41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin Blake-256 for GPU/FPGA With Merged Mined Pools Stable Net on: January 13, 2018, 09:03:25 AM
As eloipool returned as a dead pool, i tried to run blakecoind in solo config first - just to test if it works alone.
After a few struggles with connecting my miners to the blakecoind on my virtual ubuntu machine, i got it to work and it even found a block this night (wanted to test the whole functionality). The block is still immature, but i think this will work too.

I now have the following problem:
i start blakecoind by
Code:
./blakecoind -datadir=/home/osboxes/Desktop/Blake/BlakeData -daemon
and it says "Blakecoin server starting"

Now i have a problem to stop that server.
What i did:
Code:
./blakecoind -datadir=/home/osboxes/Desktop/Blake/BlakeData -rpcusername=myusername -rpcpassword=mypassword stop
and it says "Blakecoin server stopping"

So far so good. But if i want to restart the server i get "Error: Cannot obtain a lock on data directory /home/osboxes/Desktop/Blake/BlakeData. Blakecoin is probably already running."

If first have to kill the process by
Code:
sudo pkill -9 -f blakecoind
to be able to restart the server.

So now, the question is: Whats wrong. Did i miss something?

I just want to clear things for myself before trying further with eloipool and maybe merged mine. But if i fail to use the simple solo version, how should i succeed in the more complicated.
42  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: was sind sidechains? on: January 11, 2018, 12:04:08 PM

Hi people is there any news? What about new exchanges? Or this coin dead?

Yup, its dead. Move on. Here is nothing to see - just a crime scene.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin Blake-256 for GPU/FPGA With Merged Mined Pools Stable Net on: January 10, 2018, 02:18:00 PM
Thank you Bluedragon.
It seemed i did it the wrong way (sorry, i have no experience with building, or its to long ago).

Now i tried it the way described in src/build-unix.md - so did
Code:
make -f makefile.unix

out of the src folder and it ran through (besides a ton of warnings) - it even seems blakecoind is syncronizing (folder is growing).

The issues mentioned with boost... i made the change that was described there before running make.

But at all... be aware of more questions and despair to come Wink
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin Blake-256 for GPU/FPGA With Merged Mined Pools Stable Net on: January 10, 2018, 08:42:23 AM
So now the beginning of a long long torturous way Wink

Trying to compile blakecoind on Ubuntu 17.04 32 Bit i get the following error:

Code:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lboost_system-mgw49-mt-s-1_55
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lboost_filesystem-mgw49-mt-s-1_55
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lboost_program_options-mgw49-mt-s-1_55
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lboost_thread-mgw49-mt-s-1_55
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:315: recipe for target 'blakecoin-qt' failed
make: *** [blakecoin-qt] Error 1

a few packages that were mentioned as dependancies could not be installed in the original way as mentioned on github. I installed them as followed:

Quote
sudo apt-get install git-core build-essential libssl-dev libboost-all-dev libdb5.3-dev libdb5.3++-dev libgtk2.0-dev libminiupnpc-dev qt4-qmake mingw-w64 synaptic qt-sdk qt4-dev-tools libqt4-dev libqtcore4 libqtgui4 libdb++-dev

The bold marked packages are the ones i had to change, to get them installed. Maybe these needed changes are the problem?
Any other hints on the fail while doing make?

exchange drama just does not change much always some issue just keep calm on a long term view things will get sorted out if the demand is there, just people cant mine+dump and people cant trade short  Undecided

for anyone mining make hay while the sun shines just look at the lower diff vs a few days ago so every cloud has a silver lining  Tongue

a mix of central and decentralized exchanges is the future as I already said

been 2-3 exchanges close that Photon has been on since release, issues with exchanges are not a new thing or just a Photon issue its the whole industry Embarrassed

exchange business models you will find listing fee/delisting/min vol/locking markets/wallet maintenance super common  Shocked

even though cryptopia have issues atm its still a good exchange for fairness its a shame they are having issues dealing with volume of new users/trades and need to close markets *they got all sorts of people making demands and ltc/doge is not most profitable for them if people were not so toxic they would have just left them suspended imho

my advice is also if asking for PHO/BTC be nice when dealing with cryptopia and not demand and shout say bad things to them because you feel have rights its their exchange not yours be Nice Treat them with Respect and if we are lucky will listen and open PHO/BTC *they are super busy atm and not getting a lot of love maybe show them some  Wink

This was exactly what i was thinking when Cryptopia closed the LTC market and zpools estimates and hashrate dropped. Wink

Have couple of FGPA Ztex 1.15y quad boards.
Any idea what to mine?

If you use Windows as mining platform the cgminer Bluedragon mentioned should be fine. I used the same for testing until i changed onto a Raspberry as mining controller.

