41  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Terrahash Miner DX Mini, DX Large and Modular Boards - Preorder on: June 17, 2013, 03:15:16 PM

A cheaper option is to order directly from terrahash.com, cut out the middle man, and pay a lower price!

Selling pre-orders before they have even been placed is complete BS!!!  Angry

Move along, there is nothing of value being offered here.

Yes that is a cheaper option. And your order will be in a long line of preorders since not everyone will be able to order on the 18th.
Thanks for your comment.

Total scam

I do not appreciate you calling me a scammer just cause you feel like it.
I can provide any info the buyer needs to feel comfortable, besides accepting paypal, local pickup and ebay protection. Things I would obviously not do if this was a scam.
Thanks for your comment.

45  Bitcoin / Group buys / Terrahash 180 gh/s groupbuy - registered account for preorders on: June 15, 2013, 11:41:57 AM
Hi guys, I just got an email from TERRAHASH stating they will start accepting preorders on the 18th from users who registered before that email was sent. I have a registered account so will be able to preorder.
I believe Terrahash is a legit operation, plus they have an office in California and will accept Paypal as payment.
At CoinAngels.org we are interested in buying some of these units and would like to know if there are people interested in a couple of groupbuys for more units.
We can do a groupbuy of X units at 1B/share so most people get the chance to come onboard.
All transactions will be done using escrow for everyone's peace of mind.
What do you think?
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: terrahash.com??? on: June 15, 2013, 11:34:09 AM
I've been watching them for some weeks and they seem very legit, plus they have an office in the US and will accept paypal as payment.
Yesterday I got an email from them saying they will open pre-orders on the 18th for people who have previously registered an account with them.
I will be ordering some units if I get some people interested in a group buy at 1B/share. Probably another group buy at 0.5B/share for "poor" people to get the chance to come onboard as well.
Transactions will be done using escrow for everyone's peace of mind.
Anyone interested?

Why not join BitAngels (http://www.bitangels.co/)?

We are actually thinking about that. But we'd like to have our own portfolio and funds once we approach them.

What are your thoughts about our venture?

I think you need to beef up the "who we are" section if you want to attract investors.

This sounds like a nice way of saying "unemployed guy."

So does this.

This is much better.  I'm not saying you or Diego are unemployed but those descriptions are less than impressive IMO.  Just some constructive criticism.  Best of luck.

Thx for the contructive criticism Prophet!
I totally see your point and agree with you 100%.
Updated. Better?

CoinAngels is a group of entrepreneurs that has a website.

I lol'd.

Sadly I did too  Grin
He has a point though and I guess it's just a matter of time before we become something more than a website.  Wink

Hi everybody,

Me and 2 other friend entrepreneurs just launched CoinAngels, an open-to-everyone incubator for digital currency related startups.
Our goal is to fund and advise as many startup teams as possible, in order to accelerate and spread the use of digital currency.
We obviously need 2 things, funds from donators & investors and fellow entrepreneurs, gurus, geeks who would like to join our community as advisors to the startup teams.

Our objectives for this initial stage is to raise funds for the following:
Invest in mining hardware in order to have some cash flow to cover operating costs and generate more funds to invest in Startups without the need of further investments/donations.
I personally have 6 BFLs pre ordered that I will donate to CoinAngels.
Goal: U$S 7000 to buy 1 Jupiter KNC Miner
Fund 2 startups so they can develop working prototypes in the next 2 months.
Goal: U$S 10,000

Have an idea? Apply for funding.
Want to help? Join us.

What are your thoughts about our venture?

Help spread the word.

Jorge

Regeringsgatan 111 is the yellow building

If you are interested in the truck Wink

You can see ORSoC's sign, they are located at first floor

FPGA prototype, it runs at 428W no matter there is hashing load or not. Due to statistics delay from BTC guild, I can't see there is any PPLNS share submited even after the meeting finished, but BTC guild's dashboard showed 6.2G hash speed for their miner anyway and the chart showed some rising hash rate after we finished meeting

Others surely have more video and photos to share

The most terrible memory is their inhouse parking nearby, it cost me almost $50 for 3 hour's parking, and even if I park for a day it cost only $60 Shocked

Thx for the pics!
55  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: knc miners on: June 05, 2013, 08:13:06 PM
Are they legit?
Any idea of how many pre ordered units they have and what their daily production capacity will be?
What are your thoughts about knc?

You should ask in the already existing thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.0

There's also this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214285.0
About the open-day they had earlier today. A few member of our community attended and will post videos and a compiled list of Q&As either today or tomorrow I'd guess.

General impressions seem positive. I'm leaning more towards this being legit and will risk a purchase. But check out those threads and decide for yourself.

Thx Emmie!
56  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GBSB - a new way to GET and SPEND bitcoins on: June 05, 2013, 11:13:15 AM
We are developing a new service that matches BTC spenders and BTC buyers through online retailers (starting with just Amazon).

Spenders: Bitcoin user who want to purchase items from major online retailers using bitcoins at a DISCOUNT.
1. Enter URLs of their amazon wishlist (e.g. http://amzn.com/w/32ARMOSOZDQYV).
2. Fund account with sufficient bitcoins.
3. This creates an semi-anonymous "spend order," with which buyers will be matched with.

Buyers: Users who would like to acquire bitcoins easily, using credit card, at a reasonable premium.
1. Enter in $ amount of how much BTC to acquire, creating a "buy order."
2. GBSB matches the buy order with a spend order.
3. Buyer receives the URL to the wishlist, and makes the purchase for Spender (no personal info is shared with buyer)

After Spender receives the item, he confirms with GBSB, which releases the bitcoins to the Buyer. This essentially makes us a streamlined escrow service.

Currently, we'd like to get a small group of both buyers and spenders to test our service, and provide feedback about the usability of this service. As an incentive, early adopting Spenders will receive a discount on amazon purchases of 5%, and Buyers will only pay a 5% premium. Buyers must have Amazon Prime.

I have an amazon prime account and would like to participate in the test. Let me know if you are still looking for testers.

I ordered some BFLs last week and im wondering if they will be obselete once I get them....
Will they work for mining LTC or other currencies? If not out of the box, any chance they can be modified to do so?
