41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Guide] Best Altcoins to Invest in 2020 on: August 30, 2020, 08:18:04 AM
NEO has always been a solid project and the recent jump in price is proof that it's got a lot going for itself. Also, they've recent announced their foray into DeFi, so that'll be something to watch out for! Always DYOR
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the Future for uniswap Exchange? on: August 30, 2020, 07:47:53 AM
As with anything, the future is always uncertain in my opinion. The immediate future for DeFi looks quite bright, but let's not forget what happening with the ICO boom and bust.
I feel Uniswap, although in the news, isn't very unique but still a useful and interesting project. Also as with anything, it's important to be prudent and DYOR.

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Flamingo Finance - NEO's Venture Into DeFi on: August 29, 2020, 11:27:37 AM
With the DeFi boom in full swing, there have been a slew of projects jumping on to bandwagon. An interesting project I found was Flamingo Finance which was tweeted about by Da Hongfei. (Apparently, NEO has been helping to develop this project.)
Unfortunately, not a lot of information is available about this project.
My question, however, is: Why is NEO creating an entirely new platform or coin when it could just develop a platform based on the NEO token or leverage another platform on an existing network like Switcheo.
Any thoughts on this?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Satoshi Club x Level01 AMA - $600 Reward Pool on: August 29, 2020, 11:12:13 AM
Because of the DeFi boom there are a slew of platforms out there, with varied advantages and features, what makes Level01 any different from the rest of the bunch?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Satoshi Club x Level01 AMA - $600 Reward Pool on: August 29, 2020, 11:09:17 AM
Level01 is an interesting name, but i don't know what you decided to name it that... what's the reasoning behind the name?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Satoshi Club x Level01 AMA - $600 Reward Pool on: August 29, 2020, 11:08:39 AM
This sounds like an interesting platform. So my question is, what are the top 3 features of the LVX token?
48  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone else having trouble earning Merit? on: August 29, 2020, 10:53:44 AM
I feel sorry if you are struggling but, whether we admit it or not, the blame is on you. Anyway, forget about the past and try to move on. Better for you to explore the other boards. There's nothing wrong of becoming an alt fanatic but do not isolate yourself inside of it. Find where your other interest and excel on that. And if you really want to have a greater chance of getting merit then be more active from now on (the more entries, the more chances of winning Grin). You supposed to be a FM having 100 pages of in your history but you only have 16. So keep grinding and good luck.

Ps: I actually want to give you one merit to get motivated but unfortunately I don't have smerit right now, sorry.

Hey thanks for the encouraging words. However, i didn't understand this bit - "You supposed to be a FM having 100 pages of in your history but you only have 16." Could you elaborate?
Also, i think someone gave me a merit so it's cool! Maybe i don't think I've been approaching this correctly or been posting in the wrong forums or doing too many bounties. I like giving advice, or posting funny stuff, what's a good section to do that in?

Maybe start by rereading the forum rules? You're posting more then 3 times in a row.

There is no shortcut to get merit. There's no special place to post funny content either. Post something useful and unique,it will eventually comes to you. I'm not sure why you need to gain merits tho unless you want to take part in some sig campaign. With your experience as a (ex)writer for Huobi Global, wouldn't focusing on copywriting services a better choice for you?

oh dang! replies to peoples comments count as posts?? never knew that.
I remember being a Jr Member earlier and now i'm back to newbie that's why i want to get some merit.
And yes, copywriting is actually my niche, but again i don't think that would apply to any of the sections on here... may Off Topic, I guess?

I checked first two pages of your post history and it's clear that you mainly posts on altcoin related boards.

Do you think your posts deserve merit/s? Then submit it at @CryptopreneurBrainboss merit giveaway thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210222.0) He's one of the few high rank members who merit altcoin related topics. Don't forget to read the rules he set though.

My personal suggestion for you is to explore/read other parts of the forum. It's not that altcoin boards are bad, it's just that most merit sources rarely visits them because it's a spamfest.

