41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you find your news? on: November 07, 2017, 06:07:53 PM
Bitcointalk. Valuable if you know where to look.

Telegram. Channel Upcoming ICOs, group TokenMarket, also some nice groups.

Google Alerts. If you configure it well, it will get you a lot of great stuff each day or week according to how frequently you want it to actually alert you of the news you'd like to get. No dependency on any particular medium.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO directories on: November 07, 2017, 05:57:37 PM
Don't think about the sources too much man, you already got great sources at your list. Which are good for getting info for new ICOs. My advice though is that don't rely so much on the basic infos you get on those sites about ICOs. Knowing the name of a new ICO is good enough info to absorb from these sites.

The rest? Research about it. Specially the developing team of the ICO tonsave time. And if the team is good or great, then proceed on reqding the amm thread of the ICO and them the white paper next. Doing these can guve you a lot of chance to get into more promising ICOs than scam ICOs.

Good luck.

That goes without saying that making your own research is a must. But the author of the question is a newbie so that might be wise enough to try to find some experts' opinions like on icorating.com to start from there.

It's hard to draw the right conclusions solely based on your own analysis when you do not know how to analyze (yet). So checking out resources like icorating, smith and crown, icobench, something else like that could be not a bad idea in this case, but of course, you should always critically treat someone else's advice in any situation because it's your decision and your money in the end.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO directories on: November 07, 2017, 05:25:24 PM
Here's a good one that I've recently come across:
http://iconow.net/all-ico-calendarlisting-sites-with-alexa-rank-and-traffic/

Haven't dug into that yet but they claim to list all ICO calendar/listing sites. There's also Alexa rank for each, which can be useful to understand the meaning of each of the websites listed there.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone know of a functioning precious metal cryptocurrency??? on: November 07, 2017, 05:20:58 PM
Goldmint might be something you are looking for, launching Gold cryptoassets in Q4 according to their roadmap.

We are doing our best to announce the next deal as soon as possible! Currently, we are working on the legal issues of the deal, so the news are about to be announced very soon!
Looking forward to the next deal! Any idea on what it could be, maybe some shortlist worked out?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of alts won't survive the Forks on: November 07, 2017, 05:01:07 PM
Despite those aimed at speculations, there are also a lot of people who play long term, believing in one project or another, one particular coin or another. Good coins, projects should be fine.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: many ICO altcoin , What can be trusted? on: November 07, 2017, 04:53:00 PM
Check for listings on known websites like icocountdown, tokenmarket and others. Check for ratings on icorating, icobench and others. Check for press mentions on top media, you name those that you trust. Check for comments on bitcointalk especially those from top ranked members. Most importantly, do your own analysis: study the white paper and the team's background.

Congratulations to the ACE team! With the BTC rate, you have collected $7.5 mln.!

Sounds good. What about you guys, are you happy with how the ICO has been going?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do altcoin bounties crash the price? on: October 24, 2017, 06:06:30 PM
As a person who has participated in a few bounties till now, I assure you that bounty people never dump their coins in haste. If you look at it this way, mostly bounty tokens are distributed after 2-4 weeks or normal token distribution. So by this time the token has mostly made its own price range between which it trades.

Being listed on exchanges rarely happens immediately after the token distribution date. It usually takes several weeks to get listed as far as I know, so bounty people still have an opportunity. Cheesy

Also bounty tokens are only a very less percentage of total distribution, so they cannot lead to dumping of prices.

I think so too. Actually, the total bounty pool of an ICO is hardly more than 2%. I have met 1% in most cases, and the ranges 0.5-1.5%. So that's not likely to be a big deal anyway.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Blockchain platform for the trillion dollar apartment rental industry. on: October 24, 2017, 05:59:13 PM
It looks interesting but who is on the team and what is your guys experience in both blockchain and real estate? Or (and) do you have escrow?
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is important to find an escrow for ICO project? on: October 24, 2017, 05:53:24 PM
Escrow is good. But first, it must look 100% credible to all or the vast majority of the community, and second, good ones always require huge fees. So I wouldn't say that escrow is a must-have for all ICOs. Team, their background and reputation in some cases work even better anyway (and definitely must be one of the key criteria when choosing a project to support).
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 🐳 TOKENATOR | ICO Token Deals With Up To 80% Off | Buy Like A Whale! 🐳 on: October 24, 2017, 05:10:49 PM
Nice project. Joining promising ICO projects with big discounts and low budgets seems to be a great idea for the market.

Now there is likely to be only Goldmint available with 50% bonus. Looks great but I'm just curious - what are your plans, do you already know what projects will be next with big bonuses on Tokenator? Maybe any schedule?

Thanks.

I see that the bounty campaign manager has negative Trust - how did that happen? Never met with such a situation so don't know... Is everything fine with the bounty campaign guys?
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: October 24, 2017, 04:58:30 PM
That's the market. Short-term trends can and will reverse all the time, back and forth.

But in the long-term, I am sure the trend is only one: general (yet not all-embracing though) growth. The trick is to understand in due time what exactly coins will not only survive but will also grow and moon... But again, that's the market.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TokenSale with discount 7000%] DivM Group - Investments in real incomes on: October 24, 2017, 04:44:06 PM
The title of your thread says: "TokenSale with discount 7000%." What does it mean 7000%? Just a mistake?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO regulation good or bad? on: October 10, 2017, 08:39:26 AM
I think there will be more huge investors which will invest into ICOs. In this case prices for ICOs will get even more expensive and make it difficult to make profits for small investors.
I think the market will find a way to let small investors back in even if that trend takes place, referring to microtransactions, crowdfunding, 'kickstarter'.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for the best ICO... on: October 10, 2017, 08:29:14 AM
What ICO details do you guys look into when deciding on whether one is bad, or good, or the best? Team, product, market volume, anything else? Would be really interesting to learn about your criteria.

First of all remember that the chances of success are rather slim (I wrote an article about it here -> https://www.kela.io/the-coin-that-wont-make-you-rich.html)

Then... look at the idea, does it seem plausible/ interesting/ high growth potential/ etc.

And most importantly! Look at the team. The team's background. Do they keep everything public? Or do they hide? (FYI - that's one of the reasons I kept my username here and everywhere else to be my real name - I have nothing to hide) What did they work on before? Do they have experience? How invested are they in this? See if you can reach out to them and see if you can get a feel for these things in addition to checking out everything online. Granted, they may not always have time, but you never know.

Good luck!
Of course, I understand and agree that the chances are pretty much like with funding a 'regular' startup. I agree that the team cannot hide and must have a solid background. Without that, I would not even start reading a white paper.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO regulation good or bad? on: October 10, 2017, 08:19:11 AM
The final goal of any regulation is protection. Ok, maybe in the perfect world. But anyway, I believe "ICO regulation" is not a single, pre-defined substance so that we could say whether it is good or not. One regulation might be good, another one might be bad. What seems to be more interesting to me is what a good regulation is or would be (along with what a bad one is as well).

Agreed. Do you have any ideas? This is a discussion I find immensely interesting.

Well, the one thing I can say right away is I believe that ban is not regulation. In fact.
