61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: January 25, 2014, 11:18:47 AM
Thanks for the advice. I'm actually planning on abandoning everything coin-related for a few months, because watching the prices makes me go nuts, exactly as you said. Grin

Perhaps someone can find a good therapist who accepts SBC for those that don't make it through the other side  Grin   Word association test SBC --> Hold
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: January 25, 2014, 11:09:03 AM
I just bought over 2.5k @6010 satoshi (spending all of my BTC) and the price now fell down to 5460 satoshi.
Damn.
Typical example of my luck.

Short term fluctuations and low volumes, unless that 2.5k represents your life savings don't worry be back up again soon Wink You'll go nuts if you watch prices minute to minute.

So yes, something is being done. Hold onto those coins

Someone didn't take your advice, they just dumped 18k on Cryptsy
64  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Domain set - www.cryflip.com (also .net/.org/.info) on: January 24, 2014, 07:05:37 AM
Hi,

I have managed to misspell the title :/

The domains are crypflip. Not cryflip :/

And yes, I would see the name being used for an exchange possibly, or a switching pool.

Now to try to edit that title...

Rit

Sure, spelling the domain name incorrectly won't help any Wink

At risk of going slight off topic another observation for you, if you take the words you used above^^ to describe the your vision & intent, then a higher value domain for that target would have some of those words in it. Examples might be cryptoswitcher.com , cryptoswitching.com, switcherpool.com

All three of those are still unregistered BTW, so if I were a buyer looking for something to fit the intent you describe for my business or project then I would rather spend US$10 * 3 = US$30 on registering those three domains than paying 2-3 BTC for the one you have listed. Unless of course I absolutely had to have the 'flip' concept in my branding in which case I'd probably find similar unregistered domains. You could of course register those other three yourself right now  Wink

Not trying to be clever, just providing feedback as you requested. Domains scoring valuations in multiple BTC range are more likely to be single keywords or phrases that someone just has to have as nothing else will work for them.
65  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 4K.com (since 1996) for sale. Auction starting at 40 BTC. on: January 23, 2014, 09:59:29 PM
Now that's going to need escrow!
66  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Domain set - www.cryflip.com (also .net/.org/.info) on: January 23, 2014, 09:26:51 PM
Open question:

Would 3 BTC be too much to ask? Same question for 2 BTC.

Opinions/ideas/offers/flames/random comments all welcome Grin

Rit./

I will try and give you some constructive feedback. I'll leave others to take a view on value of this specific domain/s but needless to say 2-3 BTC is a lot of money. Yes domains sell for that level but anything at that level needs to have strong branding potential or relate to high value concepts, topics & keywords already in use for its target audience.

As feedback, issue will be cry and flip as words don't match well with the target audience and searches if this is aimed at a bitcoin related product, service or business. cry is a very short truncation of crypto or cryptographic, possibly too short for most search assumptions and the fact it is a word in its own right with a very different meaning won't help either. flip doesn't have a strong word association, I know you can 'flip' something by quick buy-sell trading but that might be too weak an association.  Short domain name (7 characters) is better than many you see on here and .com never hurts.

What is you vision for the usage of this name?  It normally helps to given an indication of potential uses unless it is very obvious to all.

Hope that is viewed as useful and helpful feedback to your request. Disclaimer: only my view and I may have read it all wrong and assumed a specific target audience just because its posted on here.

Great link, thanks for sharing that. Will watch with interest to see how quickly it starts to fill up!

It sorts itself out after a while, very laggy at the moment but catches up.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: January 20, 2014, 06:01:59 PM
I understand wanting to get more updates, but Artos has done quite well in this regard.  When the fork from 1.3 to 1.4 didn't end well, we had another fork to 1.5 that solved the issues within a day or two.  He seems to be all in it this go around and I have faith that he will come through.  The mixing service must be a daunting task to undertake and just like you, I understand that it will make or break this coin, but I can say that everyone getting their pitchforks and torches out in the thread would not motivate me to go any faster.  Just my .02  Wink

FWIW this is where I am as well.

@scooby903 - for some reason that avatar of yours still makes me smile even after all this time  Smiley

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: January 17, 2014, 09:43:09 PM
The volume is less then .2% of the overall float which indicates that 99.8% of the coins held are very content (at least for now) in holding out for a better price. You really cannot take the price on cryptsy as overall market sentiment right now, the volume is too low.

