41  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC , combo.Open sale now. on: February 16, 2014, 12:45:16 PM
Anyone mind sharing their experiences regarding customs ?
I mean all those labels like CE,FCC and stuff..

You could have it easier.
http://thenodepole.com/2014/02/06/knc-miner-to-build-10-mw-datacenter-in-the-node-pole/

10MW = 10.000.000W => 1W per GH/s => 10.000.000 GH/s = 10.000 TH/s = 10 PH/s

3TH/s*3Batches*1200units=10.800 TH/s = 10.8 PH/s.
Those 800TH/s (~260 Neptunes) are whether canceled or they have somewhere else (current location?) ~125*4 boards (28nm) available.

Enough to cover all 3 batches I'd say.
And that's maybe the reason why the hosting is limited to 3TH/s even with the announcement they made 11% improvement on the chip-design.

*edit:
Can remember that there was some info about another 2 locations they will build as soon as this one has been finished.

Next wave of hw hitting the scene in ~10 weeks ?

KnC is getting more and more pressure I'd say.
3TH/s(+11% improvement) for >$10-13k is  becoming more and more a bad deal

ASICMiner gen 3 hardware pre-sales may be starting:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg5153058#msg5153058

~$1800/TH, 600 watts/TH, due by Apr 20th.

Their whole attitude became contempful and greedy. They seemed to hate their customers.  disrespectful to completely ignore your customers after that kind of bombshell??

didn't people make  80-100 coins on October Jupiters? I have no idea what are your facts.
(...)
80 coins or even more?

For sure not with a Jupiter (4 boards and no overclocking) - except maybe with selling their miners at the peak and buying btc with that money afterwards when it crashed.

At least as day2 order and running overclocked (at >700GH/s since December) I did not reach this number and if you consider electricity costs you aren't getting closer.

Called customer support this afternoon and told them that Plan B sounds nice in general, but the question is "when is Neptune considered to be late?".

All I got as answer was actually a lot of words saying nothing.
First I was told they are on track, plan A is the one they focus on and that Neptune is scheduled for delivery in Q1/Q2 and Q2 (depending on the batch) as well as that everything is on track therefore there are no details available regarding plan B.

So I expressed my self more clearly that Q1/Q2 or Q2 would mean Q3, on July 1st, Neptune will be considered late?
Answer was that there's currently no decision regarding "when Neptune will be considered late", since they are still on track with plan A. And as soon as there would be a decision, it will be announced publicly on their website.
47  Local / Biete / Re: KnCMiner Neptune (>3TH/s) | mit bis zu 9% mehr GH/s vorbestellen | 1/10 on: February 14, 2014, 05:30:55 PM
All,

As we are getting closer to the launch date of Neptune. We are able to release more of the products as we are still on track. So today there are now 1000 more products in the shop. This is the second half batch two and will ship alongside the first half.

This batch will also be covered by our online hashing (Plan B), if we are late we will simply give you a choice of converting to our online hosted hashing of 3TH from our facilities if you wish to

Thanks

KnCMiner Team

Es gibt seit heute also wieder 1.000 Neptunes (Batch2) zu kaufen.
Mein Angebot mit bis zu 9% mehr Rechenleistung (bei einer Bestellung über meine Reseller-ID) gilt noch immer  Wink

Wow, that many have canceled - close to one third..

Anyone knows about the exact date when Neptunes (batch1,2,3) are considered late?

Buying BTC if you have USDs instead of buying BTC miners now.
At least buy them with the opportunity for some extra-hashrate on top of it if you want hashing power Wink

 Shocked
FUCK ?!

Whether they have an 0day exploit for btc-e and mtgox which I highly doubt or they made it somehow to infect your systems which is more likely.
Maybe trough stuff posted here like manipulated images causing bufferoverflows and similar shit..

May I ask which operating system and browser you are using ?
It *might* give a first hint into the right direction..

Thx for sharing.

The only thing I do not understand is: in UK it is not an issue to steal BTC as long as one doesn't exchange them ??
Sound really weird. Can't believe it. Like I broke your nose and say sorry afterwards, since it's healing and I did not sell my 'punch you in the face video' everything is fine ?!

Where I'm from it would work another way.  They would be punish for their criminal behavior anyway. Based on public interest. Even if the victims would say "nah, leave them alone"  - they might be under pressure to say so and criminal behavior is criminal behavior which needs to be persecuted..

