I know how important it is for members to make high quality posts to earn merit. Many will disagree with my idea, but what I noticed lately is there is a lot of Members and above that don't have any basic knowledge of topics they post in.

What do you think about a crypto currency basics test for ranking up? It could be adapted to the rank level you wish to receive. The test should be an addition to the gained merits.

This would help to prevent people ranking up based on connections and bare luck. Plus it would raise awareness and knowledge among the members. We are all here to learn aren't we? So why not put our knowledge to the test and justify our rank. Knowledge will raise the quality of posts.

That is such a great idea.. not.. you do know that we are online, any Pajeet can type a question into google then answer it.

They would still have to read what they will copy if they want to give the right answer. I didn't say they have to learn word by word. It's enough if they read through.

43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people try to create their own coins? on: April 29, 2018, 08:33:09 PM
There are so many coins, but many of them just a copy of anothers. Why they waste their time for nothing? Grin

Because to create new code for a coin isn't easy so mostly new coins are made based on Bitcoin’s open-sourced protocol and then different set of features are added to meet the creators needs.

They don't see it as a waste of time, but rather an opportunity to make a lot of money off course. Some succeed others don't. At the end we're all here for money.

We are also wasting our time here on the forum. What for?
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is there still future for digital currency? on: April 29, 2018, 10:04:02 AM
Digital currencies are the currency of the future. Because of the volatility they are subjected to, stable coins present relative stability which is necessary for everyday use. They are still in a phase of development and improvements just like other crypto currencies, but they have a great potential to replace fiat some day.

You can find out more about stable coins here:

45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DUMPERS AND THEIR BAD ORDERS on: April 27, 2018, 08:39:58 PM
Where do we get all this free things?

I don't think there is enough tokens distributed in the Airdrops to have significant impact on the price. It's normal for most ICO's & ITO's to have a price drop when they get listed at the beginning. I'm sure that if the companies were of the same opinion as you, they would not have Airdrops in the first place. Anyway, what did you expect? For Helbiz to go to the moon as soon as it hits some exchanges?

46  Economy / Reputation / Re: Spammer & scammer on the loose? on: April 27, 2018, 07:44:14 PM
I guess the warning helped. No spam from Vblossom today.
Didn't. He keeps on spamming...
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your plans for the year 2018 on: April 27, 2018, 07:16:18 AM
My goal is to make enough money with Bounties, to make some nice profits from day trading. I'm holding altcoins from Airdrops since they are worthless now anyway. I think $4k should be enouh to start with. I'm doing some trading on a small scale meanwhile to learn and get a good sense of strategies, so that I will be ready and not screw up when the real deal starts  Grin

Developers can you please clarify who is on your team and the roles they have, or is it only you?

You can try contacting dev on PayPro ANN & Bounty Thread:
* https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2441624.0
* https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2460780

it's sound nice. Can I join it?
looking for your reply

Join what exactly?

This will be good news for bounty hunters, after a long wait they will finally get paid. Many issues that affect paypro start from scam and smart contract  problematic.

They are still waiting. It doesn't look good. The team keep promising results yet all they have are excuses.

Hello everyone,

I've bumped twice in the last hour on this guy spamming some bounty for 2 days now  Shocked

I reported to moderator already.

After checking the spammed Bounty Thread I realized the Author of the Bounty Campaign is also overpromoting the project.

Profile Url: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2006619 is also very suspicious.

I don't know what is going on here, but it looks like scam to me. What do you think?
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tactics When Market is Falling on: April 26, 2018, 11:53:32 AM
Whatever you do, don't sell on red (under your buying price). Never, unless you have a Bitconnect case Grin
If you are uncertain about a coin/token wait for the uptrend or pump, which will eventually happen and just sell it with profits.
51  Other / Serious discussion / New smart contract Bug BatchOverflow - updated on: April 25, 2018, 09:03:09 PM
2018-04-25
OKEx and Poloniex suspended all ERC-20 tokens deposits and withdrawals to review all smart contracts for exposure to the new smart contract bug BatchOverFlow. While Poloniex already re-enabled deposits and withdrawals, OKEx's deposits are still suspended.

BatchOverflow Bug is a classic integer overflow issue. By exploiting the bug, attackers can generate an extremely large amount of tokens, and deposit them into a normal address. This makes many of the ERC-20 tokens vulnerable to price manipulations of the attackers.

The first detection of New proxyOverflow Bug occurred on 2018-04-22 by PeckShield. During the scan and analysis of Ethereum-based (ERC-20) token transfers, which they built on their earlier efforts in analyzing EOS tokens, PeckShield's system raised an alarm caused by an unusual BEC token transaction.(Figure 1)

Figure 1: Huge amount of BEC Token Transfer

The study of the code has revealed that such transfer comes from an ''in-the-wil'' attack that exploits a previously unknown vulnerability in the contract.

