41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Tuning my P104-100's. Low hash rates? on: February 13, 2021, 12:04:43 AM
A month or so ago, I got 6 MSI P104-100 GPUs, and got them up and running in 3 PCs here.  They've always been stable.

I mine through Nicehash and have the NBMiner 36.1 running on all 3 computers for consistency once I started noticing the hash rates.

First problem, 3 GPUs in one PC are mining about 25% faster than the other 3.  And with MSI Afterburner controlling the GPUs in all 3 computers (And Windows 7 Pro running on all 3), I started noticing the differences.  The 3 GPUs in one PC mine 25% faster than the other 3 GPUs spread across 2 other PCs.

In the "good" PC, NBMiner 36.1 runs the BeamV3 algorithm, and with the P104's on their stock settings (and they are all at 4GB of RAM, they haven't been BIOS updated to use all 8GB), they were getting me 19.2 to 19.4.... units, or megahashes, or Sols, or whatever unit of measurement BeamV3 uses.

After tweaking MSI Afterburner a bit, to 102% power limit, 80 degree C  temp limit (down from the stock 83, GPUs run in the low to mid 60s), +54 on the core clock and +707 on the memory clock, I was then getting 20.2 to 20.4 hash rates.  Is this good for BeamV3, or am I running slow?

Now the 2 P104's in my main PC, and the single P104 in another PC, they have all the same software and settings, but they were hashing BeamV3 in the mid 15's, and after applying the same MSI Afterburner tweaks, they were in the 16.2 to 16.3 range.

I don't know why the GPUs run such different speeds.  Ideas?

All 6 GPUs are running BIOS 86.04.7A.00.1D . I have GPU-Z on all 3 computers.

42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE To The Moon on: January 30, 2021, 01:16:04 PM
How do you turn $735 into $308?  Easy. Buy DOGE on the hype, then watch it slowly dribble downwards for 2 days before saying fuck it and selling out, returning the remaining BTC to my main holding account.  Shit.  Fuck.  Shitfuck.  I got to get better at timing the market.  After hodling a variety of coins for over 2 years, I sold them all for $8900 in late august 2020, whereas if I had held them until late November I woulda had $16000, and today those same coins were totalling a bit over $19000.  Goddamn fucking bullshit fuck motherfucker.  I need a damn time machine.

Today's question - do I keep my $308 worth of BTC in BTC, or move it to cash to avoid losses when BTC dips down?
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE To The Moon on: January 30, 2021, 02:13:06 AM
Mr. Musk, I need you to twit and tweet a few more twats about DOGECOIN.  It doesn't have to be true, it just needs to pump the price about 10X.  Thanks.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE To The Moon on: January 30, 2021, 12:17:24 AM
I was watching a youtube livestream last night when someone superchatted about DoggyCoin (the right way to say it, by the way, not DDDOOOOGGGGJJJJZZZZZEEEcoin), and I immediately hopped on my trading accounts and transferred BTC to an exchange that handles DOGE, and bought 10,400 at a price of 213 satoshis (about 6 cents) each.

Now we need to pump the hell out of DOGE, for any reason or no reason.  I don't care, I just want to make an enormous profit for nothing.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU prices are through the roof on ebay! on: January 10, 2021, 03:45:36 AM
Damn, I can't find any good deals on GPUs on ebay.  1060s, 1070s, 3060s, etc.  All ridiculously overpriced.  And most of the 3060s aren't even real auctions, they are just auctions for a box or piece of paper to fool buying bots.  Waste of my time to click anything.

I recently got a good deal on 6 P104-100s, but the post office screwed up and lost the package 3 weeks ago.

I'd be better off just buying some coins, but the prices have risen so much that a lot of profit opportunity is already lost.

Just a few weeks ago I could buy an Antminer S9 for under $100 on ebay, now everyone wants $300.  Screw them!
46  Economy / Economics / The recent rise in prices, temporary or more long term? on: January 08, 2021, 03:39:41 AM
BTC has risen quite a bit recently, but at a slower overall rate than in December 2017.