Do you have any other interest? Your twitter profile says you're a poker guy. There's the gambling board in case you want to discuss with other poker players.

By the way, this topic doesn't belong to altcoin board. Perhaps it's better suited for Off-Topic.

Hey this was really helpful. Thanks a ton! I am a semi-pro poker player but didn't even know there was a poker section on bitcointalk. LOL!
This feedback was very constructive and if I had any merit then I'd give you some! hahahaha. Cheers!

I've been a member since 2017 but somehow have not been able to earn a single merit. lol. Does anyone else also have trouble and what can be done to increase ones chances of getting some?
I feel you mate even  i didnt recieve any merit coming from someone else, in my third year in these forum i havent recieve merit maybe its due to my low quality posting but i admit it. Im still happy reaching the full member rank.

Could you share some details on what helped you earn more merit over time. The kind of posts you posted, etc?

I've been a member since 2017 but somehow have not been able to earn a single merit. lol. Does anyone else also have trouble and what can be done to increase ones chances of getting some?

You need to post something informative, new or funny in order to get a merit. Your post should be something which other person enjoys reading and give you merit for it. Repeating the same information again and again in spam mega threads wont help you gain any merits even if you keep posting for 10 years.

Ah thanks! what's a good place to post funny content, in your opinion?

I checked your posts and I did not found any of them that deserve one single merit. Posts in bounty thread reporting link, are in the rank of spam. it is not read by managers either and especially not old high ranked members or merit sources. When you post in other section than bounty, it's mostly part of some pointless discussion on useless mega threads, which also no one reads or is interested in. These threads serve to fulfil post quota for signature campaigns.
You need to stop with posting just to write something here, try to be active in discussion and talk with other members here. As @Bttzed03 says, find something that is close to your personal interests and find topics about it, then discuss there, be constructive. It can be gambling, poker or whatever.

You are registered here Feb. 2018 not "since 2017", and you are offline from 27.November 2018 until 20. August 2020, then when you come again, just reposted one of your post two years old. Which is, by the way, the only article from Steemit.

you seem to consider us idiots so you're copy/paste some old news for us, you still expect someone to praise you for it. this is the digital age and Bitcointalk with people here is one of the most advanced. You can't sell us garbage here.

edit: This topic probably belongs to the Meta section

haha yeah that was my bad actually. I remember being a Jr. Member when i was last year and thought it went back to newbie because my activity was low, so i reposted a couple of articles I'd written earlier when I was a writer for Huobi Global.

Oh, complaints about merit have become constant from newbies. Despite that you have been on the forum for a long time, this remains a problem for you.
Perhaps this is simply not your forum. Maybe it's time for you to change your mind and go to cooking or home economics forum. I didn't even bother to read your posts. It can be seen from the reviews that you are an ordinary spammer who hoped to monetize your account. But due to a lack of want and blaming everyone for your failures, you stayed where you started.

“If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse.”  Jim Rohn

I was actually content being a jr member but when i saw i was relegated back to newbie i felt a bit jibbed. It's true that my account does seem a bit spammy but I feel it's because i used to take part mostly in bounty campaigns and I was also a writer for Huobi Global and this was a good place for me to showcase the articles I'd written. However, besides that, I have also offered quite a bit of advice to people on bunch of threads. Maybe I'm not posting in the right threads. What suggestions or constructive feedback would you give?

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we lots of people got scam easily on: August 27, 2020, 01:29:48 PM
To add to that, we decide too soon without making a proper research. A quick search could change our mind about the project.
Another reason that's highly applicable with me is we trust something blindly. Putting all your money is a single project however legit it may seem is always a bad idea. Don't put more than 10% of your funds in a single altcoin.

