41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what is the prediction of ethereum as of now? on: July 08, 2019, 05:02:56 AM
I feel that BTC and ethereum have been following a similiar trend. Maybe not to the same extent but they definitely find growth and drops around the same time frame
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Defining Proof of Stake on: July 08, 2019, 02:29:27 AM
I liked this breakdown of the current definition of Proof of Stake and how there are three known problems behind the current definition. See below:

“PoS refers to the entire class of mechanisms whereby the amount of cryptocurrency you hold determines the extent to which you can participate in consensus.”

Problem 1: Very high level and ignores real externalties.
Problem 2: No distinction between systems with different properties.
Problem 3: Systems with similar non-stake mechanisms end up getting unfairly grouped together.

What I liked about this article is that it explains to the reader that just by claiming PoS doesn't give the  platform enough respect and knowledge where due.

What  are your thoughts on the current definition and PoS systems?

I know Nuls was mentioned a few times here and for a good reason. They are really pushing for easy development in the space since companies are really on the hunt for more blockchain developers!
44  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CipherTrace and Shyft unveil a fix for draconian FATF anti-terrorism rules on: July 03, 2019, 11:00:46 PM
I can see why people are upset about this because it still seems like KYC but these two pro-crypto companies are quite active in protecting people's privacy and the industry in general. If they didn't I don't think Ciphertrace and shyft would be thriving and trusted by big exchanges like binance.

I try to as much as I can either running or yoga
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Easiest Blockchain to Deploy on: July 01, 2019, 08:46:12 PM
So why are there so many DAPPS being developed on the competition instead? Tronix and EOS in this case?

Seeing that the two you named are not quite decentralized if you want to compare and contrast. NULS hasn't launched mainnet yet either so I bet we will likely see more dapps soon
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM malware on: July 01, 2019, 08:29:26 PM
For sure a scam. I read somewhere that these btc ATMs have AML compliance now. Ciphertrace does all of their tracking I believe
48  Economy / Exchanges / Re: QuadrigaCX investigation reveals an alarming lack of accountability on: June 26, 2019, 06:33:29 PM
Just shows why we would want more regulation on exchanges. I still can't believe the founder of the exchange could pull off something this big, no wonder he did an exit escape
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow! Exchanges track how you spend btc! on: June 25, 2019, 04:47:29 PM
To my knowledge exchanges hire third party cyber security firms like ciphertrace and identity mind to help watch movements of money for AML compliance purposes. I don't think they analyze every detail of how btc is spent but more so on illegal motives and movements
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are losing confident and interest in altcoins on: June 22, 2019, 01:39:19 AM
I don't think people are at all. There are some really awesome projects in the pipeline and even more unfolding. I am looking forward to watching projects like NULS and cosmos
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elixxir's Selection for the BetaNet Node Program on: June 22, 2019, 01:37:17 AM
Everyone is really excited about this project even the XRP army because of Chris Larsens huge investment into it. 600 nodes looks solid too!
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NULS: A “One Click” Chain-Building and Cross-Chain Ecosystem on: June 20, 2019, 05:36:07 PM
This definitely sounds like a project that is ideal for businesses who want to implement blockchain technology but don't necessarily need their entire own. They could easily deploy with a click and look to the features you offer to make it custom for them. I really like this idea and think it will showcase the necessity of blockchain for busness
53  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US Regulator Accuses Head of Defunct British BTC Company $147 Mil Fraud on: June 20, 2019, 05:29:57 PM
I understand how people that are crypto native can have little sympathy for these sorts of instances but what about the people who really don't have much background knowledge of crypto? My worry is it's going to put a bad taste in their mouth and any of those who hear this story. Yes we need regulation from companies that specialize in AML like ciphertrace but we also really need proper education and onboarding for these types of companies to make sure it doesn't carry on overtime.
54  Bitcoin / Legal / Decrypting Crypto on: June 18, 2019, 11:59:42 PM
With the recent Libra news announced it will be interesting to hear the compliance expectations for companies that are moving forward using crypto currency as well as all policies and procedures to spot suspicious transactions.

another reason why we need a decentralized internet. web 3.0 can't come soon enough
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: David Chaum Sees Elixxir Platform for Enterprise on: June 16, 2019, 10:31:16 PM
Guys David Chaum is an OG, you should know it by researching his credentials. This guy is a living legend, though I'm investing to random projects but I might invest to this one.

I agree. Just one quick search and you can see this guy has really invested his life to protecting cryptography and privacy. I am also very interested to see whre Elixxir  goes
57  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Today my faith in humanity was restored on: June 05, 2019, 05:28:02 PM
Keeping our planet clean and healthy is a community effort must we not forget. I think too often we do the 'what we don't see, doesn't exist' and this in itself is what damages the entire ecosystem.
58  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto exchange Coinroom disappears with customers funds, Website Offline on: June 05, 2019, 05:19:57 PM
I think there is a few things that all of us could do. First is majorly education and teaching users about how to properly store their funds and why keeping them on exchanges might not be the best way. The second being the need for compliance on the exchange's end. Firms like Ciphertrace are set in place to project any signs of money laundering or suspicious activities. Just like a bank would be able to notify you for any signs of fraudulent activity.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Confidence in Cryptocurrency on: June 03, 2019, 10:46:42 PM
Having proper compliance implemented especially AML compliance through cyber security firms like Ciphertrace. Restores confidence in investments and knowing their money is safe