This was my Mine.Bat content:

Code:
cgminer --disable-gpu --url stratum+tcp://eu1.blakecoin.com:3334 --userpass youraccount.yourworker:yourpassword

If you like to use a Raspberry Pi too, i can share a SD-Card image if you like to (just need to write a little text for it, so you wouldnt mine on my account)

Guys!

Photon has way passed 1 satoshi past weeks and landed on 6 sat before det pair closed for now by cryptopia. So now, due to the fact that 1 pho is valued at 6 sat, we should request a pho/btc pair on cryptopia!!

Yeah, it is nice to see the value growing, but... what do you think was this rise? A healthy and forseen growth or just a pump (or two or...) to raise the value for a big dump? Then the value would be under 1 sat in no time and all efforts to establish a tradepair with BTC would be useless. When Blakezone and maybe other applications using Photon are in a condition that provide real usecases, then i think the effort you mentioned would make sense. But maybe the Management Team Photon can work miracles and... lets see Smiley

Heya "Management Team Photon" - you should update your pre-website as Photon is not tradeable on Cryptopia at the moment (and maybe this moment will last really long, as they stopped the whole LTC-based market). Maybe you should start a conversation with the guy from https://c-patex.com/ to see which future plans they have.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon blake256- MERGE MINE 6 COINS- NO PREMINE - POW ONLY 3+YRS on: January 08, 2018, 07:44:30 AM
does anyone know when/where Photon will be trading again? I have a bag I would like to see start moving again.

I unfortunately was not able to read through the whole thread.

Look here https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/News into the tweets on the right side. The ones regarding the LTC/DOGE market problems. At the moment it doesnt seem to be solved in a fast way.

In theory you can try https://c-patex.com/ This is a new exchange and i think they will build up, but only future will show, if it is an honest meant exchange or just another try to scam ppl. For now i just can say, they try to do honest work, try to enhance their service and until now they answered any ticket i opened in a relative fast way. But just keep in mind - it could be a scam too...

What kind of bullshit is this now?
You call the developer selfish and egoist? lol - Bluedragon was helping anyone who asked, when there were technical problems like how to set up miners for Blake, giving hints and even explaining how crypto works.

Photon exists for close up to four years now and until two weeks ago anyone thought its dead, noone was interested in it (besides the ones, that were in touch with the Blake-coins and knew there is development behind the scenes). Now, like the mushrooms in autumn season, some of you guys pop out of the floor and start crying thinks like "you have sooo many coins, you are so rich, you should have rented domains and blahblah" crap.
Bluedragon never asked anyone to "work on his project" - this is real bs. I think he didnt want anyone to come here and say "Hey, we are here now, we want to build something big, but please pay us the listings on various exchanges, please be the person giving his full ID data to exchanges, please let us scam you."
All the ppl that contributed (no matter if with hashpower, building sites, being part of this little community) to "his" coins made this by their own will. Ppl themselfes want to work on it by their own choice. And then you come, say "we want to help" and if it doesnt work the way you thought it could, you denounce the dev because he doesnt want to change a system that worked until now without bigger/any problems.
If you guys want the coin on any other exchange, move your ass and do it - pay what it needs and see your payment going down the flush. If you want a great community, build it without demand. If you want other features on the blockchain - build them and fork (like Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond, Bitcoin Shitpile and so on...). So whats the problem?
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin Blake-256 for GPU/FPGA With Merged Mined Pools Stable Net on: January 04, 2018, 11:19:16 PM
you missed the real lows of 80-120gh/s many of us enjoyed for many months when things were quiet and btc was 10x less Cheesy

but like I said many people look very short term for "profit" and by time anything shows its often very highly competitive it was no different for bitcoin in early days, not saying blc is btc as they are different reward models just saying if I myself had more long term approach to my early btc mining it would have been better than trying to compete so hard and only looking at price on day/week/month basis  Shocked

I never stopped mining Blakecoin(and merged) since it was released! one day that really will be my "most profitable" move I have made with mining and I am sure some are already enjoying some good returns for sticking about especially for Photon as it was dumped very hard yet has potential due to sheer numbers of coins  Cheesy

also the waiting for normalizing does not always pay off sometimes it does other times like with me on btc never going to get as much per day even using latest asics than I did with gpu/fpga, really latest bump with btc has made an impact loads of new miners entering space it may take awhile to calm down or may never go back down to such lows, if my own game projects ripen in mean time you might as well forget such lows and just say "I was there man before it was something"   Grin

Still time will tell everything else is speculation on an unknown future

I know i missed these times. I looked into the historical diff data and saw that, when i returned to set my boards up. I fear i had to quit short before these mentioned quiet times began and returned after they ended. But real life can be an asshole, but most important (for me) is - i am back, even with all my coins i mined in earlier times Wink

The short term profit ppl are the ones, that now make the diff spike. Moving on the blockchain, when the calculator says it is more profitable than xyz but 20 or 40 blocks later they leave again because of the spike they were responsible for. I left my boards running (as long as the circumstances allowed it) even if the calc said i am only getting +-0 or even negative profit. Here in Germany its hard to be competitive (if you compare it to other countries), just because of energy costs. But i just knew (okay, a part of hope was with it) that the coins i mine now will be profitable in the future.

