How is this possible ?

                                 Kh/s      XMG/Day
1   XMH_Hero           41,035   57.209       0.00186273
2   anonymous         16,928    23.600       0.00076842

What don't you understand?

How a single person can do 41 Mh/s on a pool ?

Lots of computers. Either a botnet, or they work in a hosting company or such. With access to thousands of computers, you can get that much mining power, and still have the CPU and electric usage hidden "in the noise".

Orphaned blocks on mining is skyrocketing. What happened?
 Huh Huh Huh

Apparently another bug. At least the block rewards are up, even if the blocks aren't real Huh

I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

This just showed up on my Windows defender report on my wallet program:
Trojan:Win32/Cloxer.D!cl

Never seen that before. Have you?

Probably a false positive, and almost definitely not related to the current problem.

I've been mining XMG since just before the December fork, and while I had hoped the payouts would go up sometime it's a month and a half later with no improvement.

Currently got 4 machines running at 60% and that's earning me .2 XMG per day (20¢). It's just not worth it when I can just take the money I'm burning in electricity and buy some on an exchange...

Anyway, I'll check in, because I wish you best of luck. I still think it's a great concept... just not working out for me I guess.

R.

I’m legitimately shocked that the network hashrate has stayed this high. I have no idea why the whales continue to mine XMG... I make so much more money with other coins.  They must be brain dead.

Any rational sense would make you think they'd stop if they were making no or little profit.
any chance you think this could be botnet or mined in browser as background process like a lot of sites are doing these days, would make sense for such a high hashrate that only seems to be climbing, i dont think any whale could mine this with their own hardware and offset the electricity costs with how much the block reward is, but for anyone with stolen hash, but not enough to compete in btc, or xmr, something like magi would be the perfect one to apply it to.

Both are very good possibilities. The other is someone at a large school system or hosting company. However you get it, free computers + free electric = 100% profit.

LOL i wish. But yeah sorry mate i maybe not on the speed limiting pools, i'm on minerclaim (feel free to look me up) but i'm obeying the limits that other pools are using. My total hashes doesnt exceed 265kh total. my average hash rate is 242kh (currently doing 237). Sorry mate you got the info wrong there. unlike one people who i wont mention he is doing 1000kh on minerclaim.

Go ahead and mention, I've given my hashrate earlier in this thread. And would not be using the same name as I do on this forum if I wanted to hide my activity.

I'll speak my peace a bit more clearly this time. Your constant crying isn't going to slow anyone down.  By constantly posting your repetitive complaints you are just reducing the signal-to-noise ratio in this thread. If you've got a better idea for a coin, please release it. You can call  it "Crybaby Coin". Otherwise, could you please STFU!

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: January 08, 2018, 05:19:13 PM
the whole point these pools are trying to help magi!!!!!!

other pool arent. and really its time for the developers to step in and do something about this.

Developers. cant you see how annoyed everyone is getting with this. Atleast we got pools who a trying to help your coin.

Now its your turn to do something

this is amid at you 111magic and joe! Especially 111magic who is actively avoiding any of this and answering trivial comments.

if the pools and the developers actually joined forces it isnt hard to do changes where by only registered pools are allowed on the magi network and allow miners to mine
then that way the pools can help enforce the limitations and everyone can actually fairly mine and earn which in turns boosts the magi network and its rank in the market and earnings for all.

Then for solo miners the only way to mine is through the wallet but have a hard code limit set in the wallet that way it reduces the the load on the network.

It isnt rocket science guys!!! theses changes arent too hard to integrate

by doing this it helps can take care of the network and stop this from happening again and protects the network from outside influence, etc.

and you know what this always does? it brings the community closer and empowers the magi coin further

if you cant see any of what i said you either dont care or are blinder then me who has 10% sight!!!!

this is my challenge to you 111magic and joe and the rest of the developers and the pools and for the community. Do we want to protect our coin or do want it say F**k IT and let the whalers take control!!!???

Your constant crying isn't helping anything. And your ideas to limit hashrate won't work. Making mining possible only through wallet sounds good at 1st, but think about it intelligently. 10 Mh is not 1 machine, it is probably over 100. So the person just runs a wallet on each machine and has a script to send all the coins to 1 address every few days.

There is only 1 method that would work. All miners would need to be registered to mine. Identify would need to be verified to register by using legal ID, kinda like bittrex. You want to mine like that? I sure don't.

If you really think you know how to make a "fair" coin, make your own. I'll be happy to mine it.

Need Spanish translation?

Sorry for the bad English. Could you answer the question?

Very doubtful. I've got 18 6-core Opterons @ 2.4Ghz and I get about 12-15 coins on most days. A Pi or an Android ain't gonna get much.

