41  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 12, 2013, 07:06:47 AM
Jim, I use a Raspberry PI myself for misc stuff, curious to see how well the embedded PI works with the miner, would be good to see how it works standalone as a worker in pool or even grouped together under separate computer through usb. Thanks for sharing...

I know I know, the videos... We have to do it anyway because answering calls about how to hook up/connect to the TPlink inside the cases is getting quite bothersome. First thing in the morning we'll shoot a video on that and incorporate the miners in it as well obviously.

Suggestion: get some extra lights for that video shoot, even some extra lamps or shop lights.
Place 2 or 3 of them behind white sheets BEHIND the camera and off to the sides or above if practical,
bathe the scene in diffuse light.
Current picture/vid qualities are not helping your cause, spend an extra 14 minutes setting the scene and it will show your stuff off way nice.

Hello!

I woundered what is currently the best trading site for bitcoins these days?
Thinking of fees, design and use of credit cards/paypal/other instant transaction payment methods.

Do not use BTC-e.
Examine their trust rating on this site, read the messages associated with their dissatisfied customers.
There is a reason their pricing is lower than anyone else's.

43  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BTC-e scamming you? on: December 09, 2013, 07:33:43 AM
Recently, we started to receive  claims because of the long-time credit of funds transferred by SEPA / WireTransfer. The main problem is that some of our clients have a negligent attitude to the control of the field Details of Payment. As the result it takes an additional time to find your money. Please, make sure, that  the information Details of Payment is always present in the document of transfer, do not shorten it, don not  use your account username.

i had resubmit the swift record from bank , please recheck for it, This is my ticket number WNM-914-53128. Thanks in advance.

-------------------------------------------------
Everyone who is experiencing problems with BTC-e:
-------------------------------------------------

Don't just complain, work to LOWER their trust.
They are selectively scamming,
not everyone who sends money gets the run-around,
the requests for validation docs and SWIFT records
and closed or dropped unresolved support tickets.

These BTC-e guys seem to be running a semi-Ponzi with our money.
Which explains the low prices- their price discrepancy is the hook to lure new money.

Read the last few pages of posts here, you will likely see some familiar stories:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40889.0;all
and, here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=347946.0;all
and here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=351118.0;all

and probably many more places, like here:
http://www.coindesk.com/btc-e-exchange-banking-issues/

and on reddit.

When you come to a point where you feel they have screwed you around enough,
help the rest of us who share your fate to warn others.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=33012

Enter details, timespans since you initially sent your money or
had your account locked for no good reason etc.,
amounts, how you are being treated.

You may note that their trust level resides in negative numbers and is RED.
WE are the reason for that. Increase the distrust.

Then go drop an email to news at coindesk and genesis block and any other online
crypto-newsline you like to read. They began to respond when coindesk
published last week... yet still it goes on.

By lowering their trust rating here you are warning others NOT to deposit
with them. Perhaps the reduction of new money coming in will allow them to
spend some time TREATING THEIR EXISTING CUSTOMERS PROPERLY...and raise
their pricing in line w/ the other exchanges.

They will likely credit you, EVENTUALLY.
After they have used your money to keep prices artificially low
and made money off of your money for a while.
When and if they do right by you, revisit these forums to post a comment
now and then re: how things were resolved.
Don't just drop communication because YOU GOT YOUR situation ironed out after a month,
help the newer people understand what is going on.

Ultimately, we don't want BTC-e to close, we want these guys to run a clean exchange
and lowering their reputation seems to be the only way we can have an effect on them.
They provide a useful service, but others are barking at their heels -
if BTC-e cannot figure out how to run a completely reputable operation they will soon be replaced.
44  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: December 04, 2013, 04:27:39 PM
I've checked with my bank and the reference was filled in correctly. (ticket UIB-381-70292)

But, for other people maybe you could consider returning those funds immediately when they come in without a reference, that's surely got to be cheaper than all the bad publicity it is generating. I like btc-e and want it to succeed but you need to employ more staff, and quickly.

yes, more obfuscation.

For all those who think BTC-e is perpetrating fraud with your account based on the similarity of your
situation and all that is mentioned in the forums,
I urge you to go here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=33012

and enter the situation so we may get an idea of the scope of this.
BTC-e telling us it is our fault does not make sense, especially given the time spans between
non-helpful support messages.
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 03, 2013, 08:44:09 PM
Great, thanks Biffa, I think I stand corrected on the powersupply issue.
1 down.

