experience on exchanging doge to bitcoin. Maybe a bug, but if not, then exchange fees are very high or exchange rates are unplenty. But to answer your question: Yes, it is possible to exchange BCH to BTC on coinomi.
Ok, so what is your advice? To wait more until a much better solution will be issued?

So, now that ShapeShift supports Bitcoin Cash (BCH) too, is it possible to exchange BCH to BTC using Coinomi in-app exchange?

Hello. I have a lot of BTC in my Electrum wallet and want to claim my BCC.
If I transfer all my funds from my Electrum wallet to Block.io wallet, wait for confirmations and then delete Electrum and install Electrun Cash on the same PC and use the seed of my (now empty) Electrum wallet, is there still a risk that I can lose my BTC or BCC ?
Please advise.

Which "well known reputable wallet"? Are you also sitting on the fence until a 100% safe solution will be published?

yes 1. I moved my BTC to a new wallet/addresses 2. I installed the Electron Cash wallet and confirmed the hashes (SHA1). 3. I inserted my old private key, and send the available BCC immediately to a new BCC address. 4 now waiting for exchange lol
It's totally not safe what you did. In only one machine? Or two?

Don't be a rush to try to sell your BCH because of value:
1) This value is not real, nobody can't send their BCH in exchange yet
2) Transaction will take a huge amount of time (maybe 2-3 days) because block are still mined slowly, so very long confirmation time
3) If you rush it, you risk to loose your BTC so be carefull.
First of all must wait patiently until there will be a 100% safe way to claim my BCH from Electrum wallet. Only then, after I have the BCH, can start thinking of selling it.

i'm a user of coinomi(android),but i can find where to input priv key,can you show me the way please?
Be careful man, there is no 100% safe method as of this moment. Better to wait.

Hmm...it seems that the best thing to do is to simply wait patiently few days / weeks, until there will be a clear solution for claiming BCC from Electrum wallet without any risk.
I can't take any kind of risk because I have a lot of BTC in my Electrum wallet and of course can't afford to lose anything.

You could use your cell-phone ?
How and in what way? Do you have an USB stick? Electrum has a portable version too...
No I don't have.

You are going to end up loosing all your bitcoins. I dont understand why people are in such a rush. I dont even see your Electron Cash wallet on the list of BCH supporting wallets. Are you sure this wallet supports BCH? Which Electrum are you using because I looked on https://electrum.org and theres nothing about Electron Cash Yes, I am sure. I am using the normal electrum wallet from electrum.org and I know that my funds are safe there, so I can't take any risk. Please check this about Electron Cash: https://electrum.org/bcc2.txtMaybe I should just wait until there will be another solution and it won't be obligatory to use more than one machine...

I hope that someone can help me and provide me with a solution. It's pretty urgent, because I expect BCC price to drop down a lot soon as too many people will sell their BCCs, and I don't want to miss this opportunity... ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

Hello friends! I need your help.
I have a lot of BTC in my Electrum wallet, and I want to get my BCC, but the problem is that I only have one machine.
Therefore, I am very afraid to take any risk because I read these instructions in the Electrum site:
1. Install Electron Cash on a machine that does not have your Electrum wallets.
2. Wait until the BCC hard fork has taken place, and a few BCC blocks have been mined.
3. Move all your Electrum funds to a new Electrum wallet. This will move only your BTC, and not your BCC, because the BCC blockchain has replay protection. Wait until the transaction is confirmed.
4. Enter the seed of your (now empty) old wallet or private keys in Electron Cash. Since the BTC have been moved to a new wallet, entering your old seed in Electron Cash will not put your BTC funds at risk.
I wanted to ask, if I install VMware Workstation in my PC and create a virtual machine and use it for Electron Cash, is there still a risk?