I feel not many people do their due diligence and invest their time in proper research. As I've said a few times before, a good metric is to judge how real and serious the team behind it is. Watch out for fake team members! That's a big red flag and can tell you how authentic a project is.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if the project is fake? on: August 27, 2020, 01:22:48 PM
That's a good way to start. The first thing we should do is search about the team members and verify if they are really involved in the project. Most of the fake ICO uses fake names and create new linkedin Ids with those fake names. If you encounter no other reference of the member and just a number of social profile that seem to be made recently than they are surely scam.
You can also try calling the phone number and inquiry the person who picks it up to find how serious they are about the project.

Yes i second this, this is a great way to tell if a project is fake. Do your research and verify if the team behind it is real, that's the top indicator. In fact, there are a lot of funny memes of projects with fake people behind them. Recently, i saw a project that had animated pictures instead of team members' faces. That's surely a red flag. Another way to check is if there's real activity on their social media and telegram as well. Good luck and don't get scammed!!!

What are you views and thoughts about flamingo finance? There's not much info out there about it yet.

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think DeFi season is going to be just like Altcoin season? on: August 23, 2020, 11:33:13 AM
Some of the projects that were already known to be De-Fi long before ICO season started were like BitRefill and they are legit. Now we are seeing lending pools and stablecoins pools are De-Fi project and added on top are the fanbois hoping to see huge gains. This all makes it seem similar to the hyped ICO pump of 2017.

However it does not mean that all of them are scams. But profitable to investors? Doubtful about it because ICOs were not legal securities and as long as this sector remains unregulated nothing good will happen to altcoins. You can only put your trust in one thing and that is bitcoin.

I remember a lot of coins were Proof of Stake. Now the buzzword seems to be DeFi.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think DeFi season is going to be just like Altcoin season? on: August 23, 2020, 11:32:13 AM
At least we saw now that this De-Fi project has been delivered the live product and has used it in the ecosystem not just like ICO, this isn't comparable yet. And the fact that most De-Fi tokens projects are being held in by top 500 holder addresses.

And yes, there are too many speculation parts about this and we can't blame those investors comparing ICO and De-Fi projects especially those people had been failure of having profit on ICO's projects back then. Let see and wait for the result and at least we invest of what we can afford.

Yeah it's going to be interesting for sure. we'll just have to wait and watch.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think DeFi season is going to be just like Altcoin season? on: August 23, 2020, 11:31:09 AM
I think everything has a perfect  time and a date to expire.DeFi project is the new trend which is more hyped than 2018 ICO,s or Altcoins rally.DeFI projects are performing very well. But because if this hype every project are turning into DeFI. and just like ICO many scammers are running scam DeFi project.I think it will bring down the DeFi project. If  the DeFi project rally continues in 2021 it will be a great opportunity for crypto to grow more. And I think DeFi will be a trend for a some time may be year or more.

Yeah, feels like it got more legs than ICOs had. Interesting to see what project stick around and whether they can sustain the success and hype.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think DeFi season is going to be just like Altcoin season? on: August 23, 2020, 11:29:44 AM
Did you mean the current DeFi hype like ICO hype in 2017/2018?

Well, IMO there's no different from that and nowadays many frauds on behalf of DeFi project already exposed.

Yeah ICO Seasons of 2017-18. Huge pump followed by an equally huge dump across the board
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Do you think DeFi season is going to be just like Altcoin season? on: August 20, 2020, 04:15:47 PM
Smells a lot like 2018 doesn't it?
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / 2018 has been a horrific year for the markets on: August 20, 2020, 04:14:30 PM
2018 has been a horrific year for the markets with many coins taking huge hits along with BTC. But while there’s blood in the streets with no end in sight and sentiment is at an all-time low, it’s quite easy to forget that many projects have been putting in the work to improve and perfect that products.

Huobi Global has consistently been innovating and taking giant steps towards advancing its offering and delivering stellar services to customers.

Along with a slew of products and services like Huobi OTC and Huobi Cloud to name a few, Huobi also launched their own crypto wallet named Huobi Wallet. And recently, they’ve added support for EOS and TRON (TRX). Could we see support being implement for more projects in the future? Read on to find out.
