So I guess without the bots/fake account, the network may have shrunk over the last couple epochs. That is a little concerning, but I am glad we have figured out a fix now.

Where did you saw that network shrunk?

I don't see any real way of preventing one person from opening ten accounts if they have ten computers and are quick at jumping from one computer to another.

First part of validation is called short session. It lasts 1 minute 45 seconds. During that time you need to solve 6 flips. If you get easy flips and if you are fast in solving them, you can solve 4 validations max.
Yes, there are people who are running multiple accounts. They are invested in project just from profit perspective, they don't see long term benefits. Yes you can run multiple accounts, but that has it's downsides and people will only realize them later on. To attain Human status, you need above 92% score. When you run multiple accounts you get stressed out during validation, your judgment will fail and will not solve flips good as you will rush things. When you get more complicated flips, your score will suffer and you will fail at validation. And in the longterm, having Human account is what benefits people the most. Some future governance platform can set rule where it can say that they accept only votes from Human status Identity.

What if they have two computers? Ten computers? What if they own an internet cafe in a poor neighborhood, sort of like what broke neucoin.

Did you try to validate yourself?

This notification appeared when I started to shift the Delegation button to active mode, so what should be avoided so that we can still get maximum income from IDENA mining?
It's there to warn you that you should not delegate mining to the node that you don't trust fully.

Regarding previous discussion, how did you guys manage to missunderstand Abvdksfjkfjk guy? He was talking about psychology effect that you can have by presenting certain type project (invitation based) to certain people.

In other news. EDM made Idena promo video, check it out  Shocked

8 ) Is there anybody who knows the identity of anybody on the dev team?

The basic idea of the coin is definitely the next step in crypto. Human mining can lead to fair distribution and work based distribution in the future. Maybe not with this coin, since almost 30% of coins seem to be distributed already, but if this coin is done well it will pave the way.

I bought some, and support the coin as best I can.

8 ) Is there anybody who knows the identity of anybody on the dev team?
Not that I'm aware of. During the last year of communicating with them either directly on Telegram, or just by reading their articles, there was nothing fishy or unprofessional. That is just my impression of them.

Coins supply is uncapped, so I see current distribution, only as that, current situation that will change over time.

Coins emission:
Block reward: 6 iDNA
Blocks per minute: 3
Maximum number of blocks per day: 4,320
Mining cap per day: 25,920 iDNA (50%)
Accumulating fund per day for validation session: 25,920 iDNA (50%)
Total daily emmision: 51,840 iDNA

I just found out about this coin, and bought some, and have some questions, sorry if the answers are covered elsewhere or if they are dumb questions.

1) Is there anything done by the humans on the network aside from capcha type solving?
Capcha making aka flip creation. Voting on oracles.

2) If not, do you have any plans to develop the algorithm to do other work?
Ads are comming so people will be able to do that too.

3) Is the coding open source? Or a mix of open and other?
Open source https://github.com/idena-network/

4) Your block explorer https://scan.idena.io/#topaddress says 42,608,000 coins roughly, of which greater than 30,000,000 are in ten addresses and most of the rest in a few dozen more addresses. Who controls the ten largest addresses?
See more on circulation page, and read Idena community report for details in the bottom link
https://scan.idena.io/circulation

5) In the 'online miners' tab there are 7154 listed. First some which say 'last seen recently', then some that say 'last seen 10 minutes' then more that say 'last seen recently'. And the page says '5724 online miners'. Do you have more than 5,000 people mining at a given moment, or is that for the past day or other amount of time?
7154 is total number of validated identities that can mine if they want. 5724 is number of people that are mining at the moment. Any answer other than that is currently too complicated.

6) Is your blockchain amenable to regular explorers? If Fairglu wanted to put an idena explorer at chainz.cryptoid.info could he easily do it?
Idena Explorer works using an public API. As far as I see, all info that chainz.cryptoid.info needs can be pulled by API in one way or other.

7) Are there any explorers online not controlled by the dev team?

One more Idena node is included on my home network. a completely different computer, no VPS, VM... just clear OS (win 7).
It's connected to the same internet connection, the same IP. mining is ON.

Why my first default node (my personal computer) have a regular mining reward, and everything is fine but on this win7 mining reward is 4x smaller.
For example, node1 rewarded with 60IDNA for 15 days but node2 just 30iDNA in the last 30 days.

does this mean that two nodes cannot work on one IP address?

It has nothing to do with same IP address. You need to calculate Balance + Locked + Stake, not just Balance.

This has been asked so many times before but I cannot access information about nodes right now, I cannot connect my wallet there are no nodes, I have deleted my idena application download the latest version but I still do not have nodes running, how can I fix this?

