I would warn you guys against mining this one -- I can compile a SHA3 miner in about 20-40 min on windows and mine this.

All you have to do is fork yacminer (which has GPU code for SHA3-512 already), change a few lines of code so that it's SHA3-256, remove the scrypt code and whammo, GPU miner.

I think this might be an out-the-door scam as they can easily compile a GPU miner too and aren't prereleasing the source code for the testnet beforehand.

will you be releasing the recompiled version to the wild even if they don't?  Wink

Any pools ready to go?

Temperature on other planets goes up and down too yet there is no Fossil Fuel Burning going on, no SUV's. Explain THAT one. (Hint: It's the Sun)

As far as Algore being a BitCoin fan that doesn't negate all his previous Snake Oil Sales.  I'm sure he's a real nice guy in person and he got all choked up when he watched "The Notebook".

Doesn't matter, he's STILL a scam artist.

Yeah man doesn't impact climate at all. It's all happening naturally and man can't impact shit at all.

Tell that to people using gas masks in Shanghai where they can't breath due to too much smog. Did you know they have warning signs in Shanghai when all car traffic has to stop because air is way too polluted? http://static4.businessinsider.com/image/52a0035b6bb3f7972cdb2394/the-smog-in-shanghai-right-now-seriously-looks-like-its-the-end-of-the-world.jpg http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/01/15/us-china-pollution-idUSBREA0E0RD20140115

Don't be a fucking tool man. Propaganda cuts both ways you know. Just because one party is right doesn't mean other party is wrong and vice versa.

all i can say guys is who really knows? we are all exposed to propaganda from every angle. Im not coming down on either side but the question remains: can we afford to be wrong? say  our effect on climate turned out to be marginal would it still not have been better to clean up our act than take a chance? if there is a so called tipping point where things become irreversible- where are we then?

What are you on about? There is a HUGE difference between creating pollution and CHANGING THE CLIMATE. ughhh

Its been a total fail from the start. All hype and nothing to show for it.

The coin was announced on TV, but there was no wallet and is still no wallet. By Bitcointalk standards of alt coin release this has been a complete amateurish shambles. I have seen worse, but seen way better and much more professional releases.

LOL!! Taxi for one.

This is just the start.. the hype train is just getting up to speed. All aboard. Grin

Just shows all you need is hype and newbs clamour over it like it's a new goldrush. It's just gonna be another crapcoin with Keiser's name on it.

even so in all likelihood it will gain the market cap he is predicting..

over 50m  Wink
What's he predicting?

Colin seems to be a troll, he has hated this coin everywhere possible.  I saw him lurking the fb page earlier, commenting bull on every comment.
Just to let your tiny mind realize, he only mined the genesis block.  That is not a launch.  A launch is when it is released for mining to the public.  You see anyone mining?  No?  Yeah, shut up you wanker.
So they have has all this time since mining the genesis block to..... pre mine? do nothing? who knows, but I don't see anything that looks like a wallet to compile. I am all for new coins, even SHA3 coins, but there was lots of hype and then silence.

This was a fake launch for the show...

plus its pre-recorded

Guys your coin is gonna be rapped by botnets...

would gpu mining be fairer?

They want a coin they everyone can get involved in.  CPU limited with no gpu's and no asic's mean everyone with a computer can mine.

Problem with most coins at moment is people with big piles of cash buy huge gnu mining farms or loads of expensive asic's  New comers cannot get involved unless they re mortgage their houses.

At least this way means anyone can start off and get involved in mining.

yes but what effect will cloudmining and botnets have on the difficulty for the regular cpu miner?

There is that but at the end of the day what do you do?  Let the botnet gimp or the Rich gimp with 200 gpu farm win?

I had 15 MH/s rented today specifically for this Smiley oh well

Unthinkingly I lodged more btc to DGEX without reading up on their new fees. Feeling pretty stupid considering BTER has zero. I have vague memories of the ructions in the thread surrounding the fees which now seem justified. They are exorbitant-1.4% to withdraw btc! How does anyone continue to trade there?