And thanks to you as well, Cheshyr, I did not know about the thermal behaviour at the junctions. You seem knowledgeable
on the subject, as far as I know. The video shows a fan attached to the sink, oriented upward, or laying on its side by the end of the clip.
2 down?

Cheshyr, about the 3 connectors -
we cannot see anything more, and the video shows a USB connection at right-angles to the 4-pin molex.
Which would be obstructed by the HDD case. Unless the cards as installed are diff from what is depicted.
The boards depicted somewhere above appear to be from technobit
http://technobit.eu/index.php?id_product=55&controller=product&id_lang=1

and the 3 pin term seems to be used ( by technobit ) for power?

Thank you for your replies.
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 03, 2013, 07:03:07 PM

Why the stock mITX cases? Lian Li right? Seems expensive for miner cases, I assume this is just to mock up?

Black:
http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q08/ (circa $100)

Silver:
http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q07/ (circa $55)

I've been watching this thread.

Yes, lets hope this is a mock-up because the pictures, as posted leave me skeptical, but way less so than if I had actually fronted some money.
Some flaws, as I see them:
1) Although there is plenty of space, the heatsinks are mounted BELOW the sources of heat. wtF?
2) the HDD enclosure and heatsinks appear to have flakes of aluminum or something shiny... never a good thing to mill and drill near the components, could be mistaken
3) I dont see any sort of comm bus between the boards or anywhere else.. unless those 3 connector terminal blocks are for some really snappy RS232/422/485...
4) how does one comm with the overall device? a NIC or some I can't quite make out?
5) Not much air movement from the powersupply fan facing the side of the case... and why not just use the powersupply MOUNT? Is that supply just positioned in the middle of
the case for some reason? to make the case appear full?
6) pricing... 1.2THs/5999USD
7) no wattage etc specs posted on the site, which is barely operational, except for the 'pay with these methods' part?
Cool most all the commentary and pics up to this point, and yes, I also watched the video.
9) that camera may be the miner, may provide > hashrate than the item behind it

AMT, you guys might take a page out of BTC-e's playbook and advertise 1.2THs for 15-20% lower than anyone else, you'll get a lot more SUCKAs.

-or- PROVE me wrong, I want nothing more that for some additional players to get into hardware.
Again the question will go out there:

ANYONE, ANYONE?
COME FORWARD if you are a satisfied customer, show us the specs, in vids/pictures?

47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 01, 2013, 09:09:11 AM
Can you say a few words re: why the pics above show heatsinks below the sources of heat?
48  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BTC-e scamming you? on: December 01, 2013, 09:01:48 AM
As to my last post, has anyone ever deposited money and not have a hold, your account simply doesn't say anything, sent them 60k+....still nothing. How long should I wait, they did say give them 5 days after i submitted my ID.

yes, thats my deal. 10k.....is where? oh, you need to send us the SWIFT transaction record... <wait for days> .... oh, maybe you need to see who else besides us is
holding your money ...<time passes> .... <more time>........a bunch of non-response..... checking w/ my bank.......sending in Russian.... contacting them in more ways
they ignore.......
and so on.
Nothing shows up in the account and I know damn well they have it.

Let us know if you become one of the lucky ones who gets their fundage, please do.
49  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINBASE RIPPED ME OFF $80k. *WARNING WARNING WARNING* on: December 01, 2013, 08:52:13 AM
Coinbase purchase times are growing. I first purchased 6 BTCs on 11/14/13 and was credited on 11/21/13 (7 days). I purchased 10 BTCs on 11/23/13 and now I find out it will take 9 days (11/2/13) to get credit.

I am now going to a local bitcoin dealer for purchases which only take 20 minutes.

would you please let us know how this turned out?
thx

Flawlessly. However, I first went through this local dealer before I was able to get validated through Coinbase. The advantage Coinbase has over local dealers is the transaction amount. You can request 50 btc withdrawals per day and you can deposit 10 btc per day for the first month and 50 btc per day after that. My local dealer has a $2500/day limit.

I have also gone through localbitcoins.com and deposited to bank accounts and was credited almost immediately. That web site has a escrow service so you're not going to have someone just walk off with your bank deposit.

Take your localbitcoin deal elsewhere into another thread and stop jacking my thread. This is the scam accusations for christ's sake. You wanna tell other people how good your Coinbase or local deal went, then go ahead and post elsewhere. Thank you.