Quote
The vulnerable function is located in batchTransfer and the code is shown in Figure 2. As indicated in line 257, the amount local variable is calculated as the product of cnt and _value. The second parameter, i.e., _value, can be an arbitrary 256 bits integer, say 0x8000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000(63 0’s). By having two _receivers passed into batchTransfer(), with that extremely large _value, we can overflow amount and make it zero. With amount zeroed, an attacker can then pass the sanity checks in lines 258–259 and make the subtraction in line 261 irrelevant. Finally, here comes the interesting part: as shown in lines 262–265, the balance of the two receivers would be added by the extremely large _value without costing a dime in the the attacker’s pocket!
PeckShield (https://peckshield.com/2018/04/22/batchOverflow/)

Figure 2: The Vulnerable Function: batchTransfer()

Further analysis shown that more than a dozen of ERC20 contracts are vulnerable to this bug. To demonstrate, they've successfully transacted with one vulnerable contract (not tradable in any exchange) as a proof-of-concept exploit (Figure 3).

Figure 3: Proof-of-Concept Exploit

On 2018-04-24 they detected more of suspicious token transactions (Figure 4 & 5).

Figure 4: Unusual MESH token transaction

Figure 5: Unusual SMT token transaction

Figure 6: proxyTransfer() function classic integer overflow problem

Quote
As shown in Figure 6, both _fee and _value are input parameters which could be controlled by the attacher. If _fee + _value happens to be 0 (the overflow case), the sanity checks in line 206 could be passed. It means the attacker could transfer huge amount of tokens to an address (line 214) with zero balance. Also, a huge amount fee would be transferred to the msg.sender in line 217.

Ethereum is developing its own stable coin? Never knew about this. Thanks for the information.
Haha, good one Grin Look at the date and the official ticker symbol ...

Heh, yea. Sorry about that, was April Fool’s joke. There will be no WTF. My bad, I didn't check the details sufficiently.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn about Bitcoin on: April 24, 2018, 10:54:21 AM
There are risks not only with cryptocurrencies but any kind of financial investments. The greater the possibility of profit, the greater the risk.
There is no safe place for your funds. Not on exchanges, not your wallet (web wallet, hardware wallet, ordinary wallet), not at the bank...
I think we all know the risks of participating in the cryptocurrency business, at least we should. This is not the place for those who do not dare to risk.
But yes, to minimize the risk we have to acquire new knowledge about cryptocurrencies every day, make a good strategy for investing and most importantly, trust yourself and believe you can do it.

Anything is possible here, that is why we love the crypto world!
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) Blockchain to be Used by NASA for Research Purposes on: April 24, 2018, 10:29:05 AM
This is a very interesting news. Although I don’t understand what NASA wants to do with Ethereum, they may seem irrelevant, but this is good news for Ethereum.

NASA has been studying Blockchain for quite some time now. Bitcoin, Ethereum and other distributed ledgers.

What do they want from Ethereum? They want safe and fast data storage, sharing and access, lowers costs, increased reliability, etc.

This is one of their study from 15. 9. 2017 I found if you want more details: https://sensorweb.nasa.gov/Bitcoin%20Blockchains%20and%20Distributed%20Satellite%20Management%20Control%209-15-17v12.pdf#page=2&zoom=auto,-250,530

hi guys tell me what is the maximum number you earn from bounty campaign
Until now, the money I earned was not so much. because besides I'm still a newbie, I also still need to learn a lot about this crypto world.
if calculated, maybe about $ 15K I already get. How about you guys?
let's keep your spirit, search for more success.
good luck !!

On what account did you made $15k doing bounty? And which bounties have you done. Can't find anything on this profile.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty is like a Box Chocolate on: April 21, 2018, 08:30:50 PM
Yep, it's like a Chocolate Box.

But if you choose to support only projects with a real products or extraordinary teams, it will be like a Belgian Chocolate Box. The Best! For example, gambling ICOs are always like this.

So you recomand doing gambling bounties?  Grin

I was wondering about this, since I'm doing my first bounties and haven't finished any yet. How accurate are your predictions of token number and value, for those who do research and calculation? I calculated my token shares for most of my bounties, but I don't know how accurate can your calculations actually be? Any experiences?

Been seeing a lot of talk about stablecoins lately like this article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/shermanlee/2018/03/12/explaining-stable-coins-the-holy-grail-of-crytpocurrency/#432e3ce84fc6

What do you guys think about them? My personal favorite would be Havven since they're not pegged to fiat or gold and is trustless.

They are necessary for crypto currencies mass adoption in economy and industries. Mass adoption needs stability, but current stablecoins have too many flaws.

ETH, BTC, LTC, etc are NOT stablecoins. Ethereum is developing it's own stablecoin - World Trade Francs (WTF)

Quote
Unfortunately, we’ve found that the existing stablecoins all have various flaws; Tether is unauditable, Nubits has already once collapsed in price, Seignorage Shares is after three years still just a whitepaper and MakerDAO is an inadequate joke because…. reasons.

This situation has prompted Ethereum ETH to develop and launch the World Trade Francs (WTF) which is a decentralized 4.0 stablecoin that is solely based on the next-generation blockchain technology. The stablecoin particularly is tailored to develop a free trade as well as an economic interaction system that will integrate the next-generation blockchain alongside the hypercube tangle technology.
