41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DERO: Privacy + Smart Contracts + Lightning Fast Transactions on: February 01, 2018, 03:20:08 AM

Ok guys !! enough of this

It was posted earlier in the forum today ===>

1Kh/s per day [pool calculate]

...
5.DERO  -----> 4.46 DERO/day
...

My Result of testing for 21 hours (cant wait for 24 hours as its going no where)
===
...
XMR - Total Speed: 2611 H/s, Total Shares: 2423, Rejected: 0, Time: 21:07
XMR: GPU0 886 H/s, GPU1 884 H/s, GPU2 841 H/s

Total = 4.4 Dero
Electricity Cost = ~$2.0 - $2.25 = ~400-425W
===

Had issues with wallet sync as well which was replied fast on the forum earlier today.

is it Worth the effort , i doubt it !!!

if want to invest in this project then simply buy it, you will be better off otherwise your LUCK is not greater than "OTHER" miners ! LoL

How much are you calculating for electricity? At 0.10c 24/7 x 425W it would cost you ~$1 a month. Now let's assume dero is .60c(low price), and you get 4(also low) dero a day x 0.60c = $2.40 a DAY x 30 days = $72.

Total cost of electricity for one month $1 (at the rate you mentioned 425W)
Total profit from mining for one month $71

Hmmmmm....I'm no brain surgeon but I would say it's worth to mine dero even with this pessimistic scenario (low price and low yield on mining).

I have one question.

what did you mean in the development fund chart: 20% development fund Zcash?

I think the chart is just to show a comparison between the other coins, and by comparison, we have the smaller premine.

Devs,

Can we work on a new roadmap for 2018?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SUMO] SUMOKOIN - 🔏 Digital Cash For Highly-Confidential Transactions 🔏 on: January 28, 2018, 02:11:37 PM
Hey, can someone please explain what may be the consequence for Sumo regarding this DMCA file?

No consequences at all. It's a formal issue that I assume will be fixed soon.
It just demonstrated toxicity and corporate approach of monero development. It would be no wonder if people run away from such a hostile coin to an alternatives like sumo&co that are true open-source.

This idiotic approach monero demonstrated show its fear. The whole thing could have been discussed via email. Are they afraid of quality forks? Aeon that is a copycat and has one but the only dev is coming from monero, therefore no prob although it's code and copyright is a mess.. Now bytecoin will behave in a same way and block monero? I seriously don't get this..
My 2 cents - open-source was a vehicle for crypto launch but as soon as money came to play people are behaving like asses and are forgetting that code is free and everyone can use it, enhance and share.. Kids, don't take the game so seriously. You can't escape alive Wink

Stop blaming other projects if you did the wrong thing... doesn't matter if things could have been resolved via email, issue or whatever ... THING IS THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE BE AN ISSUE AT ALL... abide the rules and give copyright where its due ...

As you copy&pasted everything else, why didn't you just add a file for Sumocoin and let the old stuff as it was ... you even deleted cryptonote-devs out ... they could blame you too... stop attacking the messenger
I see you stealthily deleted the cryptonote mention

1. Cryptonote copyright was always there check the code again. (# Parts of this file are originally copyright (c) 2012-2013 The Cryptonote developers) - And since it was there all the time sumoshi didnt mention it on his post
2. Well obviously it doesnt matter to you monero devs that these things can be resolved via issue on git or email. Like this poor guy did
when you unintentionaly infringed his code when Monero was still a young coin https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/108
3. A claimant is not a messanger, a claimant is a claimant

Edit: I ve just stealthily deleted the irony Smiley

I checked gitlab too, so i decided to delete the cryptonote message.

2. someone was contacted in your telegram, that guy should have known how to reach out to you. So some sort of contact was done... and like i said elsewhere ... you only had to add your credentials below... README.md was a Copy&Paste Job ... and you ACTIVELY altered that copy&paste thing... you could just have added your copyright below what already was in that README.md . Also defending with another wrong doesn't make ones wrong better... thats kindergarten reasoning.

1. ok about this no hard feelings

2. A random guy who picked up a conversation on Monero's irc indeed alerted by making a post on telegram but like any other coin's telegram channel there is a rate of 1000/hour "when lambo" and "when moon" posts so actual info is hard to be processed there. The actual contributor that filed the report alerted noone neither by opening an issue like its standard practice in open source or at least send an email to the email address mentioned on our repo. Indeed it was just a copy paste job and we would have immediately done it if we were informed properly like we did already. Such things and mistakes happen every day in open source developing and 99.999% of the time are solved amicably via proper dev to dev communication.
I am glad that the core Monero community justifies our frustration and we totaly agree with the suggestion to open official communication channels to avoid such issues in the future.
Despite the things that separate us and the overzealous community's slandering (which is a normal thing) there are more things that connect us. So lets move on

Time to forge our own future now. Why stay in the shadows of Monero? The community has grown to the extent that if desired, we could take a different route going forward.

