You can buy good altcoins for now and hold for a long-term to earn some extra money but i will suggest only you will buy is ripple and bitcoin.

Day trading is not good enough if the market is not in good situation until now and your coin will affect the price of it so its better to hold your coins until the market will recovers and turn into green.

It's more profitable if you do daily trading to avoid lossing market situation for now and for holding cryptocurrency in long time its depend if you gonna earn or not.
