41  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL or SODL? on: February 05, 2018, 11:09:49 AM
Lets not forget this isn't the first time bitcoin has crashed significantly with high percentage losses, and as usual it always rebounds. Now as for the OP I would go for HODL and BODL (Buy) As I am still a firm believer that bitcoin will reach an all time high at the end of this year. As for the BODL though I would give it some time as it might drop even further before getting back on its feet.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the future of BTC when fees increase? on: January 28, 2018, 07:40:38 PM
Yeah first thing that usually comes to mind is new block higher mining difficulty... higher fees.. However the future of bitcoin doesn't involve higher increased fees in fact after lightning network is realized the fees will be even lower which would impact bitcoin in a positive way and steam and other sites that stopped accepting bitcoin due to its fees might reconsider. So I would encourage you all to read more about lightning network and segwit. Lastly I feel like after the end  of this year or at least alongside the release of lightning network the number of segwit transactions would double if not.. triple!
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin from ⚕ DNA ⚕ on: January 28, 2018, 06:08:33 PM
Thats fascinating I wonder if we would ever be able to store actual bitcoin in our bodies xD. Also, I find it quite bizarre and believe it or not there is also a puzzle from 2015 (Same year as this one hah) that is yet to be solved posted by Coin_Artist it contains 5 Bitcoin! https://twitter.com/coin_artist/status/583979278238359552 I'm betting it will get solved by the end of this year.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Futures Trading Solve Bitcoin's Problems? on: January 28, 2018, 06:02:50 PM
I'm on the fence on this one, as once the Future contracts expire there is sometimes a noticeable result effecting bitcoins price short term as Futures traders want to pay for cheaper bitcoin or the opposite. And at the same time I think It's good for bitcoin as Futures trading is a big busy market and its cool to see it branching into the field of crypto. As for solving bitcoins problems? Not entirely.. although more use cases for bitcoin is always good.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $400,000,000 worth of bitcoin moved into a bech32 segwit address on: January 28, 2018, 05:54:35 PM
Not only is segwit safe, but with Lightning network coming in the foreseeable future It will fix a lot of the problems bitcoin suffers from such as transaction fees and speed. I'm actually glad with bald move of sending the 40 000 bitcoin this insures how secure they believe segwit is. Also the number of segwit transactions has increased this year I remember when it was really low last year, hopefully it reaches a higher number of transactions.

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE-ICO] 🚀 THRIVE - Build a better internet, EARN surfing the web! 🚀 on: January 24, 2018, 06:58:18 AM
Hello, I have a couple of questions.
1) If at the end of the ICO hard cap isn't reached what happens to the remaining tokens? Are they burnt by being sent to a 0x000000 address?
2) What is the difference between the thrive token and thrive coin.
Thank you.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why crypto will die on: January 21, 2018, 07:19:55 PM
First watch this vid.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LSBZtL_sLs

Crypto is incentivising people to destroy the planet.

At the moment the world is focused on getting rid of plastic, I'd say crypto is what we need to get rid of next.

If your crypto isn't green it's going to be taken out and shot. If your favourite coins don't destroy the plane they might have a future.

In the video I understand using monitors to run his crypto farm makes it easier but he should seriously consider an alternate solution. That would save more electricity. Additionally, I feel like on the grand scale of things Its causing more good than harm. When it comes to destroying the planet you need to look into waste and global warming. Not crypto learning :p
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KFC now accepts Bitcoin! on: January 21, 2018, 06:13:57 PM
With my luck, I'll be stuck in the drive thru behind the guy paying with BTC and waiting 10+ mins for the confirmation.  :/
Haha, that would be horrible. As for delivery im not that familiar with transaction confirmation times but as long as it doesn't take a long time and still at an affordable price I think this is good for crypto as customers would see the adverts and tell themselves "Oh bitcoin is accepted, wait.. whats bitcoin?" and would create more interest in crypto and also serve KFC as people with crypto can spend it. TLDR a win win situation : )
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoint to $1,800 USD by end of 2018 on: January 21, 2018, 04:07:48 PM
1800$? Even with a lot of cryptocurrency bans and semi-regulations and stricter guidelines for ICOs sure it might fall once again during this year to below 10 000 but I feel like 10k is like milestone/barrier that would be extremely hard to fall under. Now sure Its price will fall again I mean that is inevitably going to happen however its likely to recover and if anything hit a new all time high by the end of 2018. Also new technology will be bitcoin Ex. Lightning network which will lower fees and solve a few problems bitcoin currently suffers from. I'm firm on it reaching a new all time high by the end of the year so firm I'm even willing to bet on it.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm gonna sell my house on: January 21, 2018, 04:02:57 PM
Although Its safe to assume the sarcastic intention of the OP. Now assuming he was actually serious all I can say is It's always going to be a risk and are you willing to risk being homeless? Now taking a leap of faith can sometimes seem like an appealing idea but the house is just taking it too far. I'm not sure if you're living alone or not but take into consideration every consequence of your action. Now if you went through and developed a plan on how you plan on renting out an apartment with a certain percentage of your earnings from selling the house. And you already have a stable income from a certain job, and have carefully went through multiple possible scenarios then I could understand your decision... Yet I would never see myself doing it. I mean unless .. hah Cheesy
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Basic Attention Token (BAT): Why the Brave Browser will change advertising on: January 21, 2018, 03:57:22 PM
I'm all for this Token especially with the recent increase in YouTube partnership requirements needing 4000 hours of watch time, and this token is going to reward content creators. I've also noticed that a few shout outs from well known individuals caused an interesting spike in the tokens price Shocked
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: January 14, 2018, 05:31:43 PM
Well Bitcoin will still be mine-able after 100 years Smiley It's believed that around 2140~ish there won't be any bitcoin left to mine. However even if bitcoin runs out and no new bitcoin is mined that should only make it more valuable. Another thing to note is that if lightning network succeeds and other similar implementations ontop of the bitcoin blockchain or even a rather hard-fork that would solve the problems of high cost fees...etc of bitcoin then I don't see why it wouldn't last another 200+ years or even more as long as there is demand and users Bitcoin will be fine. Also I wonder if bitcoin will be the currency on other planets.. Okay maybe I took it too far but hey in the end it's bitcoin aka MR Unpredictable
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: china coming back ? on: January 14, 2018, 05:24:44 PM