Given that it looks like Joe and the Ho might actually get in, I am wondering if the big rise in BTC interest is because people are using crypto to transfer or HODL their cash assets to avoid taxes.  I certainly would.  I think that if it is the case, then BTC price has quite a bit of upside left in it yet, and when (not if) biden tanks the economy, then BTC will be used even more.

What do you think of the recent price gains and if the prices will stay up or crash out?

Trump won the election.  biden was INSTALLED, not elected.  There's a difference.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on P104-100 Nvidia GPUs? on: December 29, 2020, 01:44:17 AM
I presume Nicehash will detect the GPUs and give them the most profitable algorithm to mine?

My P104s are held up by all the Christmas traffic, 9 days late with the post office mail so far.  Power supply and riser cables on the way too.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on P104-100 Nvidia GPUs? on: December 22, 2020, 03:24:52 AM
According to the Nicehash calculator, the 3060 is about 30% better than a P104-100.  But what are they, $400 new?

And I paid $210 each for the 6 I have coming.  Used.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on P104-100 Nvidia GPUs? on: December 19, 2020, 12:13:30 AM
This tech article:

https://www.bitnand.com/nvidia-p104-100-gpu-mining-review

compares it to the 1080.  Although now that I think about it, the fact that it has a single 8 pin power plug should confirm it being based on the 1070.

Oh well, I have 6 of them on the way now, I'll find space for them in my computers and put them to work.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining on P104-100 Nvidia GPUs? on: December 18, 2020, 03:14:02 AM
Anyone got any P104's running?  The Nvidia 1080 type card with no video outputs?

I've seen lots of P106's in farms, the 1060 type card but I haven't seen many P104s.  I have a chance to get some at a good price.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin prices are POPPING!! C'mon whales and market-makers, jack the prices!!! on: September 09, 2020, 03:21:01 AM
See?  A month later, JUST AS I PREDICTED, coin prices are crashing.  I toldja I toldja I toldja!!!!!
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin prices are POPPING!! C'mon whales and market-makers, jack the prices!!! on: August 13, 2020, 01:39:01 PM
You’re sounding like you’re so desperate to make lots of money, you have got to chill man. The way you’re saying someone should tell you when the price of the coins will go up so that you can invest and cash out with big profit makes it clear that you’re desperate, and in case you don’t know, it doesn’t work that way. Even if there are people who are manipulating the price of cryptocurrencies, trust me, none of them have the time to be in this forum reading your post and pleading them to pump prices, you’d probably be wasting your time.

I'm going to have to correct you.  I am not "desperate" or "pleading" with anyone.  I am stating what I want to happen and am asking the big coin holders behind the scenes to give me a tip on some hot price swinging action.  I know it probably doesn't "work that way", as you say, but I don't care.  I missed the start of Bitcoin by 4 years and I am supremely pissed about that.  Many millions could have been mine.  Got to make up for my late start.

That is different.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin prices are POPPING!! C'mon whales and market-makers, jack the prices!!! on: August 11, 2020, 03:58:14 PM
Okay, here is how things are going to go.  Coin prices have been steady for the past week or so.  A little up, a little down, but it hasn't cracked $12,000 for Bitcoin, and the other alt coins haven't moved much in either direction.

So now we are going to see a downside slide.  A slow and steady retrenchment to the prices of a month ago.  BTC around 9000, LTC around 40-44.

So my advice is to sell now, wait a while, and buy back cheaper in a month or two and have more coins.

Now check this post in a month or two and see how close to right I was.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Okay whales and market manipulators, I need you to crash the coin markets now. on: August 09, 2020, 04:43:53 AM
Probably you are an opportunist who wanted to buy at a very low price. I dont know why you are so desperate to drag down the price but if you want to buy on a cheaper price then you should wait. Dont ask or even beg to the whales to help you with it. Cause you like it or not they will do it on the time they wanted to do dump but before that, its unlikely the market will fall for now.

