41  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: November 23, 2013, 04:55:10 AM
The easiest thing would have been to change the IP on a single machine, manually configured to 192.168.1.x
Then connect to the blade 192.168.1.254:8000 in browser
Then reset the blade to desired IP 192.168.2.x, gateway 192.168.2.1 (or whatever your router's current setting is)
Then set your machine back to its original IP, probably autoconfig, and load the config page from 192.168.2.x:8000

Changing the router settings could screw up connectivity with every machine on your network, especially if there's a mismatch between subnet and gateway settings, and every machine on your network will have to pull a new IP to function properly on the new router settings. Manually dropping a single computer to the blade's subnet, then changing the blade's IP to your router's subnet, is less likely to throw wrenches in various works.

Sidehack; How do you power your blade? I saw in your overclock pictures that you use yellow, red, black? Is that correct?

Bru, do me a favor, take pictures of your PSU , How you have it being powered.

Okay as far as the proxy goes. open a cmd prompt.
its a dos based appication, you cant just double click and let it run. it must be ran from the cmd line

if i remember right you should set it up like
proxy.exe -h (give you a list of the cmds)

 proxy.exe -o stratum.btcguild.com -h 4829

then in the configuration page of blade, set the server address to the pc ip address your connecting to.
192.168.1.3 or whatever and the port of the proxy.exe

Sorry not at the pc i set up my proxy on. so again this is rushed, Im still having problems with my blade. It resets at 2:15 min and i get 4 x's at the end of my chip line... FMLLLLLL
and this rev2 board has no documents regarding it at all, i got the green pcb!!! FML FML FML

but yea please if you could take some pictures, i wanna see how it setup to see if i did anything wrong. altho i get power to mine, i can get to the onfig page, multi meter at the green post reads 11.9 volts.. i just dont know wtf is going on... thanks

I got my first blade today. Got it powered up and internet connected, but it won't find the config page. I've read the setup guide but I'm not sure how to tell if my router IP

is right. Every time I go to 192.168.1.254:8000 I either get page not found or a page with websites for 192.168.1.254

My IPv4 is: 192.168.2.8, default gateway: 192.168.2.1  I went in internet properties and changed IP address from auto to 192.168.1.200 but that disconnected the internet.

Could the problem be the 2 instead of 1 in my IPv4 address, can I change this and still connect? I tried to reset the blade, no help. The internet light on the blade yellow is

on, green flashing, no config page, help

Brudog;
   Goto your router ; 192.168.2.1
login . then look for your internet; local; dhcp settings you'll see it will say 192.168.2.100 etc.
change that to 192.168.1.100. also make your your ip range ends at 254.
     sorry this is rushed.
44  Bitcoin / Hardware / Blade Rev2; Green PCB on: November 23, 2013, 12:24:13 AM
hi i have a good power supply all wiring as to the pictures 4 black 2 yellow on a splitter. the blade powers up for about 2 min 15 sec and then restarts.
i have installed virtual machine with win 7 32bit and ran in mining proxy then directed the blades to my pc in virutal machine but still no luck. i use the mining proxy download from bitcoin.cz and use bat file with my details, i have bitminter, slush pool and btcguild tried all different setting but still same.
can any one setup a proxy for me (via instructions or remote)and i will give 0.2 btc as a reward

My blade is ver2, green in color.

I have the same issue. I am using a computer PSU rated at 450 watts, upgraded from a desktop psu i was using.

The specs of the power supply are as followed:
 3.3v@20a  / 5v@20a   /  12v@30a / -12v@.5a    /  5vsb@2a

From the PSU -> Molex -> Molex splitter -> 2 yellow / 5 black -> Blade.

You'll see i get 4 x's at the end of the row for "CHIP"  .
I just bought this PSU thinking the one i was using wasnt good enough. so bought this 450 one.
I did the PSU Bypass .. Jumped the green wire with the black next to it.
I tested the volts at the green connector and there good. various testing on the board get me voltage. With this gen2 - green pcb i just dont know what to do and what to expect at various points.
The configuration screen shows as follows :

 Thanks

Just done! I was trolling, found another post which mentioned the router being x.x.1.254 default..