From here: %appdata%\Idena\node\datadir, delete folders "idenachain.db" and "ipfs"
From here: %appdata%\Idena, delete all .json files
and restart PC

Also check if your antivirus has blocked Idena in any way.

I intend to invite my friend to participate in the validation at the next epoch, but my friend does not have a laptop to do IDENA Validation like I do usually. Waiting for the developer to release the "Web client for mobile" feature seems to be taking a while. Although now we can use Google Chrome on Android, the display is very unfriendly for smartphone users with a 5.5 inch screen, it is even difficult to display the entire web page, including some buttons.

I would recomend your friend to use Web App but he must turn on "Desktop Site" option in browser, Firefox or Chrome are working fine. Some users had problem with Brave browser.
When "Desktop Site" option is turned on, you can pinch and zoom so you see all buttons and you can pass validation. Visibility of flips in short session is great. Take a look at video showing how short session looks. Buttons are smaller, but I don't think it's to much problem to click on them.

how much idena do you make per day while mining? I can't find it on idena.site

There is info about mining reward per epoch. So per day would be, that amount divided by epoch days.

$13.5 / 19 days = $0.71

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: April 19, 2021, 10:34:34 PM
why always synchronizing blocks mining idena by RDP ? it's never happen like this, can someone give me solution ? after validation at april 17 synchronizing blocks need long time

When you say RDP, most of the time that means Windows Server OS + Idena Desktop App + Idena node. On a 2GB ram Virtual Private Server.

Windows Server needs minimum 2GB ram just to work without any programs installed.
Idena Desktop App needs 300-500MB
Idena Node needs 1.5-2GB on validation day

It can not work on a 2GB. Minimum is 4GB of RAM.

People who are running nodes on a low hardware are making problems for their self and others, because their node go offline during validation so they fail validation. And other people who were supposed to get their flips, flips don't get loaded.

I have started discussion about this issue, I hope we can somehow improve current situation

Well, good validation today.

Wolf allready had same issue. Said on the Dekstop App, flips were sent without problem.

He opened up an issue on github so devs are aware of it for future versions

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: April 16, 2021, 10:04:24 AM
Then, how do I get my nodekey?
My plan is, after successful validation I want to install a node on a Linux VPS and activate mining status, I'll use idena-manager, of course I need nodekey, right?

You can import your key in settings page of Desktop App, only if you use built-in node. That will get you a private key in nodekey file.
Downside is, it will restart node synchronization that way.

Other, faster way is to decrypt your key using Mahmoud's tool.
Link is on idena.site > Tools > Decrypt...

A few minutes ago I opened my Idena account via the web, apparently the marketplace feature for the Shared node has been released. The question is,
- Who can buy and sell API Keys?
- Is there a special policy for Candidate? AFAIK they don't have 1 IDNA for new users

As this is in the middle of the epoch implementation. Not validated are greeted with this screen.
They can activate invitation and get free access to dev shared node.

For Candidates (people who have activated invitation prior to shared node marketplace), situation is like this

But in next epoch. If you are new and want to use for free, you must activate invite it in Web App to get access to free shared node.
Maybe this will change and Candidates will also gain access to free node. We'll see.

I will provide 1 additional free node for candidates. Will post details later on.

Is there a possibility that the shared node operator will steal private key data from other people who use their shared node services?

Private key you use to login to Web App, does not leave your browser (client side). Web App uses it to sign RawTX's and forward it to shared node. Shared node does not come in contact with private keys.

Why would developers make something that would compromise users private keys?

Idena now has Docs page
https://docs.idena.io/

Among other things, we can find roadmap there:

does anyone know why it keeps popping up to me check-in my local time warning? Even if everything okay, I pass successfully validation, but this is a little boring and every time I need to check it.

Install free program that will keep your OS time in sync
http://www.timesynctool.com/NetTimeSetup-314.exe

Also check that you have your "Auto Daylight savings" setting checked
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: March 29, 2021, 01:32:27 PM
We still need official pancake listing from pancake team.

Thing is, we need to have 2500 addresses that have idna on BSC and 5000 transactions so we can comit to TrustWallet github repo. PancakeSwap pulls data from TrustWallet. I beleive, we will have that soon, I beleive in our community.

Oh yeah, one more neat thing. You can import your idena private key to Metamask (please be carefull because there are lot of scams) and use your Idena address on both Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain.

I'm on Ubuntu 16.04.7
I have RX570 4GB cards
amdgpu-pro-18.30 drivers

Can I mine Beam using latest gminer?

When I try to run it I get error
"gpu not supported"

Now you can visit Idena Explorer and see rewards for mining and validation
https://scan.idena.io

Mining rewards
$14.7 - for 18 days of mining (epoch duration)

Rewards for validation, flips and invitations
$1.7 - $79.9 - reward at start and potential reward when you reach human status level as Idena member

What a great move by devs.
