43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM ALERT] ***********EMUNIE - CAUTION ADVISED************* on: February 01, 2014, 05:48:49 PM
If you don't already know, xxxxxxxx Street is a fake address often used by scam companies to make it look like they have a legit business address. I believe it costs about £50 a year to get a mail redirect going from this address. BIG RED FLAG

<enters>
I wouldn't normally bother to post on something like this but to be fair and objective about this, it's a real address not fake one. You are just claiming that because Emunie doesn't physically reside there that this is in someway a red flag.

It is not uncommon practice for Limited companies to have their registered and company address as either a forwarder service, such as the one you are saying this is, or even just the address of an accountant.  This is very common practice for businesses which operate virtual, geographically distributed, organizations or home workers. So in itself doesn't actually infer anything of significance.

But I didn't make it.  I don't think he's trying to glom any of StableCoin's fame, though.  It's based on his name.
I don't think Stablecoin has anything to worry about  Wink
I was just trying to give a helpful hint to the dev/OP in case he didn't know as the content of the OP didn't look too informed in general.  This isn't a thread I'm going to be following past the next 30 seconds!
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] *SBC* SebuhCoin Now Launching! 2/1/2014 - BTC Clone - Sha256 - Lazy Devs on: February 01, 2014, 05:06:58 PM
That's not really a hard rule.  There's nothing that says coins won't have overlapping shortened names.  They're bound to, as time marches on.  Exchanges have both long and short names, typically.  So no real problem.

Sebuh is backed by a computer store and printing shop in California...tentatively  =P

Don't get me wrong, not saying there are any rules around this.  It's just quite a lot of people do searches based on short code on here and elsewhere, just might make a new coin harder to find if it decides to start with a short code that is already in use. That's exactly how I found this thread in the first place, I was searching on SBC for Stablecoin!

0.00000001 SEB is the smallest unit of currency possible, I think.   Shocked Grin Shocked

I see from one of the posts above someone actually refers to 0.00000000x SEB, so may be the wallet calls them SEB, in which case it would be sensible to use that in the thread title.

It's a free world (mostly) so people can do what they like, just a friendly suggestion  Smiley

......but of course it will end up getting all too confusing for everyone as out of all the letter combos available you've attempted to pick one that in your thread title and OP is used by a coin already  Grin

So when the masses circle around the high value coingen coin and decide to go buy some they will of course be buying the well established coin thats already on exchanges with the same SBC short code.  Looking forward to the massive demand for Stablecoin  Grin

SBC = Stablecoin which is already on 3 exchanges (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349198.0)

Good luck with that.

As everyone seems to be in request mode.

If one vote:
SBC/BTC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349198.0
On 3 exchanges already but community is always looking to grow  Grin

If two votes:
MONA/BTC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=392436.0
Similar thoughts as request someone made earlier for Applecoin. There still don't seem to be any exchanges outside Japan for Mona last time I checked. Be good for a european exchange to make the first move on this.

Sympathy vote:

May be getting this on an exchange would give the developer a kick-into-action and the community would start doing more for themselves. I only mention this one as I have seen some of their threads. Perhaps give them a trial period of it on the exchange and remove it if it doesn't give you many transactions and the community doesn't spring into life. Not being on an exchange seems to be the excuse, give them a try and then it's in their own hands.

Anybody interested in using this for a NYAN related project, business or service?

Could use subdomains on it to create ****.nyan.co.in for games, blogs, forums, etc etc

Available to transfer to your free Godaddy account.

PM any offers in BTC
50  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [DOMAIN] [WTS] bitcoin.pn bitcoins.pn btc.pn coin.pn & others on: February 01, 2014, 08:27:55 AM
May be misunderstanding this, but are renewals for .pn extension domains really $200 a year?

Hi CryptoNames, no not $200 a year.

They are US$100 a year if paid annually, US$10 per month if paid monthly.

Not US$5-10/year type domains, so not suited for use with really low value keywords. For the better keywords which are more likely to attract a premium then it's at a price point that works for anyone delivering a decent value service via the domain.

That's why I've only got what I think are high value crypto domains that I feel have multiple potential development options. Examples of which I outlined in the OP. So if a planned development doesn't work out there are other reasonable uses that the same domain can be put to. So not the type of domain you register just to camp out, you have to have some confidence that there are decent development options which is what I've done.

For reference, some of the bigger domains through there are using it as a url shortener for their brand as well; ESPN (es.pn) and GroupOn (gr.pn) as a couple of examples.

The .pn usage for the Panem (THG) relationship is something that is in live use for their associated fan site. Interestingly, 'coins' appears to be the only reference to currency made in the books from what my limited research time has allowed.  So for any fan related project these may work well around that theme in addition to it being the surname of one of the major characters.  Third film in the trilogy is yet to be release so there will be some continued buzz around that for a while to come in addition to the book fan base.

Unless someone decides to make me a decent offer for the lot then I'm hoping to get something for one or more of the domains and use what I get to help fund development of the remaining ones.

The Mac wallet seems totally bust.

Doesn't even launch, it just crashes immediately. (Mac OS/X 10.6)

FWIW seems ok on 10.9.1

Thanks Cryptonames.  Reworked OP and given some specific ideas for development potential.

May just be me but that animated logo on the OP and on the Coino forum causes Safari 7.0.1 on OSX Mavericks to generate errors and kills page.  Might want to compatibility check it in case it affects others and some people give up trying to view.  Works fine with Chrome on OSX though.

Anyone have a suggestion on another place I could list this? Any advice welcome.

Take a look at something like sedo.com to see what's out there.

Although having just done a whois lookup the .com it's on Godaddy registrar? If so try Godaddy Auctions as an easy starter.

Suggest you check some sold domain prices or current auction listings on sites like GoDaddy Auctions, Sedo or similar.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZEU - ZeusCoin - New PoW coin with random blocks | No Premine on: January 25, 2014, 12:34:43 PM
exchange?

How many of the following does the Zeus community have or are working actively to put in place?
- dedicated local forum and community
- integration with third-party payment processes
- individual web sites/services that allow ZEU to be used
- active community projects looking to move things forward in whatever way they can
- ideas or concepts to extend the functionality and features of the coin

Relying on giveaways on here and just mining to look for a sell on exchanges will mean a long and tough ride. If you don't hit an exchange early after launch when more people are paying attention then the community needs to generate attention. Even more so these days with new launches almost hourly.

Get things moving and active and exchanges will pay more attention. If not it will stay exactly where it is.
