Wasn't last year altcoins' year as well? The point is, as long as the demand outweighs the current supply, price will always go up.

I actually invest everything in Bitcoin, but now I'm thinking about buying some Eth and Ripple to diversify my portfolio.
Why not get in Bitcoin, Eth, Ripple, and all other solid coins? They have the best opportunity, plus you will be less worried should their prices come down a bit further.

Don't predict price, trade with a set plan in mind and always stick to it especially if things don't go your way. Don't be afraid to cut your losses if you are wrong and try again. We can only anticipate, not predict.

Aside from the charts or trading aspect, I elieve that this year will be critical for Bitcoin as a payment system. I just hope that the lightning network will go live sometime this year to help fix the issues we are all experiencing with Bitcoin.

Since it looks like you've just started out here in crypto, it would be best to invest in big caps or the top 10 coins and learn how they work/behave..

Since BTC price is not manipulated and is decentralized, it is dependent on direct supply and demand.

I've noticed that ETH has been experiencing similar issues that concern be with Bitcoin. If its transaction fee will continue to get higher and higher, I'd bet a lot of lower coins will soon take its place considering that it's not even as popular as Bitcoin.

No matter who enslaved who in previous generations, we can't let their grand sons and grand daughters pay for what their ancestors did. Why don't we focus more on moving forward rather than bringing back the ugly past?

I agree that long term is always the best way especially if you are holding on to trusted coins with high potential of giving you gains such as BTC, ETH, etc... Short term trades on the other hand apply to volatile coins with small or mid market caps.

Try to minimize your holdings in one coin and spread them out in like 2-3 others. This will really help minimize risk.

I like Burst and ETH and I truly believe that either or both of them will have a good run this year. Both have not yet increased in price like most other coins back in 2017.

I've been victimized by a Ponzi scheme disguised as the most trusted revenue sharing website. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) It made me think twice about the word most trusted next time I try to find another earning opportunity.

I agree about cashing out during parabolic moves or short-term spikes. However, try to cash out gradually or in waves to make sure you ride at least most of the upmove.

A perfect life doesn't need to be one with lots of money and fun. It can still be one with a family, nagging wife, baby who keeps you awake at night. At the end of the day, perfect means you are happy and contented.

I am sure ETH will go up steadily but surely. Some alt coins might even catch up, but they won't be as stable.
Some altcoins will probably make it and become big in the future, but that will definitely be a minority, likely 90% of alts will fail to zero in the coming years.
True. only a handful of alt coins are worthy of your mid to long term investment. These trustworthy alt coins will take us a long way I'm sure of it.

The way XRP has out-performed other alt coins so far is eye-catching and I'm sure it will gain more interest in the coming months.

I think Ripple will definitely have a shot at getting past ETH, but not entirely sure against Bitcoin yet.
No matter the negative comments towards XRP, I would still definitely invest in it as I have done my own research and will definitely observe proper risk management.
