41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Telegram groups for miners? on: December 24, 2018, 07:03:55 PM
@cryptochrisw has one of the best mining telegram groups I've been in.  Him and some others also do a weekly mining stream called Miners Oasis on YouTube.

43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My latest adventures with GTX 1080 mining on: December 24, 2018, 02:38:06 PM
So I have stayed with using CryptoDredge for my mining software. Software is very stable and easy to use. Spent a week trying different coins/wallets/pools. I really love the idea of zpool and wanted to make that work for my situation, but I find it just does not give me anyway to break even or get ahead. For coin selection - Bitcoin Diamond was the clear leader when it came to income. For pools I ended up choosing Minerscore (small but reasonable). If my current calculations are accurate I can mine roughly $1.40 of this coin each week. Hopefully the coin will appreciate over time as I expect, so that it is worth the time and effort. I hope this is helpful to someone getting started.

I was never a supporter of mining a coin that might MIGHT  increase value in the future.  the wise approach for mining would be to mine the coin that will give you the most reward in BTC or FIAT and then use the profit to buy the coin you like. doing so, you will get more of the coin rather than directly mining it. unless you want to support the the coin's network which does not make sense to me either  Grin.

Good luck and thanks for sharing the info.

That is right. I mine the most profitable coin and then convert it to Bitcoin Cash.

So either way, you're going to lose all of your money in the end.  Grin

How do I export my history from the 0.13.0.4 Beryllium Bullet gui wallet to a file? Excel, CSV, ect? Even the ability to copy and paste the amount received would be fine. I just don't want to have to manually type every single transaction into my coin tracking software.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine on gtx 1070 rig? on: November 30, 2018, 12:56:52 AM
Hello friends. Now that price of ether has gone down I am considering switching to another coin. I wanted to hear what others are mining with their cuda rigs?
Those of you who kept the farms instead of selling. Is there any other coin worth mining?

Anything that you feel that will have much higher value in the future is fine as long as you don't need to sell today, tomorrow, or possibly even a year from now is worth mining.  Check out the Miners Oasis YouTube channel. Crypto Chris Walken also has a telegram group for miners.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: November 18, 2018, 11:42:04 PM
I'm spec mining these days with about 30 gpu's. Nothing older than a 1070ti. I'm not building new rigs, but I'm still mining. After selling $RVN at 940 sats last month, I'm very very happy.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is it still profitable? How many rigs do the big boys still have... on: November 18, 2018, 12:39:02 AM
I had two rigs with 12 GPU total. 377mh/s. i shut them down like 4 months ago.

Every month i make my calculations, considering the price of the coin, electricity costs, and heat related issues (specially where i live because it's hot here in Spain).

Reality matters the most for me.

1º i DO NOT THINK THIS MARKET WILL RECOVER

2º There will be NO BULL RUN IN DECEMBER.

3º ETH is not doing well, no important projects are making contracts with it, and the amount of money received by smart contracts is not being said, so if the one that has to "pump" the hype among investors, is not doing it, just put yourself in the worst scenario possible.

if i had been mining during the last 4 months, i would have payed something around 340$ only for the machines, every two months, so 680$ of electricty generated by machines,  but generating around 0,70-0.80 ETH a month, i would have lost around 7 $ a month if i sold for cash to pay bills WITH NO GARANTEE THAT HOLDING I WOULD DO BETTER.

So for me, the decision to stop machines WAS A VERY GOOD DECISION. For me, this market is dying and it's obvious.

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have miners capitulated yet? Nobody talking about 2070 rtx hashrate on: November 15, 2018, 09:29:13 PM
Mining capitulation is for people who care about the usd value of any given crypto today. While I'm not building mining rigs, I'm not shutting them down either.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptomining.farm no longer paying on: November 11, 2018, 08:36:22 PM
I upgraded my account on cryptomining.farm so could withdraw my accumulated BTC since 2015. Many of my FB friends said they had already withdrawn from their accounts so I gave it a try and bought 20GHS. I waited for a week for my withdrawal but didn't came. I sent a ticket to their support and said wait for another 2-7 days. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since I withdrew my BTC. Yes their support replies but 2 weeks waiting is not ok. I have fellow friends who till now didn't received their withdrawals too.

This is just a warning for those who wanted to upgrade their accounts. It no longer pays. You can verify your friends if they experience same problem too.
so they paid after  two weeks? they stopped replying so ive given up on getting withdrawals, although im not concerned as ive gotten more out of it than ive put in

We at least you have that. I've always made a point to stay away from cloud mining services as a general rule. Too many scams to sort through.

