41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Resetter RF: a new device that keeps your rigs online. Beta test coming soon! on: June 21, 2018, 07:46:33 AM

Very early prototype of the RRF hub:

Example of mining rigs connected to the outlets:

...

Thank you for the images, now I get an idea how the device will work.

The device doesn't restart the Claymore software, it just hard reboots the machine (or whatever PSU's it's connected to). If the OS and/or Claymore are already frozen, a hard reset is the only solution.

How do you recognize if the OS or Claymore is frozen?

I am not sure about tails, but under Ubuntu you can just use
Code:
echo -n "Message" | sha256sum

Don't forget the "-n" otherwise you will hash your message including a newline.

I bet many of you struggle with rig crashes, blackouts and GPU stalls.

...

Yes, many crashes and blues screens until I realized that the GPU was damaged.

What does your device and how does it work? If I understood you correctly, it restarts the server and mining software? I would appreciate to see some photos of the device.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SUMO] SUMOKOIN - 🔏 Digital Cash For Highly-Confidential Transactions 🔏 (MOD) on: June 20, 2018, 04:49:14 AM
Is this the first announcement thread of sumokoin or was another deleted? I am curious because I know the project started quite a while ago. I always liked it, because you could mine it also with old gpus  Grin But according to a few comments, the algo was changed and you can only mine with asics anymore?
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet.dat too big on: June 18, 2018, 05:41:11 AM
@CoderZ
Did you manage to start your wallet with the file? I remembered there was a python tool to analyse and extract private keys from damaged wallet.dat files. I think it was this one https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet. Maybe you want to give it a try.

But like many others already said, 1.5GB doesn't sound like a wallet.dat file, so I am not confident that this will work.
46  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to decide transaction fee? on: June 12, 2018, 08:01:15 AM
There are many sites that show you stats about the current pending transactions and what fee they used, e.g.
https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/

So, you can write your own function to calculate the best fee according to this information or just search for an API that already provides suggestions.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use MEW? on: June 11, 2018, 03:20:43 PM
Yes, with hot and cold wallets.

Just small amounts on the hot wallet and also small amounts on the cold wallets  Grin

I can only recommend to use the 'Send offline' feature from MEW with your cold wallets.

The wallet.dat has 1.5GB or the blockchain data?

If you want a new 'clean' wallet.dat file, you can use this approach.

1. Back up the current %appdata% bitcoin folder
2. Create a new empty bitcoin folder and put your wallet.dat inside
3. Go offline (or even better use an dedicated offline computer for this)
4. Start the qt wallet - it will start faster because it cannot validate your wallet dat
5. Use 'dumpwallet' to export your entire wallet with all private keys (caution: they will be saved unencrypted in a file)
6. Remove the current wallet.dat file from the folder
7. Restart the wallet (a new wallet.dat will be created)
8. Use 'importwallet' to import all the private keys from the file
9. Cleanup. Overwrite the dumped file and remove it

49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to move tokens in etherdelta wallet to MEW? on: June 11, 2018, 11:39:54 AM
I have some coins received from bounties in my Etherdelta wallet. These coins are not listed in etherdelta wallet. So how I move these coins to an exchange or MEW wallet? As the token is not listed on etherdelta we can't see tokens when i go to Transfer tab of Etherdelta exchange.

I don't think you can access the tokens directly from ehterdelta, but you can just export your private key and use it with MEW. The tokens are associated with the address.
50  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much have you earned from bounty ? on: June 11, 2018, 10:49:55 AM
Not really much. My time would have been better invested with my regular job and then investing my earnings into crypto.

But I am pretty sure that you can much, just not with standard bounty jobs.
51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best wallets on: June 09, 2018, 02:39:17 PM
There are already many thread about this. You can probably find your answer when searching for them.

In addition cryptocompare has a useful list of wallets and which coins are supported by them. You can find it here.

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I mine Funfair? on: June 07, 2018, 07:02:06 AM
I have searched a lot in google about mining FunFair but i'm unable to find information about mining FunFair. Is FunFair can be mined? Is it is possible?

No, it is not possible. FunFair is a ERC-20 (Ethereum) token and not a coin.