rumors, mid january comeback
It's mid January now.. Although I still think they will lift the ban, It's just a matter of time and they need some sort of reason like say the release of Lightning Network or something. As for ICO's they might have a chance but with extreme regulations which would decrease the number of total ICOs held there yet also reduce the number of scams which is a good thing.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin banned on: January 14, 2018, 03:03:02 AM
Any ban in general might have some sort of effect "Short term" If anything I still feel like bad publicity is still good publicity as when bitcoin gets banned the people are left wondering "Oh, what is bitcoin anyway?" and even if it were to have a small effect on the price the price is almost guaranteed to recover as we have seen with other countries banning bitcoin.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Laptop Stolen with Bitcoin Wallet on: January 14, 2018, 03:00:09 AM
My laptop got stolen a few hours ago. It had all my data including bitcoin too.
Fortunately I had the seeds with me and I have now installed Electrum on my work machine and recovered the wallet with those keys.
It also asked for a password and I have gone with a new one. The wallet is still Synchronizing.

Now my question is, are my bitcoins safe now? Do I need to do anything else? The stolen laptop has the electrum in it, what else should I do to make sure that my bitcoins are secure?
Even though it asked you to change your old password with a new one I wouldn't risk it and would create a new wallet and send your funds there. You know what they say "Better safe than sorry". Also sorry to hear about your laptop, I'm sure you'll get a better one.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I need an opinion on rejecting a job offer or crypto on: January 10, 2018, 06:01:46 AM
I have opportunity in overseas job around 1000 usd. but my mind now not in a stable manner.

please guide me whats the best option doing crypto currency on the home or move to the job overseas?
Not sure what you meant by "Doing crypto currency" But I'd go with the job and after paying expenses each month (food/clothes/rent..etc) keep some money in case of emergencies then invest the rest into cryptocurrency and trade with them. At first you might start losing trades but if you spend your spare time learning from your mistakes, it could work out for you.. And if it does and you start out-earning your job, then & only then would I quit.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] THRIVE - 4M THRT REWARD | OVER 2M $ 🔥🔥 on: January 08, 2018, 07:20:40 AM
Hey if I submitted activity report and one of my posts got deleted can I resubmit my activity report?
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to eliminate unemployment. on: January 07, 2018, 07:24:12 PM
Now if you are reading this considering to leave your job/education to work as a full time miner/trader/ICO investor Idk/Hodler
I wouldn't recommend it, It's good to have a steady income and to slowly grow your cryptfolio as a hobby and if you see huge success in your earnings and that you're earning enough to cover your expenses then and only then would I consider unemployment. But like technically trading/investing...etc could be argued to be a form of employment. Also OP was a bit unclear if he means HODLING then I'd be careful I know people who buy at bitcoins peak and It starts snowballing down and they get scared and sell and lose a lot of their hard earned money, please do research and don't trade based on emotion and you should be fine.
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of 2018 bitcoin price on: January 07, 2018, 07:12:33 PM
Now for those claiming that bitcoin reached around 20 times its current price from start of 2017 to end of 2017 going from ~1k to 19k and expect the same to happen in 2018, there are a few things to keep in mind..
*For the price of bitcoin to increase there needs to be demand (There needs to be "New/Fresh" money coming in)
Now the growth of crypto in general in 2017 is obviously a great thing but can we expect the same amounts of fresh money to come in this year?
Also the mining difficulty is slightly increasing requiring more hash and miners don't want to mine at a loss so they do tend to pump the price of bitcoin
In my opinion I feel like 50 000 is a reasonable bet, however I would definitely do more research.
60  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the consequences of increasing demand to bitcoin? on: January 07, 2018, 07:06:17 PM
Increase in demand leads to increase in price which might seem as a good thing but we must not forget that those new to bitcoin could get confused by paying a thousand dollars just to get fractions of a bitcoin yet I'm all for slow demand increase and would rather see it grow slow and steady as it would give less reasons to be called a bubble.
