It will take at least 5 years to reach that mark. Very few people will have the patience for it.

I would never take so much risk especially if I had just started with investing. You can increase investment as you gain experience but better to diversify.

I like only one thing about Bitcoin. It has allowed people to get 100-500 times returns in few years.

Merit points are deployed, because of quality control. If you start to sell or buy your merit points it would be indirectly against the rules. They want to raise quality on BTC forum.
Problem is detecting the buying and selling of merit points.

I guess there is a total differences between merits and like button. Because like is unlimited, anyone can press the like button if he/she agrees with the opnions of post without hesitation, however, the merits are limited, even for the merit sources, which leads the high-qualitied posts may not receive the merits, not because the post is not good, but it's not best.
Merits are limited but if you calculate, there are enough. For instance, if we count the total Smerits of current members, Sr members, hero and legendary it will be quite much. Every time they send it other users, that user will also receive half. Every month some amount will be generated from merit sources. Finally this can be adjusted if the moderator feels the need to do so in future. It would be better if moderators can tell about total Smerits all the members currently have.

Is it fair that merits will be only like change , just one for one? people will not give merit ofr interesting post or suggestion.. I dont see the sense in it... it will be better to earn it somehow
Now you have to earn only by posting quality posts. This has been done to add manual inspection without troubling mods much.

I do not know, I am not able to quote anyone in this forum. But I saw that post and profile suggested by Dvach.
Some body have merits in profile, when just replying like "Good News" , "Available in TradeSatoshi" , or some ramdom post of current market rates.
If people are judging the people post , then how it is guaranteed it will be fair. Might I like that post but for somebody else it was commonsense.
Better system I guess, We should do not allow any member to start any thread on there wish to stop scam. When somebody wanted to start any thread, there should some proper requirement check for them. Moderator on that thread should able to decide, to whom merit can rewarded or not. (Second level review can also be placed for the people who get merit to ensure that there post were worthy or not).
I do not understand how the system help when person giving merit to another person without any good fixed guideline.
every person can have different taste and different criteria.
Every person having different taste gives more chance to the members who have different posting styles. If one person has to give to all, he might not like the way of posting of a certain member.

when i sent merit to someone and after ''you sent merit'' text, if i reload that page it sends merit again. and my merits decreasing again.
i dont know if true channel is here , i couldn't find place to write this.
There is already a thread posted about it here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2821267.0Solution is that you avoid refreshing that page.

There is already an option called report post. If Anti merit is introduced it will cause a lot of confusion in signature campaigns. A member today will become Jr member with few AntiMerits.

I would like to add one more demerit. I think this will discourage new members to join or post continuously. The concept is tilted towards existing members on higher levels.

Would the merit system make it easier for campaign managers and mods to spot people who are multi-accounting and abusing signature and ICO campaigns? I think that it won't take long before we'll see people giving out merit point to their own various Bitcointalk accounts, thus leaving a digital trail that ties the accounts together.
Will this new feature cause much additional workload for the mods? Since they now have something additional to 'monitor'.
This was discussed in the official thread for a number of times. Answer to your query is that it will increase the work load but it is better for the community.

Bitcoin will be at least $30000 by the end of this year. There is no way it will be $1800.
