BATTLE OF THE MENTAL GIANTS
42  Economy / Securities / Re: Feeler for investment to bid on coolio music collection on: September 13, 2013, 02:03:06 PM
Well that's annoying.

**This item has been sold through our “Buy It Now” option**

I logged in to bid and that's what I saw.  There was no word of a buy it now option, it must have popped up right when the auction started.  I wonder what the price was?  We might have had a shot.

Well that's unfortunate, but keep your eye out for other similar opportunities. You definitely have the communities interest!

NEOBEE Offering Schedule

The XBOND Pre-IPVO Offering will open next week on Tuesday, September 17th at 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC and end upon the start of the IPVO.

The official IPVO will begin next week on Friday, September 20th at 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC.

Please do not send XBONDs for share exchange redemption before September 17th at 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC, or they will be sent back to you. Any bonds sent after the deadline, or after the XBOND offering is sold out, will be sent back as well. Please make sure to follow all instructions, including giving the account name of your BitFunder account via email. First come, first served. Please review the prospectus for additional details.

Next week's IPVO on Friday will go live on all 3 exchanges (BitFunder, Havelock, BTCT) at pretty much the same time.

Since it will be listed on the 3 exchanges, can we opt to have the shares on Havelock or BTCT instead?  I am an XBOND holder and would prefer to keep my NEOBEE shares on Havelock.

TAT said they will offer share transfering services for a fee of 1 BTC

Since when can a company CEO not buy shares in their own company?  I think you better read up on insider trading before you look any more uninformed.

"Insider trading is the trading of a public company's stock or other securities (such as bonds or stock options) by individuals with access to non-public information about the company"

The thing is, this is the wild wild west of stock trading with no regulation, so it isn't *technically* illegal. However it would be considered criminal behavior if this were on a regulated exchange.

As soon as they announce the date for the IPO:

Just FYI if you aren't happy with a company in a free market, what's happening right now with the price is exactly how you show it. You can bitch and moan all you want but a company won't care unless they are losing money. I bet they'll respond pretty quick if it keeps falling like this.

48  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] CasinoBitco.in (CBTC) IPO Official Thread on: September 11, 2013, 05:19:30 PM
This site has made ~$10,000 from 3-4 months of running. This is very little. Based on the ACTUAL profits, a valuation of 250,000$ would be reasonable. IMO all you investing in this right now are idiots. Jesus christ. I've never had an issue with IPOs but these valuations are insane.

And this is why I usually bet big on IPOs like this. People value them vastly higher than they should be, regardless of the information presented to them. It's to the point where not only have I just about tripled (and cashed out) my original investment, but now I've got free shares sitting waiting to earn money. Thanks guys!

This happens with just about any hyped up offering out there. It's seems I don't have to do nearly as much due diligence as I used to...all I have to do is browse through the thread, look for the groups of newbie accounts going "watching!", "Great idea!", "I'll invest", etc, buy up shares during the offering, and then offer them back at insane prices...prices which are reached days to a week later.

Nothing against CasinoBitco of course, since this isn't their doing. I'm actually rooting for them, and I like my casino investments Wink

Korbman SHUT UP... Don't ruin this for the rest of us who take the same advantage you do but don't have to brag about it.

Since Havelock has Ok'd an offering on their exchange as well, this means you will be offering services to transfer shares from BF to Havelock, correct?

Also,

There is no minimum quantity for transfers, but any transfer order must pay a 1.0 Bitcoin service fee.

That seems like an awfully steep price for a pretty simple service.

It's funny the manner in which you see us:
It's stupid to buy at such a premium... except if you can use it to buy something cheaper anyway, which is the case NOW.
Let's say you buy XBOND at 0.011 instead of 0.01, you still get NEOBEE shares for less than 0.003. That's the point I was making.

But even the guy who bought at 0.0119 isn't going to profit much from this, that's why I said 0.0012 is the limit. Doing the math because people might not even bother.