53  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: February 09, 2014, 10:07:49 AM

Suggestion: we move the OC of KnC devices onto a wiki style page, thereby the information can be easily updated, and formed into a readable form. (Unlike ~600 fragments that we all need to interpret and join together each time a new person reads?)

I second this, and I will personally donate a little to someone who gets this done. Some criteria:

It will need to be a top-down guide for lay users.
It will need to include step-by-step instructions.
It will need to include correct order of procedure so that updates and/or configuration won't wipe out anything.
It should include persistent bertmod, enablecores (if needed), wizkid's cgminer, etc.

I would be willing to edit it for clarity, at least for some reasonable amount of time going forward.

Any takers?

Regarding this wiki-style page...how to realize ?

I'll contribute, but I'd prefer to have all donations flowing to those who risked their hw and shared their knowledge with us in order to motivate such people for the next time we might need them. Writing a guide is no work/value in comparison.

I think it was tolip_wen and temen, in case I forgot one please forgive me and stand up.

Hi

How it's possible to make script that copies my own cgminer.sh script to /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh on startup?

And how to make script that restarts the miner with like 3 hour intervals? As there has been some downtime with overclocking and unit just shutting down=)

now 500gh/s semi-stable 2 module november saturn, was on during the night. Started clocking each die individually. To make it stable i needed to get rid of those fault 4:s turning up after some time. I think they have timer on them and that causes some overtemp-protection to trigger in after some time.

To have a custom script executed at boot time, you need to modify/rebuild the firmware (I'm going to do so for myself these days as soon as I'm done I'll post it in here how to do it)
Regarding your 3h question, a simple cron job or some kind of loop with sleeps would do the trick in general.
54  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC , combo.Two new model coming >10MHS. on: February 08, 2014, 11:19:49 PM
What is the cost of the 12MH model?  What is the power usage?  When are they available for shipping?

None of that info is in the first post.

asiabtc any news on this ?
I'm on the fence as well..

This is such an awesome entertainment.

And the best part is 'scammer gave refunds'... rofl

Honestly, which scammer will ever give you any refund EXCEPT he/she/them have been discovered and now fearing to face the legal consequences..
I'm sure investigations weren't stopped just because there were refunds taken place. Time will tell and put some asses in jail I guess.

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 07, 2014, 08:44:42 PM
The mine will be filled with current 28nm.
In addition they want to build another one in the same area for the Neptunes.

Plan A was deliver on time and then their mine will be used by themselves I guess or offered as cloud-hashing product.

I'm going to ask customer support for clarification regarding the coindesk article.
I can't believe it's true, coindesk must have misunderstood sth because knc's website still claims
"If, during the course of development of Neptune, there is any threat to the timelines for delivery, those delays will not result in the loss of any mining time for our Neptune customers."
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 07, 2014, 08:18:08 PM
So, does this mean that if we opt to wait and receive our Neptune we will get a compensatory 3TH hashing at their pool until the Neptune is shipped to us?
(...)

As I read it:
NO, that's not an option as it would be a combo of option 1 and 3.

1) When you decide to wait it would mean watching the diff sky rocking

2) For a refund, now is a better point in time than in summer I assume.

3) And when you decide for the hosting, one might pay >2.500$ a month for cloud-shit (based on 12.995 with 19-25%VAT and shipping) and will never see a physical device. In addition you only get 3TH/s, but they already said Neptune will be at least 11% faster.

KNC offers 3 options to all fully paid Neptune customers.

source: http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-offers-plan-b-case-neptune-miner-delivery-delay/

does this mean a 6 month contract costs $9,995 Huh

WTF ?!!

I assume this is a f'ing joke  Huh

At least it is in contrast to the latest news, Plan B was until now:
(in case) we will be late, you get 3TH/s (and not those 11% more btw) until Neptune is ready to ship.

Plan B

(...)

To make sure that everyone who has paid for their Neptune gets their hashing power we are building a data centre (...)

If, during the course of development of Neptune, there is any threat to the timelines for delivery, those delays will not result in the loss of any mining time for our Neptune customers. (...)

Since when is the link 'shipping' on kncminer's website redirecting to the default page ??

After refusing to change the delivery address and now this, I get more and more the impression they do not want to ship anything at all.
