41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: March 08, 2018, 12:14:57 PM
Good morning everyone,

I would like to say that after some thought our team decided to giveaway a consolation reward of 1k Intense to all those that missed the airdrop due to slack username issue.

I hope that everyone can accept this as a gesture of goodwill, and also accept my apologies for the issues experienced.

Have a great weekend,

Francisco
Very nice gesture! I did not even bother to join airdrop (dont have 100 followers) but congrats to everyone that got it! 1k ITNS could be 1000$ next year so let's hope everybody holds what they get and are thankful for great generosity.

is there a masternode plan here?

No but there is a master plan.
Check roadmap, white paper and news letters.

Its kind of annoying having dual 1400W Gold class PSU in the server but no PCIe power connectors from the PSUs.
So there is breakout-boards that can solve this so I can use existing PSUs?

My server is Supermicro 2042-6RF.

From the quick look I did, I don't think you have PSU's that can use breakout boards.  The Liteon's in the Dells and the HP ones are readily available on Ebay.  From what I saw of the connectors, technically I guess you could MacGyver something by soldering leads to the pins of the PSU but you would still have to buy cabling.

Picking up an HP1200w PSU and breakout board with cables is normally ~100 or so on ebay.

Thanks! I will check Ebay if I need powering some more GPUs.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: March 07, 2018, 08:22:47 AM

Regarding filling empty PCIe slots I think these server power supplies does not have PCIe power connectors? So we are limited to cards with power from PCIe slot ony or using external power supplies? I have a Supermicro quad socket Opteron 6276 machine but CPU mining only on that one. I figured out that by using external power supply and powered risers it may be possible using GPUs too but right now I have a separate GPU mining rig.

Breakout boards...  All my HP server iron have GPUs running along with the CPUs.  Boxes like the r815 that don't have the onboard connectors to power them but could easily run GPUs with the addition of external PSU and risers.

Coin has a good name, algo, simple feature set and roadmap.  Wallet interface is nice and clean.

I'd like to see more updates on how the roadmap and marketing are progressing. Do these conversations
take place outside of the ANN thread?

Name is good, but those new Credits (CS) stole it and hyped their ICO. So I'm wondering if rebranding would be a good idea. For discussion join discord channel, people are very active there.

Rebrand would be good for CRDS. Look Nano and Neo. Both had names which was not very attractive.
I think the name credits is not enough, in addition its been hijacked .
It would be nice to rebrand in accordance with new wallet release.

I would agree, I think a rebranding would be the way to go, I think there should be a new poll to find out if the majority of the community support it

Rebranding could also reduce the confusion between the old and the new website and also confusion between old and new github.

What's the advantage of building a $500 system doing 1600hs and then building 60x of them? That's still $30k. When you can get the same hash with just 2x 4xx/5xx cards or 1x vega and still have more slots to lower the system power overhead? Just spend your $30k on modern, faster, more efficient hardware...

Please show me where you can purchase these cards in bulk at a price that is not astronomical as I would love to fill my empty PCIe slots with them.  Some of us are on the path of putting whatever iron on the fire that is making money, even if it isn't exactly the most efficient or latest wiz bang contraption.  Even better, when / if (Cheesy) GPU prices get back to normal, we have tons of open slots ready to accept them with minimal config and downtime.  Until then, they at the minimum, more than cover the expense for electricity of the combined GPU/CPU mining activity and earn back their own cost, slowly but surely, even in the depressed market we are in compared to 3 months ago.

-=Slow Growth=-

Someone might see what I did there... Cheesy

Until then, I snipe cards when and where I can if they are relatively close to what msrp was.

Aha, you are mining IntenceCoin :-)

USP = Unique Selling Point

I think CPU mining only in combination with masternodes is special.
But I am also interested in what future plans are to make this coin more useful in real world.
I mean it works well and everything is nice but I guess a lot of marketing and real world use cases are needed to make this a success.

Hi, what is real official website: crds.co or crds.io? Huh

why did you ask this question ,is there some scam website right now?
i find it  on OP , this is official website https://crds.co/
Did you check https://crds.io
2 website have a little different

When trying to download the Windows version gives a 404 error.
Link redirects to:
https://github.com/credits-crds/credits/releases/download/v1.0.0.0/Credits-Windows-x64-v1.0.0.0-Setup.exe

.io is harmless & outdated.
.co should take over .io, because .co is a country as well.
.io is more common in the eCoin world.

I got, but the final release is v1.1.1

You get v1.1.1 on https://crds.co/#download

Edit: At least according to file name. I don't use Windows and compile from source so I have actually not installed precompiled versions.

It looks to me that official website has the download links correct. You have probably got wrong link from the old website that is outdated and no longer valid. I know it is confusing and have done the same mistake myself. Original developer left early and someone else took over with no control of old website so they had to create a new website and new github. Problem is that old ones can not be removed. The link to website on first page in this thread is the correct one.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: On March 1, the beginning of the bullish trend? on: March 02, 2018, 02:18:56 PM
What do you mean with first day of spring? You are one month too early.
Looking out of the windows watching the snow falling and temperatures around -10 C...
Guess it depends where you live.

But yes I think we are in the beginning of a bullish trend of the altcoins. The bottom was on February 6 for bitcoin and the rest will follow soon.

1'st of March is a first day of Spring and if your country are too far from equator that's not the problem of the others.

What exactly "trend" for altcoin? As I see nothing changed too much.

What about people south of equator? They have autumn. World is bigger than your country wherever it may be.

But look at Litecoin for example. Higher today than one month ago.

I think Alex is not in the team any more. The Pigwee (Casey) is the new community manager (see feb 15 update) and he is in this thread once and a while and can reach other team members if needed.

https://intensecoin.com/#team

So they should make a new thread.

Why do you think so? It is still the same coin.
It is only confusing having many ANN threads, I hate when they do that.
One ANN thread for one coin is best in my opinion.

Edit: But they should update first post with correct information regarding the team. If that not possible they may still need a new thread so I think I understand what you mean.

They can't edit if the dude with the account is no more in the team and they don't have his password....

First thing i do before investing into a crypto is to look at the profil of the person who made the announcement and if this person is active or not... A lot of people do like me. It works like that since the beginning of bitcointalk.

Yes I realized that, hence my edit. Makes sense to wait until rebranding because then a new thread is needed anyway.

Price of LCC is 10 times higher on Yobit than other exchanges
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin-cash/#markets

So people can buy LCC at Cryptobridge, transfer to Yobit and sell for 1000% profit?
Sounds too good to be true so please explain why there is a price difference.

Monoeci and Crown seems like good masternode coins with a purpose. It is hard to find the good 10% Masternode coins.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Possible to do mining segregation? Mining master pls come in! on: February 22, 2018, 07:58:56 AM
You can do it just like Castle07 described. I don't see why it should be a problem. Actually it can be a nice way to try other coins with one of the GPU to see if it is Worth changing all GPU's to other coin than currently mining. Or just to diversify and spreading the risks.

I made a list of links to mining calculators hoping that some would give me some merit, but it did not happen.

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoNight vs EquiHash/EtHash on: February 19, 2018, 02:58:48 PM
Generally if the coins are on top of whattomine.com then people start to mine them and they go down the list. Other coins go up on the list and people switch and these coins do also go down the list.

So maybe it is a good thing to mine coins that are not at top of the list and keep mining until they rise on the list again? If you go back in time a while you may remember that equihash coins have been on top of the list Before and now they are coming back. I would not be surprised if cryptonight coins will come back on top again in future. It goes in cycles.