Well, not only do you get a cheaper rate. You pretty much also have a guaranteed spot in the IPO. The public part of the IPO might sell out pretty quickly so that is a risk you are avoiding.

TAT or Cyprus correct me if I'm wrong, but you stated that people who get the .0025 price by purchasing through XBOND will not receive those shares until 3 days *after* the IPO, correct?

AND who knows what he has done as far as providing options trading to the community. That may be a significant source of growth for the fund.

Who wants to start guessing what the report next week will say? How much profit/loss for the first month?

I am going to make a wild guess and say the report will show a profit of 5% Grin

It's more fun to guess what the share price will do in response to the report. BTC-investors tend to react very strongly to news, rumours and random fear-mongering. I expect that whatever the monthly report says, there will be a strongly amplified initial reaction visible in the share price (at least initially, it may settle at a value that better reflects the performance of the fund after a while).

Right. If my guess is correct that the report says profit is 5%, the price will rise over 50% (or 500%), and then slowly settle downwards toward the IPO price. And anybody who bought at the height will loudly complain about how this fund is losing them money.

Doubt it.  Unless I misunderstand his intentions totally, shortly after publishing reports he'll place Asks slightly above NAV/U and Bids slightly below it.  Even if he doesn't place orders he'll be filling orders.  So market price will be kept stable for a period after the report.

Funds which can issue (effectively) unlimited paper should never be trading far from NAV/U.

The only interesting movement is likely to be BEFORE the report if people strongly believe he will have made or lost anything significant.  But I  think most who bought this realise it's designed for investment not speculation (i.e. the price tied hard to NAV/U) so will just and wait and see.

5% (your guess) would be pretty impressive given that the month started with zero actually invested.  Getting significant(ish) BTC invested at all (without moving prices) takes a while to do.  Though I guess he could have made a few % just by dumping it into J-D and pulling from there gradually to move into actual intended investments.

When you use the notation "U", is that number of shares?

Yes, it stand for "unit", so NAV/U is Net Asset Value per Unit.

Ok thanks

Whoops,
I think the IPO just crashed the Havelock Investment IPO page Sad

When can we expect trading to go live?

Since that IPO just sold out in 5 seconds

There is around $240,000 worth of shares outstanding, yes, but the btct page includes some intention to issue 1000000 shares, unless he inputted that number with no purpose.

Regardless of the number, where did he "answer the majority of those questions in the prospectus and in this thread already"?
I've read through the thread and prospectus and do not see any information of the type I specified. Would be happy if you could point it out Smiley

Are you sure you've read through it? Cause he specifies that he was doing the IPO in tranches of 20,000. He felt that the first 20,000 shares was sufficient and he's leaving it at that. The 1,000,000 shares is just placed there, it doesn't mean anything.

He isn't going to tell you "attractive" investments, he is keeping his investment strategy private he isn't going to give you "hot" tips for your personal investment.

He isn't messing with mining (you used the term "options", I'm not sure if you mean actual options trading or just choices of mining stocks) either way, he isn't investing in mining companies.

He also discussed investing in non-BTC investments but would focus the majority of his investments in BTC, since that's the point of the fund.

Wait. This isn't a joke?

I was under the impression it was a satire type thing, I still can't really tell if he's being serious
57  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] BTC Growth: Capital Growth via Hedge Fund-Style Investing on: September 07, 2013, 04:00:39 PM
Can we have some indication regarding your inclination to current investment options? How do you feel about the current mining options? How do you feel about alt currencies and similar (payment systems, etc.)? What are some current attractive investments? Do you have some basic understanding of how the Bitcoin protocol even works?
Seems bizarre to issue more than 1m USD worth of shares, without having any history in Bitcoin or giving any indication about how you intend to invest. I may have missed a post where you explain this, but I couldn't find any of this kind of information in the listing documents.

He answered the majority of those questions in the prospectus and in this thread already. He didn't issue more than $1m USD worth of shares... it's around $200,000 worth. Not really sure where you got that number from. Do your own due diligence no one is going to do it for you.