You don't own this board so I don't care what you say. I'll post anything I want.

I was being helpful by providing people with alternatives and was asked a question so I posted again. That's not hijacking a thread. Even if it were we'll talk about what we please. If you don't like that put me on ignore. Got it?

yep, I did ask, thanks btcprice.
javaguardian, thanks for the warning re: coinbase, I also use them.

50  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $35000 USD missing at BTC-e.com and they won't respond on: November 30, 2013, 10:49:23 PM
Cefalu - thanks for the info.
chitae - I just did a little research in the past hour or so and came up with a tentative ranking system for myself. Couple things: 1) I am based in the US so I ranked US exchanges the highest since I have legal recourse here, your ranking will likely be different depending where you live, 2) Several exchanges have addresses in two countries and I haven't had time to figure out where they are truly based yet, 3) I am interested in LTC/PPC and other alt coins so BTC only exchanges don't do me much good, and 4) I take volume into account because you really can't invest significant amounts without volume. With that in mind, here is a very tentative list from my perspective, any additional info/corrections would be appreciated:

1. Cryptsy: Florida USA, most crypto currencies, volume seems high enough (I think)
2. Crypto Street: New Jersey USA, many cryptos but low volume currently
3. Coin Market: California USA, most cryptos but low volume currently
4. LiteTree: BTC/LTC only, Atlanta USA, not much volume currently
5. Campbx: Atlanta USA, but BTC only, volume is good enough
6. Coinbase: California USA, BTC only, has had problems with liquidity recently
7. Bitstamp: BTC only, I've seen addresses for the UK and Slovenia, good volume
8. Crypto-Trade: most cryptos, good volume, address in Hong Kong but the company is registered in Belize?
9. Bifinex: Hong Kong

Others that are so far down the list I won't bother ranking them:

mcxNOW: New signups disabled, most trading halted (this can't be good)
BTC-e: most cryptos, I've seen addresses in Russia (at least one of which is fake) and Bulgaria, I currently have $35k missing
MtGox: Japan, no way to get USD out from the US, has had huge problems with withdrawals & responding to people in the past. I hear it's good for those outside the US though.
Vircurex: Beijing
There are quite a few other exchanges I've never heard of (including 6 in China that I wouldn't trust due to lack of legal recourse), and I'm guessing the others are relatively new and simply don't have the volume needed to invest more than small amounts, but I'll keep researching them.

traderCJ - I agree, the responsiveness of all the exchanges seem to go down when prices spike as they are overwhelmed with new accounts, funds, and support issues. I just hope this is the case vs. them trying to steal it. I will keep writing them in Russian - is there anywhere else I should post this to get their attention? On this forum or others? Or how about social media (fb, twitter, etc.)?

nice work gmoneyjive - one thing to add - Check those companies through the BBB, see if any complaints have been lodged.
I know some are in there, so you might want to re-rank ....
51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-e - £1500 Stolen on: November 30, 2013, 10:29:39 PM
That's a great idea, but I have a feeling that it will indeed be just a mailing address. The company, if I read it correctly, is based in Bulgaria.

Another 24 hours have passed, and there no response for my ticket (as expected actually). I was wondering if writing them in Russian was really such a good idea, perhaps in stead of making things easier, I might have offended the folks where.

Right now I'm just counting my blessings, things could have be much worse if I had tens of thousands stuck...

stevel2000 -
when/if you feel such action is warranted, help those in the same boat to lower their trust here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=33012

I notice their postings are marked in red now. Not much else can be done, except to also write the editors of news feeds for the
community, like coindesk, asking them to publish something about BTC-e selectively scamming
52  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING: Do not wire money to BTC-e. on: November 30, 2013, 06:40:59 PM
I have read several such posts...yet, I just had wired 1000euros and in 6 days al was verified and everything is working a-okay.
Just bought BTC and LTC...haven't cashed out yet.

So...maybe the system has just flaws?
I've also read a lot of stories like mine, where everything seems to be just OKAY.

Sooo....I don't know what to make of it.