Devs,

I love SUMO, have been mining since the beginning. I think this is the PERFECT time to start branching out of Monero's wing and going or OWN thing. The community is strong enough that we can start doing things differently instead of just adopting whatever Monero does. This would not only differentiate SUMO but also Monero people would stop calling us copycats.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DERO: Privacy + Smart Contracts + Lightning Fast Transactions on: January 27, 2018, 04:29:15 AM
I feel squeezed out as I'm down to around 2 DERO per day with my Ryzen 5 1600 CPU... Switched over to Intensecoin but will keep tabs on the DERO network hashrate. Good luck to the devs and fellow miners; I'm still holding about 272 DERO in total.

Just curious.  How many coins are you getting with that CPU on Dero vs Intensecoin per day?

I'm doing about 440 H/s on average with this CPU without overclocking but with some tweaking of the xmr-stak cpu.txt file. More specifically, here is the relevant portion from that file in its entirety:

Code:
"cpu_threads_conf" :
[
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 1 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 3 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 4 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 5 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 7 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 9 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 10 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 11 },

],

If you want to maintain usability of the computer for other things then it's very important to not use core 0 / thread 0. Ideally, you want to specify a total number of threads that is 1/2 the L3 cache size in MB; the Ryzen 5 1600 has 16MB of L3 cache so 8 threads are ideal.

Right now (and similar to when I made the post you quoted), that 440 H/s can be used to generate less than 2 DERO per day or around 72 ITNS per day. So while I still believe in DERO, I just don't see mining it as a particularly good use of resources at the moment.

Keep in mind Intense has 999 million coins, dero has 18.4 million. The small supply will help with price increases in the future, as long as the Devs keep up the good work.

Guys am I successfully mining?  Huh

looks like it. post screenshot of miner as well
Wait... I thought aura.exe is the miner  Grin
Anyway here is another screenshot

i dont know what miner are you using. but i wanted to see the miner. I am using claymore ethdcrminer.

but first you have to do

aura account new
aura account list

then copy the account address and replace it in miner with 0x0000000000000000000
then start aura.exe with this command.
aura --rpc --rpccorsdomain localhost 2

then you
use this command to run claymore for solo mining.
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool http://127.0.0.1:8545 -ewal 0x00000000000000000000000000000000000 -mode 1 -eworker rig1

I think he is CPU mining in the console.

Hi dev,

Would it be possible to give monthly updates? Maybe in the form of a blog post? I think this would be great to keep the community updated, and also to get the word out. Medium posts would be great. Also gives us supporters material to post on social channels about what is going on. It's a win-win.

Intensecoin does something similar and I think it's great:

How efficient is DERO mining at home computers? I have no extra budget to buy a professional mining machine, forgive me for ignorance of mining knowledge

You'll pretty much have to download a Cryptonote/Cryptonight miner to find out. My Ryzen 5 1600 is now doing >450 H/s average with XMR-stak in CPU-mining-only mode, but it took a lot of fiddling to get there without undue penalty to the computer's performance elsewhere (out of the box it did closer to 380 H/s). Claymore's CPU miner 3.9 is easier to set up, not quite as fast, but is much more adaptive to changes in load from you actually using the computer (that is, minimal hit to desktop interactivity); I get about 390-410 H/s out of it with the devfee disabled.

My older AMD FX-8300 - the generation prior to Ryzen - does a respectable 300 H/s with Claymore; I haven't fiddled around with XMR-stak on it because it is just a bare motherboard that I mainly use for testing each GPU I acquire.

However, my even older AMD Phenom II x4 955 - two generations back - barely manages 40 H/s and desktop interactivity is slowed to a crawl.

I hear older Intel Xeon servers (in 19" rack mount cases) do pretty well at Cryptonight mining; I might pick up a few to find out as GPUs are insanely expensive right now.

Cryptonote in general does well with 2MB of cache per 1 core for mining. So if your CPU has 4MB cache the best setup with be 2 Threads for mining. Xeon's do well because they have a lot of cache.

