Do we have an IRC channel? If we're starting a community focused campaign that's my first suggestion. I think a Plankton t-shirt would be awesome too, I love the little guy in our logo

Rough seas right now! We shall endure!

Joining the party a bit late, but I'm on board now! Attempting to hoard many Plankton as I can! Wish there were some Plankton themed games like dice or satoshi buttons.

Any status updates on the Rosewill RHB-500/ST-Lab U-500? They still running good? I think I'm gunna order one and wanted to see how they well they are fairing.
Still running strong with 48 BE's on 6 hubs.

Abusing your irc powers when I make a valid point. You're exactly who I want running this site

If they were somewhat cheaper, say $100, then it wouldn't be that bad of a choice.
6x Block Erupters - $270 ($45 each at current ebay price) 1x 6 Port Powered Hub - ~$25 for a D-Link DUB-H7 Case w/ fan - $15 perhaps? Guesstimate based on raspberry pi case scaled up with fan added.
So around $310 for an all in one ready to go solution, and that's at cost without shipping or labor.
I think $325 would be reasonable for these, and there would still be profit on their end if they're ordering the erupters in bulk and printing the cases themselves.

Try booting without the card and sweeping the drivers if you haven't already, I've had a similar experience when flashing in the past.

No cooling? You are a brave man. It's my experience as well that Rosewill/SL-Lab hub smoothly handles 8 devices.
Hasn't arrived yet, I've been somewhat on edge but the fans come today. I'll be running two of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106140 and I already have a few Arctic usb fans on the powerstrips.

Currently running 48 erupters on 6 Rosewill RHB-500 with one for daisy chaining to a Raspberry Pi. Smooth so far, and as to the amount of devices a raspberry pi can support it seems like it's a hardware limitation. I plugged in a Jalapeno and it didn't like it too much, it ran for a while then started crashing a few hours later constantly, resulting in a pi reboot to get everything back up.

Raspberry PI resources ...Additionally, there seems to be a limit of 49 BEs that one Pi can control at once.
Any idea what this limit is caused by? If possible I'd like to have one unit controlling everything and if the limit is due to processing power I could opt for a cubieboard 2 or another open aio. I've noticed my utility rate is significantly higher when I run my BEs off one of my WIN7 rigs that is mining LTC at the moment.. I think the RPi is a cool piece of gear, but no matter what I tweak on it, doesn't seem to be "even" or better than my W7 setup. (45 BEs at the moment awaiting a couple more hubs) The thing to remember with the Pi is the low power consumption. If mutiple Pi's use less power than one PC, that may be the way to go. Oh, concur.. and will perhaps look into it further in the future... but at this time I can piggy back off an already up and running LTC rig and draw no additional power since the hubs are powered.. Not only that, but the space requirements are far less. For someone who isn't mining LTC these tiny all in one boards are the way to go. If I find anything out about the limits I'll definitely post it here, I may pickup a cubieboard2 and test it. Also I wasn't referring to it being any better than a desktop. I was referring to how weak the soc of the pi is, wondering if that is the cause of the limit.

Never heard of the company before, apparently they were kickstarted for some other specialized hardware in the past. I can't imagine they aren't legit, they're certainly overpriced for what they are.

How about some sort of gambling site or game? It'll give some people motivation to mine/buy more coin after they lose/win big and something to do when they have excess coinage around. My personal favorites are https://just-dice.com/ and https://bitzino.com/GLD Address: EDPib2UkFpGVepkE7egaPuvp51xrJ1VrLw
