In a short time view, the answer is yes. ICO in 2018 is very less return than 2017, even most of them break the ICO price.

But in a long time view, the answer is no. Crypto is still a small thing than other investments. So join in right now will make you have 10x to 1000x return in no more than 3 years.

In the current market, it is better to buy in the market than join the ICO for more than 90% of projects. Break the ICO price when the token list in the exchange is common to most of the tokens.

So unless it is very very hot, others you can wait it list on exchange.

I think besides bitcoin, the new king next to bitcoin is tezos. It has a very strong developing team, a strong community, and foundation. It will be top 5 at the end of this year and will top 2 in 3 years.

The real problem in altcoin is that no rules or laws will regular the founders that make so many scams in the crypto world. It is so easy to make a scam ICO with fake information, it hurt the crypto much.

I would like to tell you that you should keep 90% above of cryptos in you own wallet(the private key controlled by yourself).

As the crypto exchange can be hacked or banned or something others bad happen, you will lose the crypto in exchange.

I am agree with you that ethereum will not take palce of bitcoin. As the ethereum has some advantage and has some success in ICO market, I still don't think of that.

Bitcoin is the core of crypto, it is like the gold, no one will replace that.
