Another day, another hack. Basically My Ether Wallet was hacked via the chrome extension hola. At this point it isn't known how many users have been affected or how many tokens have been lost. https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/07/10/mew-hack-hola/So my question to you is will you still use MEW? Do you think it is their responsibility what happened? The hack that happened a couple months ago was bad enough, but now another one? I find it hard to believe that their credibility will be salvaged after this.

Personally Binance is my favorite, because they have some of the lowest fees in the industry (especially if you use BNB), and they have a really nice platform that is quick and user friendly. I am a big fan of Decentralized exchanges as well. ddex.io is a great up and coming dex. idex.market is another really good dex. If you are going to use a dex, it's better that you utilize Metamask. Security first, friends. Hacks are becoming more and more common all the time.

This is a really serious problem, and I feel like there needs to be some kind of system introduced to remedy this. One of the simplest and easiest ways to check to see if a bounty is real or not is to consider whether or not the amount they are offering in their bounty is reasonable. The ones offering 1 million USD + should be really really good companies otherwise chances are they are they aren't going to deliver on promises.

I'm pretty sure that the cases of people leaving their jobs, selling their homes, etc, are extreme cases. I don't think that this is normal, or a lot of people are doing it, (at least I hope not). That being said, I quit college for crypto. Kind of...I mostly just did it cause college sucked though. Crypto is just so revolutionary though. If you open your mind to crypto and really see the potential it can blow you away. I know it did to me.

Check out the team, check out their social media. Try to take a look at the company from the view of a customer. Does their project make you want to buy their product, or use their services? Do they impress you? How far along are they with their platform/product? Nowadays most people promoting a project are getting paid to do it, so it's hard to take the advice of people who are telling you to invest in a project. Keep your head up out there. Watch out for projects that seem to good to be true, (They probably are).

Scam Accusations section is the right place to report scam bounty campaign and ICO project . You just need to create a new thread in this section to report but don't forget to read first to get the right report form . But IMO I think $700k for a bounty campaign is not something really big cause there are so many bounty campaigns spent number of token worth millions dollars for bounty hunters Okay right on, thanks for the redirection. If a moderator would like to close this topic, I think that would be appropriate. I apologize for the misdirected post.

So, obviously there is a lot of bounties out there that are not that great, some of them are really good, but some of them just scams. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4419196.0I just found this project, and it has some things that worry me. First bad sign was a "guaranteed prize pool of 700k USD for bounty participants". No project can realistically guarantee a prize pool that big. Started to dig a little further and took a look at their reddit presence https://www.reddit.com/user/1apayment/ (basically non-existent) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIJMXVm3bqn5SK9PvGXxqkQ - Youtube channel is very primary. After taking a look at their team, it pretty much closed the deal for me. I can't prove beyond a doubt that it is a scam, but everything adds up. I'm not saying that I've proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is a scam, but I want to open a conversation to see what people think about this, and to see what kind be done about this kind of thing. Anyways, I am wondering if there is a better place I could have posted this, or how else to deal with this. In my opinion it is important to keep the message boards clean, and to get rid of projects that don't deserve attention. Is there a system in place to deal with this sort of thing? If so, what is it, and can low reputation individuals such as myself contribute?

Hello everyone!
Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?
At the start of this year I seriously expected Ethereum to take serious gains over Bitcoin, however that hasn't happened at all, in fact Ethereum has lost market share compared to Bitcoin. As far as usage is concerned, Ethereum wins, hands down, but it seems that there is to many other things driving Bitcoin up for it to be slowed down. Unless we see some serious trend changes, Bitcoin will continue its dominance in my opinion.

When i see the dozens of ico's everyday i ask directly a simple question...Is it easy to this degree to make a ico??
Compared to conventional methods of funding, creating an ico is very easy. It has allowed for a marketplace that is overrun with half baked ideas, and companies that at times have little more than ideas based loosely on blockchain innovations. So, simply put, it is very easy to make an ico.

Personally I don't read white papers. My strategy usually involves picking projects that have been backed by individuals that are trustworthy enough that I don't need to doubt whether or not the project is legit. The scams that are coming out now have gotten so much better that simply reading the white paper doesn't give you enough to go on to discover whether it is a scam or not. At least not for me.

To be frank, this is the worst time to consider leaving crypto! Crypto has potential to spike at almost any time for any number of reasons, so there is lots of reasons to be excited. Will there always be 100% gains though? Clearly not. But you have to outwait the bears to enjoy the bull runs.

I must agree. For a time etherdelta was the best option out there with decent volume for certain coins, however projects like idex.com and ddex.com are up and coming, and they are really setting a standard for what decentralized exchanges should look like and how they should function.

I think that the current bear market definitely has an effect on bounty rewards. Unfortunately, I don't see campaigns being able to increase the size of their bounty pools much because of this. The best option in my opinion is just to pick really good projects that will reach their hardcaps, and appreciate in value once they hit exchanges.

EOS has been shilled by many high level companies and advisors, but recently it's governance model has been called into question bringing doubts into investors minds and causing heavy corrections during dips. If they fix their problems, then now is a great time to buy, but if they don't, investors need to be wary.

Ethereum just took a real nice dip. A lot of people were bullish before the dip, so in my opinion this is a great time to pick some discount ethereum.