Its working, shit i killed like 3 hours working on this lol  Roll Eyes

now just got to get the proxy and off to the races.

thanks again

  Hey...
How did you run power to the board?
I took a 4-pin-molex which was to power 2 sata. I snipped stripped and did as you see. 4 blacks; 2 yellows.
Cant get the access via the webserver .
The led flashes once in a blue moon.

my router is setup, to end its dhcp server at 254, i just ungraded it to include 254. I still cant get access to the webserver. my internal ip is 192.168.2.xxx
ive tried new ethernet cables, still cant wrapped my head around it.. thanks

In my opinion, you'll be merely wasting money on buying USB Erupters for mining BTC according to the current difficulty
With 40 USB erupters, you will get 0.01btc everyday. That means it takes 100+ days to make profit (suppose there won't be a sharp increase in calculating power). It's easier to make that by simply buying BTC and sell it at the right time, requiring little investment.
With 1 USB erupters, you will get approximately nothing.

I'm not looking to mine BTC's directly.

Which I believe brings up my second extended question from what I read the USB are only Able to mine SHA-256 which means BTC, Namecoin etc. It's the altcoin's im interested in. However the coin I'm looking at is scrypt and there doesn't seem to be any luck in that department for a scrypt ASIC. With that said I'm waiting on a reply from this blogger who says you can dual mine with the asic BTC and LTC which I found funny because the BTC is SHA-256 and Litecoin is Scrypt.

I mine PP coin with my 3 eruptors.

how's the exchange rate to btc/fiat?

I gotta find the link, but apparently there is a asic-scrypt miner hitting the R&D board. Once i find it, ill msg you the link.
49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB erupters for "fun" on: November 11, 2013, 04:28:12 AM
USB Erupters ;
If the green light stays on, they are not mining.

If the green light goes off , flashes randomly, they're mining.

Get yourself a powered usb hub. They say the erupters use 2.5watts. So make sure your hub is able to supply that.  (voltage_out_put_of_the_hub * amps_output_of_the_hub) / 2.5amps = the number of erupters you can run.

Also what did you snag your eruptors at? I keep reading and I'm finding ones for 14 bucks but some people around the net claim I can get some for 8? I get the 14 from amazon and that's if I really look hard.

Even on amazon you can get them cheaper.. 3 of my 4 are under 10. the 4th was 11.

Btcguild has
"0.07 BTC/unit for 1-9
0.06 BTC/unit for 10-99
0.05 BTC/unit for 100+"

When btc was lower the .05 was like 6ish and change. and so on, granted u had to order 100+ but non-the-less..

Keep checking on amazon, its hit or miss.

They can be hot to the touch.
With my 4 running, aside from a slight power problem with my hub, they run 1.2/1.3GHz.

Does anyone know what the solider points are on the end of the board, near the green light?
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Mining Shares Still Profitale? on: November 11, 2013, 01:37:43 AM
I understand the longer one waits to get invovled, the less they'll make if anything.
I just dont see how people are saying its not worth it to get involved now.

If you were able to mine with 320GHz, $3500 invested in such machine. You're going to tell  me that id of wasted money?

I got USB Eruptors at 1.3GHz/1300MHz , earning .30 a day , even with the recent increase in difficultly. Prior to the increase I was earning close to .40/day. So could someone please elaborate on how getting invovled in mining at this time, even by the end of 2013, how it wouldnt be worth it, Im tired of everyone saying its not worth it, its better to do this then that, etc no one ever gives legit logical reason's as to why its not worth it. Sooo... Below is my rhyme to reason as to why im going to be getting involved.

The way ive come to my conclusion is as follows.
Using my current birthday gift setup as the base.. $40 for the hardware. 4 miners @ 1.3GHz

At the current difficultly of 511mil. Im earning .30 a day, roughly.

  SO a rig at 320Ghz/320000MHz ; $3500 .
     320,000 / 1,200  = 266.6666666666667 * .30 = $80 a day, right?
Granted this is just at the current 511Mil diff. and 80/day for a month(30d) is $2400
The numbers seem worth it to me. Even with there being 12M of 21M created...

             Rob

Is this not correct in theory? Am i missing something from this "larger" picture?
