44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: October 04, 2017, 08:47:28 AM

That's because a lot of people are concerned with ICOs, theses times Wink
I'm pretty sure there's a list somewhere, on the web. However, you shouldn't make your decisions over a single source of information, I advise you to make your own analysis of the ICO you're planning to invest in. Just get a look at the community besides it, who are they, why they joined in... Usually, theses are the prime indicators of an ICO's health. Try to get information on the creator: if they try to hide their identity at all costs, then it's obviously fishy.
No one can hide its identity, nowadays: even Satoshi Sakamoto's true identity has been discovered by the NSA, using only his public emails and posts on forums, so, there's no point to do this anymore.
Anyway, people creating ICOs should be proud of what they are doing, and who they are. That's a sigil of trustworthiness, he gives you all the necessary infos on him to sue him if it goes sideways, ahah

To get back to our discussion, yeah, lots of scammers. The thing is, scammers are just thieves connected to the internet, and thieves likes money. What this forum is about? Future's money. Of course they are drawn here, that's easy money !

However, it has been proved that you can trace bitcoin transactions from one person to another, using only the blockchain explorer. Some shady ad-schemes has been shat down thanks to that new kind of data analysis.
To put it in another way, if you really get scammed by a lot, you might be able to arrest the person who did this to you, by simply calling the police and explain what happened. (I hope your country allow bitcoins, though)
Thank a lot for all the detailed explanations! Highly appreciated. However, not sure police and law have at the moment enough background and legal cases to intervene...not sure one can be prosecuted in any country for some crypto-related theft...No laws are ready yet Sad. that I think opens a lot of ways for scammers. For ICOs it's clear and true - thanks again!
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: October 03, 2017, 05:10:48 PM
Oh! Topic seems to become a bit confusing -
started like more about theft when people asking for pre-payment and just disappear
ended with scam ICOs
I expected to read more on the last one
Any "ICOs black-list" available???
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hey guys, how do I even buy altcoins? on: October 03, 2017, 05:05:11 PM

Coinbase is basically wallet based exchanger and they don't gave much of the scope for altcoins section. They are more into bitcoin than alts.
Oh! That's good no know - it is absolutely clear from the start
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO marketing instruments list (add yours) on: October 03, 2017, 11:42:03 AM
The best influencers and the most credible are the ones found from within your own network, where you already have a relationship...
That's of course and for sure and you are absolutely right, but I think that we can also attract more supporters - advisers. Just wonder if you can share some "best practices" here
48  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Rankings for the bounty campaigns managers on: October 03, 2017, 10:44:54 AM
... Or we need someone that's responsible, diligent??

Hey - responsible and diligent you can learn only through the time, but someone who is already reputable and well recognized by the community is must have here, I assume
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of ICO ban in China on: October 02, 2017, 06:27:13 AM
Well, I think the fair point here that the actual issue which the Chinese government is against - are those scammers who simply hunting for easy-money. But overall I think that is also not the most efficient way to fight those by simply prohibiting all ICOs in China.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Six Interesting facts about ICO on: October 02, 2017, 06:20:25 AM

52  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Rankings for the bounty campaigns managers on: September 28, 2017, 06:14:23 AM
There are many trusted campaign manager but some of them do not want to handle bounty campaign and it also depending on the availability of their time.
You can hire other user or higher ranked to run your campaign also it can helps to build trust to other users because there are lots of users want to have green trust for the good image of the account.
The question here then - how critical it is to hire a bounty campaign manager with lots of experience? I am not sure someone very new to that activity can manage the bounty campaign well Sad
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think an ICO, or coin, is all about the marketing? on: September 27, 2017, 07:26:32 AM
marketing is really important. If people dont known about your coin, your token. your project will failed even your product is the best
Absolutely agree- at least at communication level - marketing is a king here!
54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Post like a professional thread. on: September 22, 2017, 06:08:27 PM
Newbies can't post images. Don'k know about posting many links in single post. Because sometimes I see message "Suspicious link removed" on newbies posts.
What you can do now:
A) Wait until you reach Jr. Member rank to make post.
B) Make post now (images will be shown as links) and ask someone with higher rank to quote your post.
C) Ask someone with higher rank to post your thread.
Thank you - this is very helpful - because I was also not sure about lot's of links or external links in the posts in a Newbie rank
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of ICO ban in China on: September 22, 2017, 05:57:55 PM
As of today, Chinese Government is still doing stupid things neglecting the real worth of cryptocurrency ...
Very true. If we look back finally they were not able to do something about Bitcoin trading...overall it as silly as try to stop a high-speed-train with a brick wall

59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: social media campaign? -newbie on: September 22, 2017, 11:22:49 AM
...some little part of social media campaign allows newbie to participate in.
Well, maybe you are right, but I don't understand a reason for that? I think you can be a newbie on bitcointalk, but you  may have pretty large audience elsewhere - on e.g. Fb or Twitter
60  Local / Новички / Re: Система рангов на bitcointalk.org on: September 22, 2017, 11:18:23 AM

Все верно. Чтобы реранг получился нужен хотя бы 1 пост в новом периоде
мне кажется там реранг получается, но я так понимаю, что только после первого поста с новым рангом видно, что ранг обновился...нет ? там как-то так в правилах написано