I know what you want to say with the gpu/fpga times. I had such moments too - like mining a nearly dead coin just for fun (there were times it looked like only 5 ppl were mining it) and then it returned to an exchange - with the known initial spike in price. This was just like christmas and birthday on the same day Wink Even if i got into the crypto thing at the end of 2012 and even if i never got the most powerful hardware at the right time i can say too "I was there before it was something and i watched the whole crypto system growing, learning and succeeding" - even if i missed the very beginning. Even if this may sound a little stupid - i am proud of that - in real life i often heared something like "ahh go away with this stupid thing" when i tried to talk about Bitcoin and crypto and the technical things behind it to the ppl i know in real life. Today... you may know how this would end - sth like same ppl say "i wish i had listened to you" and so on.

At all - i wish i would be a better programmer - sometimes i have (i think) good and useful ideas (nothing like stupid dice games) on what to do but am unable to think through it in the whole dimension and so to realize a useful solution.

And at the end - thank you for all the efforts you made to realize Blakecoin and the ecosystem around it - it is the niche coin (maybe not niche for all times) that made me happy... from setting up solo mining to getting my boards running (okay, there were times i was close to drown in despair) to the feeling to be a part of it.

Happy new year to all of you Smiley
Atm the spikes are really heavy. I think it is because of the raised price of Photon which led to a switch to the Blakecoin-Algo on Zpool.

So they want to build Asics for the BLC Algo? Sad

Yeah seen a lot of activity and I think they have already built asic they at least in theory can mine Blakecoin still waiting on a reply from the manufacture about support

cant rule out "Testing" of asics before release as well as large gpu farms profit switching but whatever the case network is still minting new blocks just average times can be off until things stabilize

best time to mine has been the years before all this action Cheesy

the "most profitable" on a day basis maybe just is not best way to make larger gains on time/effort due to the sheer competition time will tell I guess  Tongue

I dont think this is a kind of testing of Blake-Asics.
The spikes in difficulty began, when Photon's price raised on Dec 25th. Then, maybe an hour later, the net hashrate jumped from something like 300-400GHs to like 4THs in seconds. I looked on zpool and saw they were responsible for like 3THs at this time - for sure only for a short timeframe until difficulty rocketed. I think when the Alt-Coin season is over and the prices will fall back to before the pushes, the diff will "normalize" again.

I just thought BLC would be like ASIC-safe because of the low market cap - i just forgot there are other Blake-Algo coins too. I even was looking for some more FPGA boards to enlarge my little farm (with no success yet) - but if there are rumors in this direction, i think i will leave it running as it is until the time has come...

Hi,

Hey Fabrizio,

can you give the text you sent to Bitpay (maybe as PN if it is more comfortable to you)? I dont know how to formulate a useful inquire about this. The problem is, if i click on my Bitpay invoice on All4BTC.com i only get "this invoice is archived. please contact your trader to get further details" mhahaha nice joke Wink

EDIT: Ok i found my email, where Bitpay sent the invoice to me. So this wouldnt be a big problem.
59  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: All4BTC - keine Reaktionen - Bestellungen hängen fest on: December 11, 2017, 09:18:28 AM
Nach mehr als einem Monat ist die zweite Bestellung noch immer nicht bearbeitet. Das scheint wohl nichts mehr zu werden.

Irgend welche Ratschläge, was man sonst noch tun könnte?

60  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: all4btc.com - buy all amazon products with bitcoins on: November 21, 2017, 02:02:03 PM
It is not a scam, but at the moment the service at all is bad as hell.
The support is not available at all - the support-mail address doesnt exist. Dylan does not answer any emails any more (the reason may be the one mentioned by morozec80). No one is answering phone calls - no matter which time you try to call them. I even tried to get another contact to any All4BTC related person and contacted Bitwala. They sent me another mail-address, but even this one is not answered.

On 6.11. i created two separate orders on their site (one order on Amazon, one on Ebay). Then, after paying, nothing happened for 11 days - in the meantime i tried several ways to contact them, without success.
On 17.11 - so 11 days after ordering - the order on Amazon was completed. First i thought it may be a system failure but the next day i got this delivery. The second order (the one on Ebay) was not touched.
At this moment, 15 days later, this second order is still not fulfilled.

So now i wonder: Why does this need them sooooo long to do anything at all? Why is one of my orders complete while the other is still untouched? Why isnt there anyone doing support?
In this state it is absolutely not possible to recommend this service. At the moment i dont know what to do to get any contact to them.
