@MiCoSa, the reason I have an ax to grind here is because of the blatant lies spread by Justin trying to discredit XSH. For me, this is about principle. Do I want Verge to fail? No. But I do not want to reward Justin and the XVG team for being dishonest. There's now another perspective that is kind of deep: If XVG devs ~really~ did pull the code for the fix that they allege XSH copied, then they LET the second hack occur. Either way, the dishonesty discredits XVG and worse, it taints all cryptos because people new to the crypto ideas and community will see fraudulent activities by coin devs, creating distrust for all cryptos.

A few days ago i told a friend, they defenitley need to get some more devs to their team, and they should take away Justin from publicity. He is not the guy, that should give interviews or what ever. They ever had a good marketing team, and they should do that. And yes, Justin should start learning now, that he does not help anyone, neither Verge nor Crypto or himself, if he obviously lies about the things ho does. And if i remember right, i read somewhere these days, that a verge team member said, he took the code from XSH. And yes, it would have been better Justin would have just said, i took it from them. How did you proof anything? This dev and his team has created a coin with a marketcap of about 600,000,000.00$. I am quite sure he should take some help at some point. But you dont do that with only copy and paste. And as already mentioned, it is so ridiculous, that the XSH-guys complain about copying, after they copied the complete verge project... Did he take that part of code from XVG? Yes he did. Whats the problem? Why reinvent the wheel? It is all open source, anyone copies from anyone, and if some idiots would not be so bullheaded, they would better work together, as fight against each other.
XSH forked XVG code to start it's own and XSH developers never hide it or call it's XSH code. Also XSH developers many times thanked XVG developers for this (I really don't know for what they thanked, cause there is no original work in this code, just copy-paste from DigiByte, Bytecoin etc). But verge developer copied XSH code and said that it's his work, that's why I say that XVG is a crap. Your blindness is on the verge (lol) of stupidity. I really can imagine you guy. Never made something in your life, maybe living at mom's home with 40+, but the whole day spread FUD, hate and nonsense about other people, likely because you are jealous.

Modestly I think that the tokens destined to pornhub would have been better used dedicating them to the security and improvement of XVG  This is definitely right! Btw thank you very much for a constructive post. There are not very much in this thread. |

It initially claimed to be a privacy coin just because it had an Electrum wallet that connected through Tor by default, later on stealth addresses were pasted in but on their own they're not a perfect privacy solution. It's been "hacked/exploited" twice over the last month, with Devs copy pasting shitty solutions and deleting posts/banning people whenever there is a critical or concerned question from a user. There is absolutely no fucking reason to invest in Verge. I even read today, that Pornhub (Verge's "big" partnership) is looking at some other coin to partner with instead. You are absolutely right. The behaviour of the verge team was wrong and ignorant regarding that exploit. But is this enough to destroy the work of several years regarding a coin, that has a lot of real use cases. Look out there at this 1500 coins. 1350 of them you can use to buy them on an exchange and sell them later again. Thats it. I did not check it, so sorry if i am wrong, but i am quite sure BTX is one of these coins... So what do you call this coins. Dont understand me wrong. A lot of this coins are quite young and they will maybe develop to some real good coins. But Verge has established real use cases. Only because some guys had ridiculous expectations regarding the partnership (i remember amazon, ebay and paypal for example) and did not get millionaires over night, they now run around and use each possibility to drag Verge in the mud. regarding pornhub, it was mentioned from the beginning, that they will add additional coins in the future. It is in the code from day 1, that the last "halving" will go from 1560 to 730, what obviously is no "halving", but it is the number of coins per block needed to reach the max supply, that is also in the code from day 1. Now these haters take this thing trying to make a fool of the verge dev, not even recognizing that they only make a fool of theirself. I am silently reading all your discussions but i am very upset because almost 80% of my investment in XVG and these days are very hard for me. Already lost around 65% of my investment. I am waiting to reach it to 0.1$ price.
As with all altcoins right now, you have to wait until Bitcoin gets up again, cause Altcoins most time go up and down with Bitcoin. These days are hard for any crypto... |

I didnt say, price will double because of the halving. It will not, as i already mentioned some pages before. Meanwhile there is a new mining balance and you earn about the same amount of verge like before the halving, as hashrate has spreaded new.

My post was related to the halving and the price of verge, and why you believe the max. supply has nothing to do with the price, so it be. I know that the price and the formula for it has to do with max. supply. You are free to believe that a 15 billion max. supply coin get have a USD 100 price, or that a 1B coin get to 1.000 USD, but it just won't happen exactly due the max. supply. Whatever, most of us live in a democratic country and can believe in whatever they won't .... You still dont get it. Of course has the max supply something to do with the price of a coin. Please read my post above and there the point about max supply of Bitcoin: You could take bitcoins today, increase max supply from 21,000,000 to 21,000,000,000. What would happen? Each Bitcoin-holder would have 1000 times more bitcoins in his wallet and the price would be divided by 1000 and the amount of mined Bitcoins per block would increase to 12,500. Thats it. Calculated in any fiat, nothing would happen.
But the max supply has nothing do with the things happening to the price of a coin before, while or after a halving! That is the only thing i try to explain to you. Thats why this: You have no idea how that halving works out for mining. I made a detailed post some 10 or 20 pages earlier, seems you missed it. If you think that halving the mining reward of a 16B max supply is doubling its price you are totally ultra mega wrong. The impact is about 0.1% on price, at most with such max. supply and daily volume.

So again, what i try to tell you is, that your calculation, that the halving does not matter the price at all is correct. No first off it was Bitcoin and then Pivx and then Verge and then shield or pretty close to that. Either way Verge is nothing but a fork of another coin that was originally a shitcoin named DogecoinDark. Forking Code bases is how you build on and expand existing projects into other projects. For instance lets say I wanted to make Monero with Masternodes then I would fork the Monero code base which was originally the Bitmonero base which in turn was the Bytecoin base and then I would add the code for Masternodes which I think is in the Darkcoin base. Understand? Now don't get this confused with Hard Forking the chain as that is a separate deal altogether. I know what forking is... in the end you agreed with what i said. Forking is copying the codebase of an existing project to make an own new project... |
