Yep, big guy left (I assume for GHash for this week).

I've got some proxying code in testing currently, assuming it works fine, in the next few hours we should be reaping all the benefits of the GHash promo, without you guys having to do anything.

Essentially, miners pointed to WP will keep having shares logged at WP, earnings logged at WP etc.  The earnings will be a bit less granular due to needing to be manually proxied.  I'll take the earnings from Ghash, and move it into WP as if we had found X number of LTC blocks, where X is [earnings / 50].  So once this is live, should see blocks found slow down (we won't be finding them) and every hour or so, a massive influx of "found blocks", and payouts from those Smiley

Good job- dont have to point away now  Cool

They (https://www.multipool.us/stats.php) AUR and MOON actively produce, we do not?

We removed MOON because you can't sell them any more.  Cryptsy is actively removing them from listing (coinedup already did), and there is 0 buy orders.  Everyone mining them is mining something you really can't sell...

AUR was disabled a bit ago because of the super long maturation time.  Its being debated whether or not we add it back, but I'm very hesitant due to the threats on it.

Do you have the possibility to maybe mine only a limited amount of AUR blocks per day? This way we could still grab some chances AUR is offering while not completely being dependend on them (like last time).

Example: Over the whole day your profit tool states 25 AUR blocks were most profitable ones, but we stopped mining them after 10 blocks (Something like this)

anyone word at the knc forum about anything KNC related? Anyone?

the last useful bit of information was a support mail answer from emilia that "they hope the datacenter will be ready by end of april in case everything goes smooth" - read what you want from that....
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 04, 2014, 04:40:17 PM
I haven't checked in here for awhile, I come back and it looks like the village has even more ruins and more fires than before. Well done KNC!

And the banter is as lively as ever. So, no news from KNC on the equipment? Where is Orama?

Let's face the truth - he probably got handcuffed and stored away after his "preliminary design phase" statement. One sentence from him caused coupled hundreds of Neptune refunds - he was a honest dude with good reputation... this is bad for KnC business at these times - peoples' skin are too thin  Lips sealed

Hi,

I got some experience with different 280x cards. Tried to tweak them as much as possible - still some room I guess, but they are stable....

All on Asrock Extreme 4 (dunno if this is the best, but a lot of ppl use it, its cheap and has an external power switch)
- 4x MSI Twin Frzn (they do 750-760 kH @ 0.99v undervolt)
- 4x Gigabyte Windforce (they do 750-760 kH @ 1.08v)
- 4x Sapphire Vapor (they do 730 kH @0.99v)
- 4x Sapphire Dual X OC (they do 730 kH @ between 1.05v - 1.2v)

--- no clue about Asus and Powercolor

Imho best cards from this set are the MSI. I would not recommend the Sapphire (especially not the Dualx X OC), they have problems with heat... some kind of autothrottle in case of higher temps... even with good cooling and tweaked bios I can not squeeze out more than 730/740 kH.

Hope that helps

Cheers

Edit: Another important information. All systems draw around 1100-1200 W @wall with a gold/platin PSU - you need at least 1200W PSU

So for payouts today, we're in the same spot as a couple days ago.  Essentially I withdraw everything in Cryptsy (99btc at that time), and normally that would cover all of the payouts (we owe like 90 with the threshold).  However, since the withdrawal took 5 hours, we now have 99btc in our local wallet, and owe 114 total.  I've withdrawn the next set from Cryptsy just now.  If it takes the normal amount of time (5-10 minutes), everyone will get paid at the same time.  If it decides to take 5 hours (or anything more than the next 30 minutes), I'll send out a payment for whatever users we can, and the 2nd payout will come later tonight whenever the withdrawal goes through.  I'll give you guys an update in 20-30 minutes one way or another Smiley

got it - thanks Wink

First one is highly likely KnC "Plan B" Farm

The good news is part of it is already up and running, so likely one of those big Eligius users is KNC, and that is why they keep growing so much. Looks like the rest of this facility could be up and running by end of March? Maybe that's the bad news.

Good point - highly likely the top two eligius contributers (~2 PH) are KnC
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 14, 2014, 12:05:33 PM
1000 refunded orders, that's gonna hurt.
Not if you are mining with equipment purchased with customers money, selling the btc and giving people refunds with the mining profits.

I certainly didn't see any comment in the newsletter about the video we've all seen with 1000 boards hashing in their new datacentre.

true enough, reckon they'll sell 'em?
I don't think they care too much about Neptune in 2014.

They will force everybody onto a 6 month cloud hashing contract. I mean, if they announce you can have 6 months cloud from June or wait for Neptune, that is going to be delayed until at least November, who in their right mind would wait?

Eventually they'll make Neptune, to pad out their arctic empire, as it will be lower power than the jupiter boards. But probably we won't see it until 2015.

In the meantime, we'll see just how much truth lies behind their February 2014 statement of "As we are getting closer to the launch date of Neptune", as time progresses.

How close is "closer", is "closer" close enough?.... and when doesnt "closer" start to be not close enough anymore...

Useful post Biffa, I agree - Especially to the question "when is Neptune considered late" - basically this is the only thing really interesting for me and will decide whether I dump or stick to my orders.

yeah.....you want to see me go over to the dark side here..all they have to say is .."your virtual neptunes you ordered will be hashing at 6gh on march 1st"

if they do that and I can practically forgive anything ....including the hiring of josh from BFL for PR.....

(I'm such a gh hash sl*t)

it would be the quickest way to get me to go from "what the f*c*" to ...

er ummmm...hmmmm ...er ...NEVERMIND

Exactly - I just have the hope they find the sweet spot between own and customer interests. 6gh?? You are a cheap fellow to buy  Grin

Thank you for the update. Very informative.

You factor broken gear, but what about decommissioned hardware ?
When difficulty will go up, old hardware (1-100Gh/s) will eventualy be sent to the trash.
It may amount to 1-5 Phs.

I doubt they'll hash forever, even if some people have access to free power.

Eric

I am remember someone calculatiing that at current BC pricetag even the least energy efficient asics out there are still profitable until multiple b difficulty. If this is true people will not turn them off. Would be glad in case someone could dig this out. Will also keep my eyes open on that point

as usual the above follow the conclusions I really really have NO IDEA....still grappling with all this

Something some folks may not be considering is the resale value of their system, or lack thereof. If KNC doesn't allow for a transfer of equipment, will they allow a transfer of mining contract? At least with the hardware, there's always someone out on ebay willing to buy it from you, likely above MSRP even if you can sell it soon after receiving.

You could still subcontract the miner out, but would you ever get $13k back from it? Doubtful.

If it were me, I would look at it like this: A lot of the folks who were KNC-crazy the past few months, who claim to have made huge profits on their first units, either didn't preorder the Neptune or refunded their Neptunes over the past month.

That's worth considering.

All correct - still - in case KnC provides 3 TH for CA batch in - lets say mid of April - I still consider it a good deal - virtual or nonvirtual. This is for sure under the assumption they have honest motives, which a lot of people in here doubt (me not btw).