Tschai - have you attempted to make any withdrawals? There are plenty of accounts of people trying to withdraw
and their troubles start there.
Please let us know, if you get a chance
53  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: November 30, 2013, 08:21:41 AM
Yes , please look at my ticket #ZHX-543-69585 . It past 19 days since I made a wire

But, I have no illusions that he will respond. I sent and PM also but nothing, effectively ignored

55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $35000 USD missing at BTC-e.com and they won't respond on: November 30, 2013, 05:53:57 AM
Thanks, I just submitted in Russian, we'll see if that gets a response. I like bitstamp but they only do BTC and I'm also investing in LTC & PPC. I'll be researching other exchanges over the next few days, but right now my top priority is to get btc-e to respond if at all possible.

gmoneyjive, you are one of many.

Then drop a line to news at coindesk, maybe someone will realize these BTC-e guys are running Ponzi with our money.

Or maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who finally sees their money show up. They are selectively scamming,
you may have hit the wrong side of that jackpot.

I'm also sorry for your loss.

Can you elaborate on what OS you used?
It does sound as if your own machine could be the issue.
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-e - £1500 Stolen on: November 28, 2013, 08:50:59 PM
Who did you wire the money to? Was it Mayzus Financial Services Ltd in the UK? Contact them and tell them you will be holding them responsible. Report them to uk financial watchdog and issue a county court judgement against Nikolay Rozhok/Mayzus Financial Services Ltd

This is taken from the BTC-E.COM website....

Beneficiary:   Mayzus Financial Services Ltd
Beneficiary Address:   869 High Road, London, N12 8QA, UK
Beneficiary Account:   4030200327
Beneficiary Czech Bank Code:   7910
Beneficiary IBAN:   CZ6979100000004030200327
Beneficiary Bank:   Deutsche Bank AG
Beneficiary Bank Address:   Jungmannova 34, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic
Beneficiary Bank SWIFT:   DEUTCZPX
Details of Payment:   FFC ACC.9311.23440 ACC ID S188171E
Fee:   1% (min fee 20$)
Min sum allowed:   2000$
Our bank may ask your documents due to a high fraud activity. If you seen in your btc-e account a money hold please provide a copy of you ID and utility bill in high res quality (>300DPI), create ticket with your ID in subject at https://hdbtce.kayako.com and upload your docs inside

Details of Payment is required field.
Without correct Details of Payment we can't credit money to your account.
Funds will be credited within 3-7 days.

SO they got a UK limited company with a German bank account and a Czech Republic mailing address. They state on the website "OUR BANK" so you take screenshots of that and thats enough proof that you are under the impression that BTC-E.COM is a trading style of Mayzus Financial Services Ltd and they are responsible for the debt. You can sue this UK limited company at least with a County Court Judgement which is cheap to do.

I think they dont want this selective scamming scheme to finish yet so chances are they will pay you if you make a big enough fuss to this "company"

Excellent nomenclature -> 'selective scamming scheme'
If you have not already, go here and work to lower their trust, several other have:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=33012

And read the last few pages here:

59  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: November 28, 2013, 08:08:03 PM
They are stealing from us, LTC is only going up and now my 2 LTC are worth $92, that's alot for me. I will be filing a complaint with The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) very shortly , not sure how much could it do with BTC or LTC but I can't sit around and do nothing.

http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx in case anyone else wants too

To reiterate,
to keep this thread up to date:
BTC-e is a FRAUD.
Do not wire them any money, they will send you on a goosechase claiming they did not receive it.
Do not transfer any coins to them, they will not let you withdraw it,
even if you hit their 'lucky' random number and become one of the few whose money is credited to your BTC-e acct.

If you are one of the BTC-e casualties, DO GO HERE:
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=33012

figure out, like tom101222 did, how much they cost you and act accordingly.

DO initiate chargebacks and request SWIFT confirmations - I believe the endpoint bank to be
Deutche Bank. The German gov has recognized BTc as a legitimate currency, lets try to raise a stink.

I agree with tom101222 and will also go here and see what I can do.
http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

I do not know of any other arbitrage sites with any more trust than btc-e. Sites are springing up like
mushrooms, this forum gives me hope.
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-e - £1500 Stolen on: November 28, 2013, 07:44:44 PM
When requesting a chargeback with my bank is it a good idea to mention the payment was for cryptocurrency? I ask because most banks have a very negative attitude towards Bitcoin.

EDIT: Looks like chargebacks are not possible from the UK for bank transfers, only credit cards.

I really don't think that is any of their business. It was your money.
And you may be paying the bank a fee, I don't know how yours will work.
The transaction was for 'goods not received',
try leaving it at that.