DERO 44 days update:

Please to announce Status update release 1 of DERO Blockchain :
https://github.com/deroproject/derosuite

As per https://github.com/deroproject/derosuite/blob/master/README.md

In the status update release 1, Following parts of cryptonote has been rewritten in golang.

At present, Golang DERO daemon can sync and verify blockchain with the existing DERO network.

For specific details of current DERO core implementation and capabilities, see below:

    Cryptonight Hash: This is an ASIC resistant, memory-bound algorithm. This provides assurance that all miners are equal. ( No miner has any advantage over common miners).
    Wire protocol (90% completed): This protocol is used to exchange data between 2 DERO daemon nodes. At this point, Go daemon can connect to C daemon and vice-versa, sync blockchain and exchange, already possible. Complete interoperability has been achieved. This has 3 sub protocols:
   Levin Protocol: Bottom most layer, basically message framing.
   P2P Protocol: Handshake exchange, P2P commands and timed synchronization.
   CryptoNote Protocol: This layers controls exchange of blocks, transactions and blockchain itself.
    Pederson Commitment: (Part of ring confidential transactions): Pederson commitment algorithm is a cryptographic primitive that allows user to commit to a chosen value while keeping it hidden to others. Pederson commitment is used to hide all amounts without revealing the actual amount. It is a homomorphic commitment scheme.
    Borromean Signature: (Part of ring confidential transactions): Borromean Signatures are used to prove that the commitment has a specific value, without revealing the value itself.
    Additive Homomorphic Encryption: Additive Homomorphic Encryption is used to prove that sum of encrypted Input transaction amounts is EQUAL to sum of encrypted output amounts. This is based on Homomorphic Pederson commitment scheme.
    Multilayered Linkable Spontaneous Anonymous Group (MLSAG) Work-in-Progress: (Part of ring confidential transactions): MLSAG gives DERO untraceability and increases privacy and fungibility. MLSAG is a user controlled parameter ( Mixin) which the user can change to improve his privacy. Mixin of minimal amount is enforced and user cannot disable it.
   Core-Consensus Protocol implemented: Consensus protocol serves 2 major purpose
          Protects the system from adversaries and protects it from forking and tampering.
          Next block in the chain is the one and only correct version of truth ( balances)
   Proof-of-Work(PoW) algorithm: PoW part of core consensus protocol which is used to cryptographically prove that X amount of work has been done to successfully find a        block. To deter use of specialized hardware, an ASIC resistant, memory bound cryptonight algorithm is used in DERO project.
    Difficulty algorithm: Difficulty algorithm controls the system so as blocks are found roughly at the same speed, irrespective of the number and amount of mining power deployed.
    Serialization/De-serialization of blocks: Capability to encode/decode/process blocks .
    Serialization/De-serialization of transactions: Capability to encode/decode/process transactions.
    Socks proxy: Socks proxy has been implemented and integrated within the daemon to decrease user identifiability and improve user anonymity.
    Interactive daemon can print blocks, txs, even entire blockchain from within the daemon
    status, diff, print_bc, print_block, print_tx and several other commands implemented
    GO DERO Daemon has both mainnet, testnet support.
    Tree-hash for transactions (based on keccak): This merkle root allows user to verify transactions as needed without adding transaction body to block header.
    BOLT Database: DERO Blockchain uses BoltDB for future scalability and low latency reads.
    Enhanced Reliability, Privacy, Security, Useability, Portabilty assured. For discussion on each point how pls visit forum.

The daemon is only for limited testing and evaluation purposes only.

NOTE: DO NOT MIGRATE to this daemon. This is strictly for evaluation.

Pls download precompiled binaries for Windows, Solaris, Mac, BSDs, arm etc. from:  https://github.com/deroproject/derosuite

Thank you.

Awesome!!!! Keep up the good work Dev Smiley

WARNING TO ALL WHO ARE USING OR ARE GOING TO USE STOCKS.EXCHANGE -- DO NOT USE IT YOU WILL BE SCAMMED --

So the CEO from Stocks.Exchange which is having alot of issues (scam) with people depositing and withdrawing coins and alot of glitchy API entries on their exchange has promoted this scam VESA ICO through his own Stocks.exchange platform by sending out an email to invest in this shit.