Get this straight - I am not begging anyone for anything.  I am saying to the whales "Okay, I'm in cash now, drop the prices so I can buy back in cheap".

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Okay whales and market manipulators, I need you to crash the coin markets now. on: August 08, 2020, 11:59:38 PM

Sounds funny and baseless at the same time, also coming from someone who has no idea on how the market works. You've never heard of technical analysis? Why don't you analyze the market and decide when to exit and when to enter, rather than calling on whales to crash the market after you've exited, which looks more like a "cry for 😣 help" comedy. You made me laugh anyway lol.

Here's the thing about technical analysis - Crypto coins ARE NOT STOCKS!!  I consider any sort of technical analysis on them to be a complete waste of time, all that "No replacement Fibonacci retracement" bullshit.

Crypto coin price rises and falls, and pumps and dumps are all engineered by the whales and people behind the curtains, so to speak.  Whenever they feel like making a few million bucks more, they do it.  I can't say if it is a 3 letter government agency or just a few people with a whole lot of coins, because I do not know, but someone is running the game of coin prices.  I just need them to clue me in so I can make a nice profit for myself too.  They are reading this, I'm sure they are.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Okay whales and market manipulators, I need you to crash the coin markets now. on: August 08, 2020, 11:53:23 PM
No with Bitcoin cash.

Don't you like bitcoin?

Nothing wrong with Bitcoin, except the profit isn't there.  From mid-March to this week, Ethereum prices have risen almost 400%.  In the same time frame, Bitcoin has only risen roughly 240%.

And in case I haven't made it clear, I'm all about the PROFITS.

57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Okay whales and market manipulators, I need you to crash the coin markets now. on: August 08, 2020, 05:01:42 PM
After the recent run up in prices, I decided to sell everything I had.  So I am all in cash now, waiting for a huge drop in coin prices to buy back in and ride them to MORE PROFITS on the next coin price surge!

So, whales and behind the scenes people who are controlling the price of coins, I need a big crash in coin prices now so I can buy in as cheaply as possible.  I don't care how you do it or what reasons you give for it.

Maybe announce that the US Government has found a way to spy on and control all coins and collect taxes on them, and everyone must register with the government if they have any coins.  It doesn't have to be a true story, it just needs to crash the hell out of coins prices so I can buy in cheaply.

And as always, I'd appreciate a PM to let me know when this will happen so I can be ready for it.  Thanks.

I'm thinking that when I do buy back in, I'll stick with Ethereum, Litecoin and maybe Bitcoin Cash, coins that have a long history and proven price rising potential.  No more micro-alt coins like XRP, Tron, EOS, and Cardano.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP got 30 new WHALES!!! on: August 07, 2020, 09:10:09 PM
I had bought some XRP back in early 18, then as the price dropped over the next year, I bought more to dollar cost average my way down.  Then, like a limp dick that has shot its load, XRP has done NOTHING in the past year, except go down in value.

I don't care what XRP is good for, all I care about is buy low + sell high = BIG PROFITS FOR ME.

However, now that I recently dumped all my coins, including XRP at a loss  (others of my coins made nice profits), the chances of XRP rising in price now are very good because I don't have any.

I ought to buy 1000 just to have my hand in it a bit.  I'll be a little less pissed them when it goes sky high, if it ever does.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin prices are POPPING!! C'mon whales and market-makers, jack the prices!!! on: August 06, 2020, 10:15:34 PM
Coin prices have been steady for several days, slightly trickling upwards.  Not a huge increase yet.

Remember, market makers and whales, I sold all my coins, so now I need coin prices to go way way DOWN so I can buy back in cheaper.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin prices are POPPING!! C'mon whales and market-makers, jack the prices!!! on: August 02, 2020, 11:01:09 PM
Yeah, I'm more relaxed now that I'm waiting for the next market dip and not worrying how high it'll go, if it goes higher at all.  The price pop was a good chance for me to gain roughly $3000 on the value of my coins.