What's your hashrate with this?

About 1 megahash total.

Well, if 18 6-core Opterons run with 1000 KH/s, each one of them should run with ~56 KH/s. It's ten times my Pi3 hashrate (5.6 KH/s).

If you make 15 coins in a day, each 6-core Opteron should make 0.8 XMG. I made ~0.09 XMG with my Pi3 in my first day mining. Your numbers are consistent with my results and the guy's video seems to be very unrealistic. Big thanks!

Check the videos date. If it's a few years old, it could be quite accurate.

BTW, about mining with a Pi. Make sure you add a heatsink and check cpu temp with command "/opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd measure_temp" (without quotes) every few minutes for the 1st hour or so. Otherwise you may end up with burnt PI.

What about reward, is it still 30% of usual?

They go back to what they were at a certain block number.  I cant recall offhand, but its in the post from Joe about the new wallet.

"The follow changes were made with hard forks scheduled to take effect:

0. Sync checkpoint & master server: currently rebuilding blockchain
1. PoW & PoS checking starting at 1481500 (around this Friday night EST)
2. Difficulty adjustment starting at 1482000 (around this Saturday morning EST)
3. Protocol version: 71062, prior version to 71062 shall be disconnected
4. End maintenance mode height: 1481500 (PoW / PoS block reward back to normal)"

Hi, I'm tying to solo mine with a few computers on my local network. How do I know if the wallet is receiving the hashes?

Fix is bogus! I've got 513 coins now, had over 1500 before this crash. They were all from over a year ago, long before this fiasco occurred. Appreciate the fast fix, but apparently errors slipped by due to the rush.

getting a mingw assertion error when trying to open the new wallet, anyone else?

Yes, I had this exact same problem.

I went into C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Magi and deleted the blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat files, and then deleted the contents of the "database" folder. Now restart the wallet and the error no longer occurs. Mine is still in the process of synchronizing, so I can't say 100% for sure that it fixes it, but I believe it does.

One thing to be very careful of, whatever you do, DO NOT DELETE THE WALLET.DAT FILE! If you delete that file and you do not have a backup copy, all of your coins will be lost. No, I did not learn that by doing it :-)

he keeps deleting my posts too  Roll Eyes

Yeah, I called it a quasi-hoax back in March, got my post deleted, seems like I was on the right trail eh? Tongue

He was insulted by you calling his project a quasi-hoax. It was a full-blown scam, and he wants all the credit that he deserves.

Seriously, read the last 50 pages or so of the thread at https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2702 . We've got nothing from him but lies and empty promises. And now he will no longer be bothered even giving us that much. Whatever you do, do not trust this man or any project he is involved in in any way whatsoever.
57  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Butterfly Labs closing down ? on: September 19, 2014, 09:40:15 PM
I can't believe they didn't close down a long time ago, either by legal action or because they were the scene of a mass shooting. Their actions were certainly deserving of both of those possible outcomes.
58  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why aren't AMD, Intel, Nvidia, etc. interested in ASICs? on: April 14, 2014, 03:34:00 AM
Also the OP suggests they have the 1 resources, 2 ability to design, and 3 infrastructure to create an ASIC chip or finished product. That's seems like a far fetched assumption to me.

Just my 2 satoshis.

You're kidding, aren't you? All 3 of those companies have 1, 2, and 3. I'd say it's an uncertain market, that's definitely 1 reason the majors don't get involved. Also market size. AMD and nVidia might have a little interest, if they were sure the market would last a few years. Intel would consider the market way too small, even if they could have 100% of both sha256 & sCrypt sales. They probably make way more on just their LAN chipsets.

ASICs will be the realm of small, fly-by-night companies for quite some time. Notice how quick the prices drop? What successful company wants that?
59  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 Water Cooling on: April 09, 2014, 03:18:35 AM
A set of water cooling parts may sell around 0.26BTC~0.3BTC. (Include delivery fee worldwide)

A chunk of aluminum is much cheaper, and I've got a CNC mill Grin
60  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 Water Cooling on: April 08, 2014, 01:31:29 AM
And wear gloves. Seriously.

Never! Any machinist with even half a brain will not wear gloves. Gloves are very tough, they get caught in the cutter your fucked.

The idea of water cooling an antminer may be a good one, but only if you put the radiator outside, or use well water and discharge it back into the ground. You could also use water from a stream or pond on your property. Just to get the heat out of the building, especially if you're running a few KW of mining equipment.

I would use 6063 aluminum alloy or similar, failure from corrosion would take much longer than an antminer will be worth running, unless your pumping saltwater through it.