If we go look at the CEO from Stocks.Ex his old twitter profile we can look at a certain post: https://twitter.com/vkurylovych/status/20733090372 the one and only reply on there already refers to a scam pulled with a platform called livirtual.com

The two tweets that are also still visible on his twitter profile just underneath the one i just linked contain the following messages:

Vadym Kurylovych

@vkurylovych
 18 apr. 2010
If you wanna be rich you got to be a bitch Smiley

and

Vadym Kurylovych

@vkurylovych
 21 mar. 2010
Never feel sorry for people

Now here comes the interesting stuff. The same guy who is CEO of Stocks.Ex and a Dev or whatever he calls himself from Paragoncoin which is also an ICO which hasn't delivered what it has promised AND can also be traded on the very same exchange the CEO DEV SCAMMER whatever you want to call it hosts.

If we go take a look at the current twitter page of Stocks.Exchange https://twitter.com/StocksExchangeR and we click open any recent tweet, and with recent we can go back at least 2 weeks from the day this post was created, you will see announcements of certain things going wrong, and being fixed (while they aren't fixed). We see people complaining about stuck funds for over 10 days while the blockchain explorers show those coins already confirmed hundreds if not thousands of times and even being redistributed to other wallets, we can start to scratch our head again can't we?

If we go look back into their tweets and check this one out: https://twitter.com/StocksExchangeR/status/951796262910783488 we can even see Stocks.Exchange blaming Coinsmarkets for creating issues with Stocks.exchange this is by far the lamest excuse I have seen in 2018 and should ring another warning bell.
So the person or persons behind all this are either scammers or complete idiots who have no idea how to work with computers. I doubt it's the second one. If we go check the SE CEO lead Scammer's profile on Linkedin we can see calls himself a "jack of all trades" https://www.linkedin.com/in/vadym-kurylovych/ while he's actually a trader of all jacks.

What else can be said about Stocks.Exchange? Well there will be liquidity issues if there aren't already. I myself can confirm that the exchange has had multiple reports of double deposits or withdraws. Now for those who are on the receiving end of those double deposits and withdraws it's their lucky day. But in the end someone will pay for this and imo the exchange won't be touching their own funds to keep it solvent. The most flagrant mistake made by SE that has come to my ears is someone who tried to withdraw 2 BTC and received that amount 3 times. Now you can say they were playing Santa Claus and they are good guys, but in the big perspective of things this should not happen and it might be the first signs of things going down hill pretty fast for this exchange and everything tied to it.

On to other side there are hundreds if not thousands of users who are having issues not receiving their coins for a period of over 10 days without a reply to their support tickets, emails or even on the Stocks Twitter profile when a tweet is replied to by angry customers nobody answers them with a satisfying answer, there isn't even an answer at all from SE. Just tweet after tweet that they are fixing the issues and when they claim something is fixed, we can see that it's broken again 5 minutes later meaning it wasn't fixed at all.

Any other exchange would have been called out for scam a long time ago, but somehow they manage to keep fooling people and sucking in more users who they ar stealing money from. Imagine you had made a trade on SE right after New Year, you made some good profit and are now ready to cash that out. Oops withdraw issue, ongoing for 2 weeks, meantime the market dipped and people are unable to sell their profits and are now even losing money because the guys behind this ICO and other scam ICO's are running a dodgy Exchange that will end up insolvent and running off with people's money.

So for the people who were ready to invest in this next Scam from the same guys, please check the facts I present to you and think twice. Also those who are thinking about depositing funds to Stocks.Exchange, my advise to you is to look elsewhere. Is your coin of interest only listed on that exchange, make sure the Dev team from your favourite coin get's to read this post, let them research it and make a move out of there once they are convinced that what I tell you here is the truth.

Your sincerely H055Y

PS: Vadym Kurylovych you better don't show your face in public, because alot of angry traders would like to rip your face off.

All paranoia aside, almost every exchange is having issues. They are not prepared for the influx of new users. I have been using stocks.exchange for a few months now with no issues, but lately, it has gotten really slow.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DERO: A secure, private blockchain with Smart Contracts. on: January 18, 2018, 02:28:56 AM
At this price level of 0.000025 mining is not so profitable  Undecided
Waiting for price recover...

With young but promising projects like this, you're mining for what they will be worth rather than what they're worth now. The price is currently (arguably) depressed anyway as deposits had been all but impossible until recently. Now you're seeing a lot of pent up dumping from the terminally shortsighted <shrugs>.

Mining XMR wasn't terribly profitable a couple of years ago when it was $0.50 or so. How many mine and dump operations wish they still had now what they dumped back then I wonder?

Mining to chase profits is what nicehash does. I love mining the ones no one knows about but have potential. When I started SUMO it was 0.30c, it shot up to $10 for a short while. Mining 3-4 SUMO a day at 0.30c was not the most profitable at the time...don't chase the money, chase the project. It pays off in the long term.