Switching to a vpn that supports port forwarding seems like a logical solution.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU & CPU Hashrates/Benchmarks for Ravencoin Mining! on: November 01, 2018, 11:33:28 PM
It is an interesting site with useful information. Honestly, I do not really believe in the future of this coin, because it has an emission of 21 billion coins, which is a thousand times larger than that of Bitcoin, and 7.2 million new coins are mined every day. This will quickly devalue this cryptocurrency.

Not sure about the price, but I think it has a future.  And not sure if it has a future for me. On the flip side, I mined it for several months earlier this year and sold it at 940 sats during the recent pump.

Anyone here using the new version of XMR-STAK?
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 12, 2018, 10:06:49 PM
Anyone having issues with the new version of XMR-STAK?  Having hashrate issues.  Old version I'm getting around 11,500 ... New version I'm getting 7500.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tom Lee: Bitcoin Price Starting to Reverse, 2 Catalysts Will Drive it Higher in on: October 12, 2018, 02:00:48 AM
Whilst $6000 seems to be acting as a fairly solid floor I’d really like to see us break through $7500 and stay there. I can’t help but feel pessimistic seeing us go sideways for so long.

Long term I’m uber bullish about bitcoin & I’m not selling a single satoshi for at least 2-3 years until after the next halving but I’d really like to see some upwards price movements soon.

Oh sure.

China only buys like $120 billion from us , so in the long run tarrifs hurt them more.  They will have to come to the table by mid 2019.
First the tariffs hurts US consumers who have no domestically produced alternatives to choose from.
The reduced consumption will hurt US retailers before they hurt Chinese producers.

I's a comical misconception that China will pay the tariffs to the US government Cheesy
See it as a 25% sales tax instead...

Grey importing Chinese goods trough Taiwan, or even Europe?
I work for myself and what I do is a physically demanding job and what I see is the problems is Americans are lazy now people don't even want to get off their ass to grocery shop now plus everyone wants to make $100 a hr and sit on theirs ass to do it with the best benefits and 200 days paid off shit is out of control we don't produce anymore cause no one wants to work thats the problem its not China or Vietnam, I can't even find a 18 yr old kid that want's to do anything besides plant their face into a cell phone or ps4
americans actually work more than other first world countries , more hours etc

He's just old, tired, and out of shape, thinking that this is America in the hardcore industrial revolution days again.  I'm 34 years old.  When I was a teenager, I had plenty of physically demanding jobs that I was paid shit for, but I was also planting my face in the screen of a commodore 64 at age 12.  At age 14/15/16/17 it was the screen of a WIN95, WIN98, LINUX computer.  Or planting my face inside of one looking at the hardware.  By the age of 18, I didn't need a physically demanding job.  There were plenty of information technology jobs that paid well enough.  Some of those jobs were hauling around pc's and crt monitors and setting them up for client's (which was a bit physical), and that was crappy, but it was a start.  Between formal continuing education and self taught education as a teenager, I have been very successful in the information technology industry (planting my face into a screen) over the past 14 years.  There is a huge difference between planting yourself into the screen of angry birds and planting yourself into a screen that contains the knowledge that will help you build a better future.  You don't have to move thousands of pounds of rocks around to be successful.

Everyone shops for grocery's unless they don't eat or only eat out.  Most people don't make 100$/hour or even close to it.  And no one gets 200/365 vacation days per year.  I feel lucky to have 4 weeks of paid time off per year.

Exactly , if you are doing a physically demanding back breaking job that is because you CHOSE that path.  Most of us don't need to do work like that because this is America not some 3rd world country there are wide range of jobs, be it construction, architecture , and tech sector jobs for all comers.

I agree , there is a huge shortage of workers for IT jobs like web design, mobile app design and even SKILLED manufacturing techs who can handle robot operating systems and make sure , Americans are not Lazy , we just work smarter and are general such a well educated work force  becase the country is tech driven so you have to be adaptable.

Check the stats , Americans get two weeks of vacation on average vs a month in other developed countries, way less time off so we actually are a more productive work force overall and we get paid shit for all that extra productivity unless you are management/CEO level.

Thats why we are into crypto since it is an alternative to the top heaving work system we have now.

Web design is pussy shit.  Learn how to secure a fucking network.

Pre-order - Shme-Order ... Doesn't even matter.  The shit doesn't work ... Lots of hacking going on just to get the shit to work.  People bricking 3K FPGA's ... LOL ... Let me know when you have a working product.  I'm not going to waste thousands test netting this shit for you.