Low volume indicates an overall willingness to wait for Artos, as we are waiting on the announcement of the coin mixing beta.

Till then, strong hands that are not willing to sell will continue to mine and obtain coins for very small amounts. It may take another month or 2 for the coin mixing to be fully implemented. SBC will float rather low until that happens.

If you cannot wait that long then it might be good to sell, or you can try and get cheap or cheaper coins.

^^^Better summary than I typed  Wink
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: January 17, 2014, 09:20:01 PM
You think this indicates that someone in the know expects something big soon?

Don't think so, just what Scooby and Ximp were saying. More people getting to the point where they are unsure if they want to hold given price trend of last week or two. Graphic I saw might also have been exaggerated on screen by way Cryptsy scales graphs sometimes, it seems to look much more reasonable on screen now. Wish I'd taken a screenshot.

In general, without any extensive analysis, it looks like there a few bigger trades happening. Not massive in overall scale of things but more than the dribble of 1-10 SBC type transactions that have been the norm. Those smaller ones are probably miners doing auto-sell or similar.

That said, pretty low volumes overall, so I'd assume most people are still in a hold position and may be doing slow accumulates if they still feel comfortable.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: January 17, 2014, 07:53:19 PM
This is what is referred to as weak hands getting weaker and strong hands getting stronger.  I've seen this play out many times  Cheesy

^^^^^which is totally reflected in the current SBC Depth graph on Cryptsy! Small group of green buys way over on left, big sea of red sells over the rest of the graph area. Not seen it that polarized before.
74  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Coin Ticker - new cryptocurrency and bitcoin stock ticker [Free iOS App] on: January 16, 2014, 07:09:16 PM
The brand-new Coin Ticker 2.0 is now available on App Store!

Looking good, very pleased with the update Smiley

Are you taking coin requests for the next update? Dropped you a suggestion before but guess it's not made it to the top of the list yet.  Sad

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [Second Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 12, 2014, 07:56:23 PM
I'll finally admit that I took all the investors money and tried to blame it on the Chinese Devs. This is the whole story, I was contacted by Chinese Devs on New Years about Shares. It seemed all legit and they sent me the Client and everything and they wanted me to post it . So I did and posted a Bitcoin Wallet that was in control by me and the Chinese Devs. Eventually after I saw all the money piling up I kinda got greedy. I said WOW look at all this money that I could have!!! So I devised a plan to steal the BTC and blame it on the Chinese Devs. Now knowing what I have done is big which could send me to Jail, I started to send out refunds to everyone. At First I had good intentions but after seeing how much money investors were throwing at Shares I got greedy. I'm still sending out refunds and only have a few btc left to give out. I'm sincerely sorry and once this is all done I will be gone off the forums for ever.

Please also pass across the domain I donated to the Frozen community to those still active on it before going. I've not any issue on the SHS thread as wasn't involved in any way but seeing as you are doing the right thing please help the Frozen guys out as well in the spirit of the donation I made to you. Thanks.

Well maybe he should not announce the beta mixing service until it is ready.

I don't think he did! The announcement just asked for testers, it didn't say it was launching instantly. In fact the wording in the sign-up thread is

"This thread will be used to collect a list of individuals who are interested in beta testing the mixing feature of StableCoin when it is ready"

Nothing more, nothing less.  I bet there are some who jumped on this announcement for mining and want to jump out just as quick when launched.

Why on earth create a new coin with a name the same or similar to one that already exists and also use the same 3 character ticker code as it?  Crazy idea given if you are actually trying to create a genuine new coin and want to invest time and effort in building it's profile why would you want any confusion?

Good luck but seems strange move to me!

i think you can see more then first 3 character)) otherwise you can mine doge and "other" sctypt-shit clones (sory for my tone) or invest in scam IPO "coins". ok, what can you say about other 95% of new coin without innovation on this forum? i try do something new in developing cryptocurrency community, yes maybe i am wrong somewhere and my contribution to this development will be very small, but in general i belive my little contribution will help to developing cryptocurrency  for the better ...

I think you've misread what I've actually written and taken offence when it wasn't intended. I wasn't saying you'd done anything wrong or comparing to other coins.

I was simply stating that the QBT ticker code, as you've shown yourself in your own thread title, and coin name had already been used elsewhere in the past. Therefore, if you wanted to get the best result for your coin launch you may want to consider that in case it causes confusion further down the line. That's all I was saying.
